30th Anniversary White Dwarf mini (pic)...

Haven't seen this posted, but I scanned this pic in from a flyer at my local GW. It's the White Dwarf with Gotrek/Bugman Shieldbearers. Cost will be $25 and it will only be available on May 26th (Saturday) in limited quantities. Rules will be in US WD329.

It's not the greatest, but the original pic isn't great either. Enjoy...

Does anybody know specifics about how/where this will be available?
(E.g. the German White Dwarf doesn't have its 30th anniversary; will the mini still be available here?)

The proportions and the poses are really gross.
I heard it was sculpted by Trish Morisson, who normally just designs monsters. Is this right?

What a waste of time.

A pretty much useless model from gameplay purposes poorly executed. Plenty of better stuff could have been released. The mounted chaos sorcerer and the Tzeentch lord on disc would have been more welcome.

As t-tauri said - complete waste of time, the sorcerer on disc would have been FAR better.

As for me, I quite like the model. Sure, Gotrek seems a little off, but the rest of the models is good IMO, esp. the White Dwarf. I hate the punk-haired monstrosity that was the previous Ltd Ed. version.

JMO though...

It has rules? What kind of invincible character would this be, considering it consists of the Greatest Slayer ever to live, the White Dwarf himself anf...well Bugman is a little out of place, but yeah.

It looks pretty cool in terms of the model itself, although Gotrek isn't anything to brag about, but I can't help but be niggled by the fact that the whole thing is implausible...why would a crazed slayer be helping bear aloft the White Dwarf, when would these three characters ever be present in the same time and place, and isn't the White Dwarf all about appearing from nowhere to cripple and enemy and save dwarfs in desperate situations? Why why why are they all together, it doesn't make sense!!!

But I like the model on a visual level

It's 'chunky' and the painting (at least in this shot) makes it look like a red shirt had a go at it. Great idea, having all the famous dwarfs together, but bad overall composition, as many are pointing out.

Being good friends with some redshirts who are quite simply some of the best painters in Australia i think this comment is too unfair.

And to all those who want a different model, too bad. Its a white dwarf mini for the white dwarf magazine. I think its a good model, its also quite plausible in a general sense (he's the white dwarf, all dwarfs would clambour at the chance to hold him up on a shield)

I love it, im gonna get it.
