Are you a 40k addict, or not? I'm more intersted in Epic & doing a 40k Chaos army than Guard, but I'm still going to get one!

We normally get a release date around the time pictures are released, any idea when we can expect to see this in the shops?

this has brought tears to my eyes...
It looks good, I'm hoping they use the Lucius baneblade as their pattern instead of the standard one, it looks like it for the most part. Although the churchy viewports look kinda silly to me compared to the FW models. I'm thinking this is going to be a mandatory purchase. great Ad by GW btw.

Nice. Only bits and pieces, but I think it gives a good impression of the final beast. My impression says: I WANT IT.

There are several differences clear on those shots between the plastic and the FW one. Not that that matters much, I imagine most people will be converting to some degree.
It does look as if they went a bit over the top with the rivets, although that may just be the paint job making them particularly prominent. We'll know soon enough

I'm uncertain on this one, some bits look really great in the pics, while others just don't look right. No doubt i'll buy one to complement my FW one, the more the merrier

I will have one. It will happen so there is no point in my deluding myself otherwise.
Kudos to Brim for the spot.

It's great!
Does anyone of the Forge World treadheads notice any loss of detail? It's very good for a plastic model IMHO. Still no news on plastic Scorpion. Shame. But maybe this one will sell well enough to make them do a Scorpion. |

Looks great from the small bit we've seen.
One small criticism though: I kind of hoped that the GW version would correct an odd thing about the FW one. Look at the front wheel/tread. There's nothing for the wheel to actually connect to. IE, there's no axle for the wheel to spin on. The FW one is the same, but if you look at the preview picture, it's clear that the GW one actually has the front wheel even further out than the FW one. EDIT: On a closer look at the GW one, I can see that while the wheel is slightly further out than the FW one, it does have some sort of background section that the wheel could be mounted on. The FW doesn't however, as seen here: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/maxbaneblade.htm Last edited by yankeeboy; 28-06-2007 at 17:21. |

Well i'm glad baneblades are becoming plastic but compared to the forgeworld varient this one is pretty limp. What is great about forgeworld's models is that they're veritably historical in terms of the look. This one certainly looks like it's been tarted up for the "extra gothic" mainstream 40k which isnt altogether welcome. I would have prefered a straight resin>plastic transfer.
