Recently I found out there was a gaming club round the corner from me, when I went there for the first time I was suprised by the lack of terrain, and what terrain was there wasnt much.

So a few of us clubbed together some cash and have set about revamping the waning boards.

First up, we bought Darkseers wonderfully modular board, which he said he was going to skip if no-one would have bought it :wtf:

We were very lucky on Saturday when we discovered that GW Peterborough were having a big bits box sale. We picked up one hell of a bargain, for 60 we got some jungle plants, numerous sprues of lotr statues, the old 40k ruins, old plastic jungle trees and the gatehouse from the Fantasy fortress. In thi log I will be showing you what I make from the stuff we got, we split it up evenly so everyone could do something.

This log is going to show what Im doing. Ive also bought an Imperial sector for COD, whether I keep it for myself or try and sell it to the club, Ive yet to decide.

First up, a 4'x4' table. I know one of the halves is a bit bobbly, I learnt from my initial mistake on the other half.

Please note that I have still to add some tape round the edges of the board to prevent it tearing.

Next up are some pictures of some of the terrain Ive done, using cd's as bases was an easy but effective choice.

This is what Im currently working on, a ruined building to go in the huge gap on one of the wasteland board.

cool glad to see you getting your hands dirty doing a terrain log, good way i saw of doing rockey outcrops was to go and pich some rocks from the great outdoors, superglue them, spary black and paint ;)

Very nice building, if you want a tip, cut up sprues into 1-3cm peices, and use them as rubble! But i'm sure you'll do fine, but you can always see builders for offcuts of masonite and chipboard for bases.

Looks nice so far, I agree with Remoah chop all the sprues and use them. That's probably the only thing there good for after everything is cut off of them. And it looks good too.

Whenever I begin a terrain project I never finish it, or my brothers drunken friend steps on it, even when it's on a table. Great work Stormtrooper154, I love the ruined building.
