View Full Version : Gentlemen, start your engines! (NEW ASH WASTE RULES ARE OUT!)
Let me start by saying... OH ***** YEAH!
This is what i've been waiting for!
Here are the new Ash Waste & Vehicle rules: http://www.specialist-games.com/assets/Ashwastes.pdf
The design is a bit basic, but it's all there, all 128 pages of it. I've already been working on my buggies and i helped to playtest the rules in later stages.
I've already had some seriously fun games with them. They're a bit complex, but not overly so. Once you get going, it's great. Just keep the damage charts close. Really close.
Your thoughts? :)
I've got the old one's, I'll be keen to spot the differences (though the old ones are only about a dozen pages long ;) ).
Bring on Mad Max madness!!
Oh yeah, i have the old ones too, but there's a whole bunch of rules for Ash Waste nomads, Shanty towners, Bounty hunter gangs and using regular house gangs in the Wastes!

It looks pretty comprehensive. I've had a quick skim through the pages and this is WHAT HAS BEEN MISSING to make Necromunda the best game ever!!!!
I've got some 1/43 scale jeeps that are dying to be converted.

I've read about half the rules now, and they seem to be pretty fun.
Adds a whole new dimension to the game.
But they are very poorly written.
In some cases I can't understand what they mean (And it's not that I don't understand the english).
Now I just have to modify them a bit so we can get vehicles/mounts IN Necromunda ^^.
Fire Mountain, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. And yeah, we'll prolly be using them for in-hive action too. :)
BTW, some of you might not be aware that a set of vehicle rules already existed once 'pon time. They do play similar, but these are a bit more fleshed out, so to say.
Also, everyone, feel free to share your vehicles and other ash waste material in this thread. I have a couple of buggies and a chopper in the works, myself.
Cheers,
Oskar

Erm, the link doesn't seem to work for me; any way to access it from the SG site?
On their home page, on the current article links on the right hand side.

Ah, dammit. Now I need to put together a biker gang. :D
This looks like an absolute blast - complicated, but tons of fun! I'll have to wait and see how my Orlocks do, but I will be watching this thread intently.
Well, looks like uni work will prevent me from doing any serious work on my vehicles, so here's what my main buggy, "Red 3", looked like a couple of weeks ago.

It's a bit of a WIP thing, i've acutually built it a couple of years ago, but now i'm revamping it. I've updated the steering & suspension system (aka built one :D), added a windshield, side platforms (love 'em) and some random gubbinz. Soon to come, some armour and a stubber mount. Considering some spikybits and a sort of a rollcage.

P.S.: Biker gang, eh? Could work, i'm sure. Especially with the new sidecar rules that can fit weapons. ;)

Nice feel and look to that buggy. What is it based around - or is it scratchbuilt? Either way, it looks like it's been in action for years - awesome attention to looks and to playability. :)
As for the biker gang, I think something along the lines of the raiders in the original Dawn of the Dead movie would be dead awesome - and would lend themselves to a really cool scenario!! A raid by a biker gang in a Zombie-infested dome, just hope your guys don't get knocked off their bikes!

I just noticed the Ash Waste rules myself. I haven't given them a good read, but it looks like they basically took GorkaMorka and tranfered the rules to Neromunda, am I right?
if that's the case, I may have to start a campaing soon...
The buggy is based on a torn apart toy buggy, but it doesn't really resemble it anymore. It's been repainted, remodelled, an engine added, etc. I'm working on some Mad Max 2 styled ones and a Big-foot-like thing. ;)

Well, the first Necromunda vehicle rules were more or less lifted from GorkaMorka, or so i'm told. (I never played GK) What you have here now is a bit of an improved and worked on version of the old rules that works with the current Necro Rulebook. What matters is how they play, and personally, i like it. ;)
