Default Release Dates

As an indie stockist we just got told the following:

Oct is SM which we know,
Nov is Warhammer Chaos,
Jan sees new plastic Orks and
Feb is possibly Lizardmen

Not sure if any of this was known as it spans a few topics. Noteably tho, nothing special for December.

So the next 40K Codex - either Space Wolves or Imperial Guard - won't appear until April.

Traditionally GW has little in the way of new releases in December. There is always the possibility of a spillover from January like an army box or now a spearhead, but they figure stores have wenough going on with the normal christmas rush that they don't need to stoke the fires any higher. It also gives them their two weeks off at the end of the year.

So this is really just business as usual.

Interesting about Lizardmen in Feb. Wonder what they would get in plastic this time around?

Imperial Guard seems most likly.
Space Wolves, most likly not. I think Necrons might even fall before SW.

I reckon the SM Codex and WHFB Chaos are special enough to cover 3 months.

Plastic Orks? Do we know about these - are they Stormboyz or Nobz perhaps? I know Nobz were on the way, but didn't think they'd be plastic.

There is also a plastic Battlewagon kit but that might not make it for the January release, also included in the Ork release is 3 Metal Special Characters

Awww.

I mean, a Space Wolves book probably won't need any new models...December release would be good, I think. Just give us a new book, the models are mostly fine right now, release them later.
On another note, if sarabando is right, Dark Eldar prospects do NOT look good.

I could tell you, but there's an entire thread dedicated to that subject.

Let's just say I'm doing the happy dance.

I wouldn't put much stock in that -- it runs contrary to everything that's been rumored thus far.

D'ya know how hard it is to get a decent pizza in the Warp?

From the rumors, DE and Necrons are more likely 09 then SW.

That would be Warriors of Chaos; there are more details on that in the Fantasy rumours section.

Wow, I'm really feeling for the Dark Eldar and Space Wolf players, and Imperial Guard players to a lesser extent. I respect 40k players who hang on despite outdated Codexes and seemingly relentless push-backs.

I don't know. Logan Grimnar is still one of the best Termi Armoured minis out there IMO.

That would be very strange, considering there are people who already have that book.. and haven't said anything indicating SW would be included in it.
Not to mention all the other "big" chapters have standalone lists.

Ofcourse, they might be doing the BA treatment for wolves
