Seven is a good number they say, and I hope you'll agree the same applies to this issue of Firebase. This is the biggest issue of Firebase to date at a whopping 163 pages. Besides finding some of the best Warhammer 40,000 content on the internet, we hope you'll take a look at the impressive Epic: Raiders supplement produced for Epic: Armageddon by a group of dedicated Specialist Games hobbyists.

Rest assured faithful readers, we've got even more great ideas lined up for the future. Our monster is maturing.

The Bolter & Chainsword forum have produced Shall They Know Fear - The Bolter & Chainsword Guide To 5th Edition.

The Guide, which can be downloaded as a pdf, is intended to make the transition from the 4th Edition rules to the recently released 5th Edition rules of Warhammer 40,000 smoother for Space Marine players.

We decided it's time for improving our standard advertising pack: From now on we'll give you 2000 impressions/day instead of the 1000 we originally offered.

Of course these changes apply to all our current advertisers as well. We'll double your standard packs (or add another 1000 impressions in case you are using a customized pack)!

Double the amount of advertising for the same price - Warseer Ads!

Details about our advertsing deals can be found here.

After several months we have finally completed the Warseer (unofficial) Eldar FAQ. We hope this is a valuable resource for both Eldar and non-Eldar players alike. I'd like to thank all those who contributed to the discussions and question gathering - a great effort by everyone :)

The new Eldar FAQ has been produced as a pdf which can be downloaded from here [549 Kb; pdf] (right click -> save as!)

It was only a matter of time really. Upper Deck Entertainment, makers of the WoW card game, are now doing a Warcraft miniatures game too. It seems the format will be more akin to Warhammer Quest than big armies though. The name Studio McVey might ring a bell for GW fans out there (check out the fantastic work on their site), they're the people responsible for the WoW miniature colour schemes. Upper Deck have some some veteran sculptors on board too.

Sadly, I'm not too impressed by the flat colour (though that's probably more a limitation of the "pre-painted" format) or the miniature detail, in spite of the nice poses. Still, this is the kind of thing GW should be doing to save their plummeting stock price - going with a new long term license instead of closing business units whose products sold out in minutes. Frankly their continued incompetence, both as a business and in retaining creative talent, stuns me sometimes.

After lengthy deliberations we have decided to introduce a new system for issuing warnings to members who break WarSeer's forum rules.

The current Three Strikes and you're out system will be replaced by a Points based system.

If one of WarSeer's forum rules is breached, a Warning will be issued together with a number of 'Warning Points'. The number of points issued will vary dependent upon which rule has been broken.

The Warnings are not permanent and will expire 365 days after they have been issued.

For those of you who can't get enough of the superb Dawn of War computer game, prepare to have your battle-lust sated once more - the next expansion for the deliciously brutal Warhammer 40,000 RTS has just been announced. Soulstorm will add Dark Eldar as well as air units and a Risk-style campaign spread over an entire star system. You can read the full press release here. A second race will be included in the stand-alone expansion, however they have yet to be announced. Sisters of Battle? Maybe even Tyranids?

Hello WarSeer,

It’s been a while since we first tried to compile some FAQs to support the 40K Community on WarSeer and in that time many things have changed (opinions, rules, the number of questions!). We, the FAQ group, have made the first step in overhauling the current FAQs by tackling the most obvious one first, the main rulebook.
