Default 2007 release schedule

Alright, I was in my local GW tonight for the weekly fantasy night and one of employees waves me over and tells me he's got something for me to look at. What he then proceeded to hand me was a list of everything GW is planning on putting out for the rest of the year. The list was at least 10 pages long with entries for every week/2 weeks, sku numbers, cost, GW number.

I was suprised he was showing it to me but apparently the new policy is to go ahead and share this info with regulars. He let me know that it was all subject to change and that sometimes they push back due dates/change prices(for instance the apocalypse products didn't have prices yet).

The list included everything you'd expect to see such as the foundation paints, re-release of blood angel characters in june/july, the high elves in the fall, orks as the christmas release. Some suprises for me included what looked like either a re-release or resculpt of some IG models(commissar and ogryns(there was even a bone-ead model on the list)), that orks were the christmas release army box, the fact that the shadow king is back for high elves, plastic terminators for Chaos, and a couple of cool sound chaos characters.

I'm really kicking myself right now for not taking notes on when exactly stuff was coming out, but I was really only browsing the list. In a lot of circumstances all that I had to go on was the name, like in the case of the apocolypse stuff it didn't say what was in the box, it just named it. Some of the names were: Necron Phalanx, Emperor's First Tank company, Tau Rapid Deployment Force.

I'll go back and take some very detailed notes in the next few days, I just didn't see any refernce to this information on the rest of the board and wanted to share.

Policy to share info with regulars

This sounds iffy to me.

Most of this stuff has been mentioned on other threads in some form or other, either as rumours or supposition. The only thing I hadn't heard was Commissars and Ogryns.

Hmmmm....

I believe it, though it was about a year ago that a manager advised me on what models I might wanna wait for because of new eldar models coming out- he wasn't ordering any eldar because he wanted to make sure that anyone who was collecting them would get the new models.

Hmm, those big apocalypse box names sound iffy.

Aren't the mega-forces each race has enough already? Or are they going for "mega-mega-forces"? One way to raise sales I guess. Maybe they'll be all-plastic boxed army level kits, perhaps carrying double the savings of a Battleforce/Megaforce? [/semi-insightful yet still essentially wishful thinking]

I just think it's a bit strange that the schedule is tightened up to such an extent that people seem to have NO IDEA what's coming out next, and all of the sudden there's a list with all the releases for the rest of the year. And a POLICY to share this info with "regulars", no less.

Not saying it's not true, just that it's strange.

There are rumours about big boxes, such as the "Company Sized Box" for Space Marines.

Tau Rapid Deployment Force sort of implies a lot of Devilfish.

Company-sized as in Codex 100 marines in Power Armor plus support, or company as in battle company portion you would see in a normal game? [sorry if it's hit in the apocalypse thread, that thread is a bit too much of a beast]

The comment about 'regulars' was meant to mean that the guy I talked to stated that in the past they weren't allowed to really confirm street dates, and were never allowed to make that kind of list public. Now they have been told by there regional manager to go ahead and show it to customers and encourage interest in releases coming out in the coming year.

Oh, and I don't know if this is true, because well all the list had was names not descriptions of what was included, but that the one for space marines would be a box of 100 marines, 8 rhinos and 2 razor backs. I think this constitutes a company/crusade worth of marines. I know this seems like a ton of models but it's for apocalypse so you are talking about games on this kind of scale.

This seems strange, as GW have been pretty stringent on the release of information for some years now. However, it's entirely possible that they've had a change of policy, so I'm not going to say either way.

What is odd is that this wouldn't necessarily be good for business, as they could end up causing sales drops if people know something new is coming. This was, I understand, the reason for imposing the 6-month (now 3-month) window on leaking rumours on upcoming releases.

That said, if the window has been completely thrown out the... window (), we can expect to see more rumours coming in. Always a good thing .

Don't get me wrong, I was absolutely floored when he handed it to me. Frankly the first thing I did, being a blood angel player, was find the re-release of the characters coming out just to add more weight to the 'get you by' list in WD this summer. What is normally a pretty active store on fantasy night only had one fantasy game going as a lot of people were crowded around the list and joking around about stuff like the 'ice balrog'(seems like gw is really stretching with LoTR).

Either way I'll try to provide some more detailed information later this week.

Yes, please do.

Out of curiosity, how was the list presented? Was it just some printout on business sheet, did have an 'official' look to it?

Sorry, I'm a dyed in the wool skeptic at heart

Still, thanks for the info!

It looked exactly like an invoice actually. It included everything from release dates to the specific codes that GW uses on there blister packs. Actually to add some validity to the claim, I at one point commented on the cost of a Mephiston, an insane double what it should have been. Upon hearing this one of the staff pointed out that the cost was per blister pack, not just blister(blisters come in packs of 2 each), making the cost for the model half of what was on the sheet.

Cheers

Out of curiosity, were the chaos charaters for fantasy or 40k. Also If you do not mind are you in the US? Thanks

Hmm Sounds Very interesting. Any mention of anything Empire related? Like the new Plastic wizards? And on the 40k side, any ideas what was in the Tau box you mentioned?

Chaos characters were 40k.
The only empire stuff I saw, or remember seeing, was the plastic box of flagellents, but I'm pretty sure they are well aware of that in the fantasy section.

this is very interesting, but me being an exceptionally paranoid person... i wouldn't be surprised if this was a double bluff to stoke our interests in say, Orks, and then it turns out that they bring out, say, Dark Eldar instead of Orks (them being the evil nasty people in charge of dashing greenskin hopes)

I am usually inclined to take posts at face value. If you say you saw it, I might believe you. A follow up would be nice.

Orks ARMY BOX for X-mas followed by the rest of the show coming along in the new year makes sense to me. I would like to know more about the CHaos Releases. Actually, it would be nice to know what characters are being putzed with, and what blisters are being re-done.

Also... DEMONS! Are they going to re-do demons?

Of course, the synic in my is detecting a GW agent spreding false information (they have admited to it recently.) Co-oberation and more detailed information would make this thred more credable.

If it adds any validity a guy from another forum mentioned the ogryns awhile back saying they would be plastics and would be out for Apocalypse. He's been 100% credible with all the other information he's given.
