View Full Version : My Weekly Update

17-10-2007, 09:36
Well I have decided the only way for me to commit to finishing one project is to make sure I continually chip away at it. This project will be getting at least weekly updates with what I have been up to modelling or painting wise.

To kick it all off this is what is going to be in here:

Abaddon Conversion
2000 pt Chaos Space Marine Army (word bearers)

Tau Combat Patrol
2000 pt Tau Army
3000 pt Tau Epic Armageddon army
3000 pt Tau BFG Fleet

2000 pt Tyranid BFG fleet (just painting left to do)

2000 pt Deathwing Army

750 pt Ultramarines army

Orks! (no limit they are an ongoing project that always exists)

The only reason why I am doing the ultras is to have a little side project and to tie in with the game Fire Warrior. The word bearers are there for the same reason but they will be a fully fledged army

Here are some pics to date:

Deathwing (redoing due to bad undercoat, they will be in rogue trader colours ie black)

Have fun painting all that!

At the moment I am working on my Deathwing and BFG tau fleet I should have enough for a 750pt fleet assembled and primed tomorrow.

I have a test model for the deathwing all done but no camera, there will be pic updates tomorrow

that nid BFG stuff is fantastic, very very cool use of bits there. will keep a close eye on this.
also im liking your abbadon, i hate the old mini esp the hair always looked too big but on that body it looks right in proportion.

The Abaddon conversion looks many, mnay times better than the original.

I've seen the Tyranid fleet before and have to say again, love those organic death machines.

I really like that abaddon! Good job!

I know some of the pics i have already posted on the forums but now I have closed all those threads and just got everything in one place, Those pics are kind of a way to say where I am coming from. Cheers for all the positive comments so far.

I am hoping that the weather is condusive to me undercoating tomorrow or I may just have to wait until the weekend before I get too much painting done we'll see.

Nice approach to BFG tyranid ships, I like it, though the Hive Ships look a bit too much like floating carnifexes though :>.

A closeup of the painted deathwing terminator perhaps? He looks ace from this distant.

Man, that is a clever very cheap alternative to a tyranid hive fleet if you have a extensive tyranid bitz box. Can't wait to see more stuff painted up because those painted tyranid ships look fantastic.

Might nick your ideas!

Ok a few things that I am working on at the moment

Crisis Suits

750pt Tau Fleet

Hopefully I will get at least 1 ship finished today

And here is the entirety of my Tyranid fleet in all its undercoated glory :p !

18-10-2007, 09:36
Well its not quite finished but I like how it has turned out. My first Emissary class Tau vessel

19-10-2007, 05:12
Some pretty impressive stuff you got there.

Well it has been longer than a week since I have updated, but 'real' life has been getting in the way a lot lately.

I no longer have my Tyranid BFG fleet, sold it as I needed the money but from the ashes rises my Tau and what should prove to be a very 'unique' Ork fleet made from junked imperial and chaos cruisers/ escorts plus a whole lot of other bitz

The painted Tau fleet as it stands

I WILL update this more regularly from now on

I hope you're unemployed or a student skumbag, because that is a lot to paint!

Looks great so far though :)

Darkseer, I work a 60+ hour week so yes it is going to take a while to paint, but I probably wont be buying anything after its all done (I know famous last words) with having just bought a block of land etc theres not going to be much money left for the hobby.

I like the black-Deathwing scheme. IMO, it looks a lot better than the 'Official' scheme. Nice job on the BFG stuff, I like the split blue/yellow scheme.

29-11-2007, 00:57
Well work has continued on the Tau BFG fleet, everything else is taking longer due to things happening in real life

And a WIP of the Custodian Carrier

Oooo, I really liked your Tyranid BFG fleet. Mostly since it looked so much better than my own Tyranid fleet made out of bits. Unfortunately my own fleet marked the return to GW products after a 10 year hiatus so I un-cunningly made their tentacles out of green stuff only, no wire skeleton or anything. When I moved a while ago they all broke and lost their tentacles... :cries:

Nice use of bitz for the nids. I like the black deathwing, it's highlighted and painted very smoothly.

Can't wait to see some of the Orks.

Good Luck,

16-01-2008, 02:24
Nice job with Abaddon.

16-01-2008, 03:00
I likethe black deathwing scheme, it's what I use myself, and you've painted the first termie very well. Looking forward to seeing more.

16-01-2008, 07:11
Looking pretty good so far.

Where do you get BFG minis from? I've read the rules and the game looks pretty fun. Hopefully I can start it one day...

Keep up the good work though!

Direct order from either the UK or US online stores under specialist games, or certain models are available from forgeworld
