View Full Version : Rules for the Baneblade?

A silly question, perhaps, but where would one find rules on the Baneblade? FW's IA rules? The Apoc rulebook? Are rules included with the tank, like the Eldar Falcon when it was first released?

The most recent rules are the ones in the Apocalypse book. I don't believe there are rules in the tank's box. Hope that helps.

They're in the Apocalypse book. The older rules are in Forge World's Imperial Armor 1.

Thanks guys. Are the Baneblade rules found in the Apoc rulebook also applicable to normal, non-40k games, or would I use the IA rules for that?

IA rules for normal games. The Apoc rules are too powerull for small scale games.

well...to be fair, to even take a Baneblade by IA rules you have to be playing an Apoc size game anyway for the IA rules to allow you to take one.

For regular 40k games, the IA rules are more 'balanced' (if such a concept applies to FW stuff) for those sized games.
Use the Apoc rules for 3000+pt games (they are more balanced for apoc, as it is assumed that both sides will field SH units - in any case, there are strategems that reduce the effectiveness of it in apoc, something 40k lacks.)

Point of note, the rules in the softcover for IA and the hardcover IA vol1 for the Baneblade are identical. Points/stats/rules. As are the Shadowsword. If you can find a copy of the 2000 printing (softcover) it may be a cheap option to buying the coffee table book (as in, slap 4 legs on it and it will be a coffee table.). Otherwise, the 'updates' that FW have may be an option.
These are the rules for a 'regular' 40k game version. It's a little cheaper in Apoc.
