Bloodbowl is a fine game in GW's inventory. Some of its best work to date.

On board game geek it is currently rated 57. Iíve seen it rated as high as 49 (within the last 4 months). Thatís against Settlers of Catan, Battlelore, Twilight Imperium and War of the Ring. In comparison, 40K scores #1282 on BGG. (Scoring bellow Warhammer Fantasy 569, Battlefleet Gothic 628, Heroquest 507] and Spacehulk 85)

There has been little support for Blood Bowl and the Specialist Games, god bless fanatic/SG for staying alive so long. A game that brings 200 people to warhammer world for turny play must be a hit.

Years after GW have cut mainstream support for this game, people continue to play and enjoy it. Itís a good game, I donít know why GW doesnít see it. (I feel this way about most GW games.)

'Cause the average blood player spends about 1% of the amount the average 40k player spends?

I apologize if economic stuff like this is against board rules, but the answer to the question really is that simple...

Ok, Counter argument.

That means for less money any store could stock it, affordably. (Try convincing a store owner that $2000 dollars of inventory will pay itself off.) A 7*3 plastic spew could be created for each army with their ďnew injectionĒ process and it would cost them little to nothing, bringing the cost of Blood Bowl down to 25$ a team for the players. It could be the ultimate "gateway" game.

Better yet, ďsuper competitive playĒ and rule monkeys have been cited by many people as being the downfall of their core systems. These players would be welcomed under blood bowl standards. I might even go so far to say that it is a game made for completive fun. (Unlike 40K)

It is funny, I remember when I first saw people playing Blood Bowl, I was like pfft... these people are taking up room for 40k League games. Then I actually sat down and played... Now I much prefer BB to WHFB or even 40k or Gothic. Check my Fumbbl account even, over 600 games of Blood Bowl played! It truely is the best game GW game ever made.

Same story here.

I seriously think that some bloodbowl plastics would help out this hobby.

Fact - You can have 6-8 bloodbowl players for every 8x4 gaming board.

You're wrong there. It costs more to make a plastic sprue than than a metal mold, and seeing as SG don't have the resources to make any metal models at the moment, seeing BB with plastic figs is a pipedream.

With that in mind, ulrik03 is spot on.

It would be nice but do we really need it? Just use WHFB plastics. I made a nice HE team (I think) out of HE archer box set and extra bits from my WHFB HE army (silverhelm heads for blitzers etc). I know it would be nice to see support for bb, but after seeing what they did after version 4 of the rule book, im content with running my own league and moving on under house rules if something needs changing.

Wow, is there no hope for bloodbowl coming back from the dead?

(Darkson, you trying to make me cry?)

Hopes of a ressurection are slim. There were rumours of a space hulk re'release and all they give us is 40K Kill Team with some "extra rules".

A couple of decent "Game in a Box" introductions (space hulk and blood bowl maybe...) would be perfect for GW but they are not going down that road at the moment. I remember when you could buy Space Hulk in Argos...

Wow, is there no hope for bloodbowl coming back from the dead?

Originally, the plan that JJ had was that LRB5 would coincide with BBs 20th (or was it 25th?) birthday, and would consist of a new boxset with a printed (LRB5) rulebook, new plastics (teams never discussed), templates and a pitch, possibly a new design (though same size). Supposedly, he had the green light for this from above.

Then the bottom fell out for GW, and SG's budget was slashed to the bone, to the point where they can't even get new single figs out, yet alone a new boxset.
In theory, there's a complete dwarf team in greens ready to be cast up and sold (some greens were seen 2+ years ago), plus a skaven team was in the process of being sculpted, but that all died, and they've not been seen since (and of course, GW won't sell or license the masters to someone else to sell).

Will, there ever be a new boxset and/or BB promoted in the stores, etc.? It's possible, especially after the NAF WC overfilled Warhammer World, and SG being in line for more funds if GW has the expected upturn in fortunes, but I wouldn't expect anything in the short-term.

Not yet.;)
