As the title says, anyone have any clever ideas?

I got a whole bunch of stuff second hand and basically just clipped all the old bases away with a pair of snips. If they are stuck in with plastic glue you don't really have that much chance of getting the model off on a neat little round base so I don't worry about trying.

To base them after this I use cardboard from a cereal box and stick the models on using a two part putty called sellys knead-it. Its kind of like green stuff but drys rock hard in a matter of minutes. Using this method the bases are very durable and will last forever, though you won't be getting the models off the bases again to easily.

This method is also good for basing warmaster daemons up for your epic armies. Like these ones:

And some of my second hand minis ripped of bases. I leave the shiny side down when sticking them on card.

Nice, and those infantry look fantastic!

Cheers for that. Never even thought about not having to keep the old base intact.
