Yes, but a bit better and a tad more survivable.

I got a brief look at some sprues. I saw many cool heads of various types kind of reminded me of some of the WHFB Marauder heads and the one that stood out was a wolf head shaped helmet. It was really cool.

I also saw a Thunder Hammer with SW markings and some cool lightning claws.
Sorry I do not have pics, I kind of snuck the look that I had.

I really like the wolf head helmet.

I was hoping for a wolf head helmet. How many helmets are included among the bare heads? And are there copious beards?

Were these items for TDA or power armor?

I am not sure, I just got a peek that I should not have. There was two identical sprues, what kit they were part of I do not know.

Quote I was hoping for a wolf head helmet. How many helmets are included among the bare heads? And are there copious beards?
I saw one wolf head per sprue and I saw some beards, copious? did not get that close a look. (I was enthralled by the wolf helmet and how I am going to get my wife to fund my new SW army!!!!) I got the peek when a red shirt opened the store room door. The sprues were on a shelf so I poked my head in and when the shirt noticed I got yelled at. Then spent the next hour trying to con and bribe for a closer look... all to no avail.

Concerning the issue about LR transport capacity, while I'd really hate it, if they actually lowered it, I almost expect to see it. The Land Raider and Drop Pod in the Imperial Armour Vol.2 Updates have their capacity also lowered to 10 while the Crusader remained at 16... I don't see any reason for that, though. Reading these rumours and thinking about this basically tells me "yeah, you can have all kinds of nice things. Nothing too special, nothing too weak... Oh, and you can't take any combinations of that. If you want 10 Hunters with two Melta guns and two PFs... well, then they'll have to walk!"

I don't get it and I really hope that they'll have a capacity of 12.

I'm hoping that the new LR variation rumor is true and the 10 man capacity is false.

I've had a couple people confirm this for me:

Standard LR - 10
Redemer - 12
Crusader - 16
DP - 10
No Storm (won't bother to finish painting mine...)
No IronClad

It would appear that GW is really pushing vanilla SM to be superior to all other SM codecies (non SM codecies not withstanding), especially with regard to special units. Did anyone check to see if Storm Shields only give a 4++ in CC? wouldn't be too surprising, and it would put DA, BT, SW and BA all on level playing fields(ish), and below C:SM.

Don't get me wrong, I am excited for the new codex, but am hesitantly optimistic, as I see many "SW" players using the C:SM codex for their "counts-as SW" army.

On the bright side, a codex of less apparent power than C:SM would serve to weed out those that play SW only to abuse the rules, leaving only those who truly enjoy the army.

I cannot believe that there are already people whining that the SW codex is going to be 'inferior'.

At least wait until you have read it.

That Blows= NO Ironclad, I customed up my own an it looks SWEET.

I guess I can live without the LSS, but it was to be my next purchase(along with some drop pods). I guess it'll be the SW WG and "troops" boxes now.

RE: Vanillas having everything, no doubt there, kinda puts the boots to all us non-vanilla armies, but I'll make final judgement AFTER I get the dex in my hot little hands and can absorb the pros/cons.

On the whole tho sounds good, but I guess if the troop carry #'s are true my LR(#2) will be revamped into another Crusader, which I don't really want to do

Lovin the Skyclaws, I was one of those that still used them even with the cost....I guess old habits die hard. Considering they won me SO many skirmishes through the years......

OCT 3rd can't come fast enough!!!

BTW any rumors on the FW "special" for GD UK??

The Devs want C: SM to have a distinctive vanilla taste. They don't want it to be Codex: Generic Marines, hence the differences (lack of LS Storm and Ironclad).

Well it shouldn't be such a great departure unless the previous dex was full of gremlins (chaos/DA's).

Just some tweaks.

Yup folks already whining about it being underpowered and overpowered and they have not even read it or play tested.

Missing LSS and ICD are fine and good for the Space Marines. But fitting less standard sized marines into a standard size Land Raider or Drop Pod makes no sense. I will live with it, as its just an excuse to convert my LRs into LRC which I believe are far superior anyway. But its still silly.

As for the codex. GH are reasonably priced, have ubergrit, two special weapons, no slouches in melee, I'd say the codex is a win so far. Characters are nice, but sound like they will be pricey enough you will only take one or two.

Long time lurker, first time poster and all that.
I think that there are no pictures of the new minis, so I thought I could contribute to the forum.

Enjoy.

Edit. I forgot that not everyone can read spanish
The first picture is of the "basic" kit. You can use it for your wolf guard or mix it with the rest of SM line to get BC, LF, GH and scouts. You can assemble 10 minis. It contains 44 heads, 28 shoulder pads, arms and weapons for the wolf scouts, thunder hammers, wolf claws, pelts, plasma guns and pistols, and a variety of SW specific accesories like knives, wolf tails, etc.
The second picture is Canis Wolfborn. Amazing rider, not so keen on the wolf.
The third depicts the WG terminators. An excellent kit containing storm bolters, assault cannon, heavy flamer, chainsaw, power fists, power swords, frostblade? frost axe? (don't know the englist word name) 4 pairs of wolf claws and 4 pairs of thunder hammers and storm shields. And all that for the same price of a SM terminator squad. Hope it isn't a typo.
The forth photo is of Njal Stormcaller.
And in the last we can see the already known wolf guard with wolf claws and Lukas el Tramposo (I think this is the Loki character)

Beards!

Rabianegra, you sir, are a hero.

Canis looks damn cool!

EDIT: "Lukas el Tramposo" = Lukas the Trickster (Loki-type character)?
