Well, for starters find the latest version of the list on the forum that's linked to in my signiture (In the Tyranids development sub-forum).

For seconds, it's very gribbly? :)

He's actually just making sure that you aren't using the very, very old version that is still listed at the Specialist Games website.

It's better in quality and balance than the Epic Chaos armylists (Which are fully official), IMHO.

Take that with a pinch of salt as he seems to have a personal issue with the CSM list and rarely avoids an opportunity to take a shot at it.

Even in situations like this when it isn't even the subject of the discussion :wtf:

It's not personal, but the Chaos Black Legion list is slightly overpowered, awkward in mechanics and badly presented, while the Lost and the Damned list doesn't even have unit descriptions for a decent chunk of the list, and often those units that are described are given just a single line of prose. Both lists need judicious TLC.

All of the above are facts, as certified by me. :)

It's not personal

All of which is OT and we shouldn't be discussing this here. My apologies to everyone

What do you mean viable? It's still under heavy development on some parts. Special rules aren't nailed down and that means that unit costs can change. And the tactics on using the list can change.

However the stats are probably quite near there (and depending the changes still done to the special rules so are costs). Another look at the units I think will be done after the special rules quite more fixed again. Bio titan weapons for example can change. It's been talked about quite much, but so far no variability yet.

Is it balanced? The special rules was changed quite much to downgrade Tyranids as they were too good. Is it enough? Hard to say yet. There hasn't been nearly enough testing on it to say much. But the trend so far has been more losses for Tyranids which is a positive thing.

Is it fair to play with / against? It's better than it used to be. It's not very new player friendly list though (as there is quite large effects on basic game play at this point). So it has a bit different feel than a regular E:A list.

Would I use it? I have been playing the Tyranid list now for several years. And I think it's going right way. However it is not final and should not be assumed to stay as is.
