I like it, not quite what I imagined, but not bad either. The weapons do look a bit over-sized though. I especially like the missile launchers on top. Does anyone have any idea on why there are three different close weapon arms? One looks like an assault drill, one is like a FW dccw, and the other (for the right arm) looks like an oversized GW dccw.

Iron clads have three options for close combat weapons. The standard option, a siesmic hammer and a chainfist. Really don't know why you'd take the chainfist as the hammer gives you +1 to you rolls on the vehicle damage table.
Nice pics, I notice it's also got the assault launchers modelled onto it. |

Seismic Hammer gives you +1 on the damage chart, but Chainfist is 2D6 to pen I believe, so it is a lot easier to pen those AV14 targets.
I love the chainfist, looks like a Titan CCW. Hurricane Bolter is good too. The oversized DCCW is kind of ugly, and the other one looks like an assault drill. Probably the Seismic Hammer. I was hoping the S-Hammer would be something more Big O-like.

I am liking the look of these. I particularly like the chainfist and the hurricane bolter.

a bit more on topic, I like just about everything about this picture, except possibly the big chunky claw arm.

I don't like it, the oversized arms mess with the balance of the dread and its already-not-so-big legs look really dwarfed. I'd rather try to bulk up the shoulders, so the dread may look kind of X-shaped (think S-Gundam with its large shoulder), or make one of the shoulder towering over the rest of the dread, so it would be asymmetrical. But I think I made a pretty similar post when the 1st pic came out months ago^^.

I like the overall design, but yeah, the porportions need a little work. Somehow I just don't think I'm going to be doing much upgrading beyond the basic loadout. This badboy starts getting pricy rather quickly.

Nice. I like the Chainfist.
Good to see the Right Arm CCW is quite different looking to the Furioso. It may only be an aesthetic difference, but that’s still important

HULK SMASH
Looks dead choppy. The chainfist is really nasty looking, and the seismic drill is pretty cool. Question is: will it be part of a re-cut kit, or a new add-on kit, or is it simply a proof of concept piece?

You know that feeling you get when you look at a power ranger figure or maybe an action man or GI Joe and they have too many weapons on them. You think "hey that guy has too many guns and the ones he has are too big. He he'd never have the strength to lift them up never mind fire them." That's what I think when I look at this. It reminds me of the power ranger toys my wee boy just got for his birthday.
I agree, I really hope this is just a picture of all the possible bits. It looks far too cluttered. The squared plates on the legs look wrong. I get that they are supposed to be armoured but it kinda goes against the rest of the Space Marine armour designs. The tanks look cool square but armour doesn't. I would suspect that this is a plastic kit. Though the picture of the Thunderfire cannon on there doesn't rule out that it is in metal. Personally I hate it. I don't know maybe the rules will change my mind...but probably not. |

Actually after a Game tonight with some of the most dire vehicle damage rolls (on my part) that I've ever seen I'd be tempted with a AP 10+D6 hit and plus one on the damage chart than a S10+2D6 hit, which can still roll a shaken result.... I quite like this thing, all told, I can see it becoming a firm favourite, presuming it's a plastic, the increased killyness of the dread in tank assaults is made all the more appealing now it can run and has improved frontal armour. This dread will OWN a Defiler and give a Soul Grinder a run for it's money.

Whoo! I like! I actually like the claw. Not too impressed with the chainfist, guess I expected a little different. And I always pictured the Hammer to be on the right arm, not left. I'd best get convertin'!

The individual arms look pretty good IMO, but the overall CAD pic looks horrid. It's too bulky, as if binged out dread style. The leg armor, while looking sweet on their own, don't match the style of the dread at all. The assault grenade? plates look completely out of place, and the missiles over the shoulders make the dread look like a kids toy (oh the irony :P). I've got my fingers crossed that the painted version proves me wrong.
