so i have had a bunch of tyranids sitting around and i have finally found enough time to work on the little drooly monsters!
i mainly play a nidzilla army just because i love the carnifex model, it has so much potential. my main theme will be a army composed of huge models! i want to push my self while using green stuff and try to do concept sketches for most of the units and follow through with the picts to models. The models will be based as if in a city battle ground and i would like to make the bases fairly unique. i found that left over bitz from the building sets work well for this and i have a small bucket of them to work with, so i think it work well! i attached 2 picts of how i would like to do the color scheme, i will paint them with green skin, blue scales and bone plates and orange hands and feet. mainly based on the colors on a tree frog, i think i attached the pict of one. i understand that the colors will stand out like a soar thumb in the city but when they are so big they dont need to hide lol i will hasve some picts up asap i have 2 fex's finnished and a brood lord .

so for my tournament army i have a total of:

brood lord with a 6man unit of genestealers
flying hive tyrant
elite fex with 2x devourer
elite fex with devourer and scything talons
total of 40 guants
16 genestealers with scuttle
3 zoanthropes
and 2 fex's with barbed strangler and venom cannon
totaling about 1750 it what local tournaments are set at.

with the 2 fex's with the VC and BS i am modeling them after some concept sketches of the exocrine i have seen.

so for the carnifex skull i added some green stuff to his first armor plate on his head to cover up the original models eyes. once the green stuff cured i then took a drill and randomly drilled little holes in that first plate of armor. then i filled it with little balls of green stuff and presto your done!

Wow man, those look awesome! It's a really cool scheme and it fits nids perfectly! The rending claw bending down the lampost in a nice conversion, really brings the model to life.

I like the Broodlord/Lictor? too. As before the color scheme really works, I especially like the way you have painted the carapace.

Pretty crazy colors you are using there. The carnifex conversion is really good at showing how a "shooty" carnifex would look

That looks amazing!!! You know what - if I where you I'd put some moss flock on that base, some bright moss green thing, to tie in with the clour of the model, would make it soo cool, caribbean tyranids? - yes please! No but seriously, the color even looks fitting to fluff!

Well i guess i should update my blog, i am working on a tau crisis commander, ill post some picts soon. As for hive fleet duhma i have started a flying tyranid hive tyrant, and some leaping warriors. the warriors have really been making there points back in the last few games so its worth it!

so finally an update!!! I started a Flying tyrant and wow what a fun model. The only thing is after a ton of playtesting I am going to drop the devouers and make a wicked set of scything talons for him! enjoy!
