View Full Version : Is Epic popular enough to recieve it's own forum?

Just curious here, and maybe it's not the proper place for this, but I was wondering if you guys feel Epic is popular enough for it's own forum.

The SG site has pretty much died, and no offense to whomever, but the site it directs you to is a ghost town. This site has alot of traffic and alot of sub forums. I know that there are two or three hard core epic fans out there who would love to try and convert some gamers over to Epic.

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on this.

Do you mean a subforum here on Warseer? I don't think that the amount of threads here in "Other GW Discussion" about Epic warrents a new forum. Why not keep posting here - there is even a bigger chance of the ones that don't play Epic read the posts and get interested :)

There was some discussion about this not too long ago, but as a matter of fact Flashheart is right. It isn't much traffic here either.

Have fun,

I played EPIC back in the early ninties and loved it. I have not played since then but always wanted to get back into it. The idea of war on that massive of a scale was always exciting to me. Unfortunatly no one around were I live plays, I will have to wait for another day.

As far as dedicated epic forums goes there's EpiComms (http://www.epic40k.co.uk/epicomms/ikonboard.cgi?) which is a popular place for epic players.

Also the good people at SG have beefed up their own forums a little to add an extra general game chat section for each of the SG games.

EpiComms took up a lot of the slack when the dedicated Epic forum was closed so a lot of the same faces appear on there as do on the SG boards.

I'm wondering if this has lead to a bit of a lurker syndrome where people register or just look at whats going on and decide there's not enough activity to get them involved. BUT they keep checking every so often and see the same old faces.

For all we know there could be quite a number of old (and new) epic players caught in this vicious cirlce that don't feel encourages enough to get involved.

Kinda sad if that's true because Epic deserves to have a lot more support (and that's just from us never mind GW!) than it's getting right now.

Damn found out.
I mostly just lurk and read the posts.
There does seem to be a lot of epic related posts about though far more than any of the other SG's and maybe it will help to get those of us who have all there epic boxed up under the desk (ahem kicks box of titan legions) back into the game........

The change to a Specialist Games subforum I think was good enough. It has generated discussion on all of its parts in general where previously they competed with "What do you think GW should do ... "

I was fed up with all of the trumpetting that goes on in other GW. The SG subforum is as far as it will ever need to go to be honest, unless GW decides to make Epic a Core game . . .

We did discuss the possibility of giving each of the SG games it's own sub to start but traffic isn't so quick it's a necessity.
Probably why we don't get all the goodies we want from GW.

Epic is greeat and Jervis did a great work on the new rules. Just lvoe it. Had a game yesterday between my Bad Moons oorks against eldar. Very fun and lot of death. In the end it was a draw and a very funny game in a long time. I wished more played epic then now and that GW could still give a little bit more support. Like, please bring back the book Swordwind.

About a forum, would like it a lot but I guess the others are right. Not to many that posts here. But itīs a good game, deservies much more attention then it does now.
