you could make him a bit taller by adding an extra sole to his feet in plasticard that would make his boots look more armoured as well, and as you said bigger shoulder plates and the small loin ones as well.
GREAT JOB SO FAR !!!

Thanks mate.
![]() Yeah the only real way of adding height to this guy is with the boots. If you elongate the thighs or shins with plasticard it throws the proportions out because an actual scale marine can no-longer fit inside. I think the key areas to make bigger are the feet and shoulderpads to give it a much bulkier appearance and by lengthening the torso. I'll probably make eleven of these guys to make two complete squads for space hulk and a Captain. It'll also leave it open to develop them further to make a proper deathwing army that I can add actual scale dreads and my war dog pattern landraider.

That Terminator really is intimidating! Great job there, mate! And that Knight really deserves to be fixed. It looks really cool.

I've never played space hulk but think it is really cool !!
Could be cool to make a gigantic spacehulk board from hirst arts moulds if you know them, and then make it true scale too

![]() the damned artificer:Space Hulk is an amazing game, I've been a massive fan since the days of first edition though I never got around to playing second edition. I think what I'd probably use would be the cities of death sprues for something like that but hopefully the rumours of plastic floor tiles in the new edition will be true. I've streamlined the body a bit more now so it looks like the arms are more naturally positioned.

Right back to Enoch...
I was hoping to have him finished today but got sidetracked. I've started on the bionic arm and am still cleaning up the shotgun. I've also added the MkIV helmet to which I'll probably be adding the snout guard and will be converting the pack to matchthe Mk IV version at the bottom of this page. I still need to add a holstered psitol. I've also raised the head a little but still need to add service studs. With any luck I'll be finished tomorrow and begin the painting that I'm itching to start. ![]() ![]()

Really liking that Mk 4 mate. That pic of the old backpack is really helpful. I know how I'm gonna widen the rest of my older mark backpacks now, that should be a lot easier.
The pose is good too, I've had trouble making that sort of pose look right (the legs I mean).

![]() Yeah the legs were a bit tricky but the key is to remove the feet and upper thighs and just GS them. I did come close to just greenstuffing the legs altogether with the amount of work I ended up doing on them. I thought the pack might be of use to someone, the other useful bit for MkIV is that the bolter is the same as the RTB01 plastic bolters with the forward ammo clip.

Just a quick question that I'm after suggestions for. I'm thinking of maybe adding a Nork bodyguard model to the command squad to turn it into a real close combat monster.
I'm not one hundred percent on the Astartes of the time in regards to abhuman and so am concidering maybe an old school style robot as a proxy. Should I just say to heck with it and add an Ogrn model or go with a more ABC warrior style robot as a relic from the Unification Wars?

Oooooh ABC robot gets my vote for sure.
Enoch is looking great. Not quite sure what is going on with the shotgun magazine, but I have to assume that you are not finished with it yet. From the look of the comparison shot with the Actual Scale Marine, the Terminator is on the right track. I like that you are not getting too crazy with changing the Marine inside the armor's proportions. A suit of armor can only add so much height, and that can only be added under the feet or over the head. Only crit I have is the tubing on the legs is a bit wonky. I would suggest some plastic tubing or wires for that. ~Eric

![]() Taarnak: I'll be cleaning up the magazine a bit more on Enoch before it's finished and straigtening out the pistons on the terminator. I definately agree about what you say in regards to the terminator armour proportions. It looked a bit odd in the first pictures because of the widened torso and I couldn't get my head around the arms being so far apart. If it doesn't look like the marine can fit in the armour it'd constantly be niggling away at me. Robot Bodyguard Concept I can't remember the exact details of why the Imperium banned AI but I do remember something about a war with the machines from some vague bit of background material that was used to explain why they use servitors or something. Its kind of weird really because the admech used robots in the heresy but I know from the old background material that they had an artificial organic cortex. There are a couple of routes that I could go with this. I'm not really keen on the abhuman thing (despite the irony of the Astartes being beyond human because of their augmentation) because it doesn't sit right with me. I could have the robot assigned to him from the ad mech contingent within the force I suppose but I really want to keep him seperate in terms of background material. I want to make him as much an outsider to the humans as the Astarte ideally and have them a little troubled by the presence of the machine. I also want to bond him with Enoch in that they are both relics of a bygone age. So what I'm currently thinking is that maybe one of the tyrants of old earth created an army of cyborgs much like the Emperor created the proto-astartes to fight for him. The Space Wolves defeated him and maybe the technology base of his cybernetic warriors was part of the origins of servitors. So at the heart of the machine lies the brain and spinal cord of one of the tyrant's elite cybernetic warriors. Core elements of the cyborg's personality remain but he's been reprogramed to fight alongside his current master. The reasoning behind making him from the Unification Wars is mostly to do with Enoch's obsession with surrounding himself with parts of the war. He is clearly struggling to come to terms with the changes that have occured since they conquered Terra. I'm playing more on the martial aspect of the Space Wolves with Enoch that had Russ been there from the begining may have been channeled in a different direction. So the idea would be that this cybernetic robot has been stood in his stateroom aboard his vessel deactivated much like someone might have a suit of armour on display. As Enoch is being assigned to an active unit it's not practical to cart around crates of old equipment from the wars so he re-activates the cyborg and takes it with him. So you've got this weird relationship where he's fighting alongside this thing but at the same time it represents a link that keeps him firmly rooted in the past because he can't come to terms with the rapidly changing world around him. Russ clearly realised that no-matter what he's not going to be able to sway the old warrior and so out of respect places him in a position where he will be of some use. I'm guessing that in Russ's culture old warriors are given a great deal of respect so I can't see him chewing the guy out and just telling him to get with the program. In his mind he's probably allowing Enoch the chance to die a warriors death.

I've been doing a bit of thinking as to the composition of the Company HQ now as this is going to be a pretty tough unit all in all.
Given Straken's close combat ability I'm thinking the way to go is to strengthen this and go for an all out attack squad fighting at the thick of it all. So I'm going to upgrade one veteran to medic which gives them the feel no pain special rule and another to carry the Regimental standard which will increase their chances of winning a combat round. I'm thinking that this unit is going to need to close on the enemy as quickly as possible so a couple of Valkyries might be in order here with the second carrying a squad of veterans with shotguns, flamers and carapace armour to back them up. I'll probably fly the Valkyries together with the vets taking the lead to protect the command squad and drop chute the lot onto an objective. I was toying around with adding a few advisors purely for extra bodies but given that they are going to be too busy hacking and slashing the enemy they might not be able to use their special rules to much effect. So next in line for models are: Nork proxy, four vets with close combat weapons, one with medic pack, one with regimental standard and maybe a vox operator.

Hmm, the robots of the Legio Cybernetica needed some sort of controller who could operate them, they worked on very specific orders.
However, if the cyborg you mention has a human brain/spine, then it isn't really an AI so no worries there, the thing would then kind of operate like a dreadnought. I am very curious about the design of the thing though... As for a Valkyrie, I don't know if a Space Marine would fit in there. What if the command squad had some other STC based dropship, kind of a mix between the Arvus and Aquila landers, the Land Speeder, Thunderhawk and the Valkyrie. Maybe use Drop Pod bits as a basis?

Malika: Molotov pointed out to me that in False Gods there is an Adeptus Mechanicus role that is responsible for maintaining the Legions robots so I should be good to go on that one.
The original robot rules were diagram based and you had to follow a program when using them in the game so that simple thought process that drives them should be very similar to an Ogryn in many respects and do away with the need for an ad mech controller. I'm not entirely certain if Valkyries were around at the time of the Great Crusade to be honest. If it was a dedicated vehicle then I'd probably need to come up with something to suit his size but as it's an army vehicle he's going to have to rough it with the troops and just hope he doesn't bang his head too much. ![]() I'm probably going to follow the rule of cool and base the design on the ABC warrior Hammerstein as seen in the judge dredd movie. CMDante: Cheers mate, Deathcat has hit the nail in the head. ![]() Update I'm hoping the next pictures I post will be of the painting getting started. I've just got to clean up the shotgun, add the top of the pack, add a few little bits and he's finished as I want to start the robot. ![]() ![]()

![]() I'll be adding the pistol holstered somewhere on his leg, service studds to the head and maybe a few other bits. I'm also going to add the snout guard to the helmet. Hopefully I'll have him finished today with any luck but for now I have to go do the shopping.
