Page 6 Orks restarted after a long break

Okay, so by generalising a project thread, I hope to keep this one running with many updates.

I'll begin with the terrain I have to work on.

Here's a small selection of the materials I'll be working with. bear in mind there is much more. As you may tell It's a cityfight terrain, but I'm hoping to build a half desert-half city based on the refinery map from quake wars.

Map My Project will be based around.

Some of the materials I'll be using, There is much much more.

Poorly taken photo of one of the ruins. It's WIP in this photo. I have finished it now but I don't have it here at the moment.

And my nids, still sitting there..... unfinished......taunting me....

constructive C&C welcome. "It sucks" punishable by the giving of evils

Comrade Wraith

Work on the board has begun. The section I'm doing at the moment is 3' by 5' and if i get my hands on another of these boards the table when complete should be 6' by 5'

So without further ado:

Some WIP shots of the board

Here the green area represents the section I'm working on. This board is very loosely based as i do not have much space to work with.

Again C&C welcome and requested

This looks promising! Really like that overview map :D You don`t happen to have one of a very dense and crumbled city? I desperately need to do something with my own terrain...

As for the nids, have you considered dipping? Dipping really fits them nids mighty fine imo :)

Comrade Wraith
14-02-2008, 13:56
Thanks. I hope this time i will actually finish this, i'll look up one on a city I think there may be a couple. I'll PM you.

I did consider dipping, The Laughing God has a nid thread where he dips them and they look quite nice, but i wouldn't have an idea how to go about it. Anywway that pic's a bit off so they arn't as glare..ey to the eye.

Comrade Wraith
14-02-2008, 14:54

This is the last of the work on the board for today, pavements have begun to form and two ruins are bing glued down. (hence the huge lumps of concrete....

I would like advice on building a simple bridge (for between the two raised Polystyrene areas) if possible.

Comrade Wraith
14-02-2008, 15:02
I would aslo like to know what I could do with this to make it into a landing pad type thing. any help would be appreciated

And unrelated to the board are a couple of WIP foxholes

And how do i post thumnails instead of whole images?

Death Korp
14-02-2008, 18:55

I like what you are doing with the terrain, it looks very snazzy :) I must say though, that landing pad would look better as a missle solo or something, like a unknown Nuclear missle store, forgotten by the Imperium....

Looks all good though :)

Comrade Wraith
14-02-2008, 18:58
Missile silo you say? My friend plays chaos and I have a small Imperial force so that could make for an interesting objective....

suggestion duly noted.

I always found warhammer and ICBM's a bit of a no go fluff wise.
The reason for this is becous I have never seen this kinds of rockets in the fluff.
The probably lost the knowlage.

If you made it look like it were lets say a dozen rockets (virus Bombs?).
They would be more consistent with the fluff.

Comrade Wraith

Excellent Idea, I think a few of those necron green clear plasticy(need any more adjectives?) things are required here...

Grumbeard Starbreaker
14-02-2008, 19:57
If you go for the virus bomb type, they will indeed be a must.
It is also funny becous of the bubbles that are inside of these plastics, these make it look very green goo like. Ofcours a red and a blue wire are a must. ^^

Excellent.Thankyou for the contribution

Work Work Work

Any idea on where to get some of these rods or similar things? i dont fancy paying Ģ18 just to get some clear plastic rods.

14-02-2008, 20:53
very cool idea's, looks like there is a lot of potential. considered my eyes fixed upon this log,

keep up the good work dude,

keep up the good work dude,

Uh-oh, that means I'll actually have to do some work:D

thanks great I won't let you down! I'm going to start gathering materials and paint....lots of paint... and do my best to complete the goal.

Tomorrow shoudl see some ruins i'm working on, plus the results of many years bitz hoarding

Comrade Wraith
15-02-2008, 07:59
I think now that I have decided to make it a launch pad for one sigle but reasonably large virus bomb, which makes it a bit of a better virus, espescially as my main army is now nids so it could be like a virus the imperium planned to be re assimilated by the nids later on.

Ruins and nids today

Comrade Wraith
15-02-2008, 08:39
And here we are ruins ready for working and re painting.

Here is an almost finished ruin I've done, just needs some fine details and tidying up but essentially it's complete except the exterior.

Here is the exterior of that ruin. The other wall is a badly painted grey ansd i plan to have the whole thing black bronze and silver.

The ruin I'll be working on today, needs repainting and more rubble. Also I'm considering removing a floor, to make a more church like roof space:

And finnally some warriors, one of them has an arm missing but I know where it is and I'll glue it on later:

C&C welcome and requested.

Comrade Wraith
15-02-2008, 11:47
Wow, 16 times as many views as comments...oh well.

Work on the main board continues with undercoating and sand beggining

By the end of today I hope to finish the roads and sand area (minus water effects, for which i'll use some really cheap tacky glue I've got.)

Comrade Wraith
15-02-2008, 12:24
Sniif, no comments, none, zilch, zero, zippo. Now i remember why my last thread bled out. Thanks to all ye who have graced this page with your comments.

But I shall remain strong and complete this....for once....

The sand on the board is now complete, and just needs tidying up, i am proceeding to paint the road

Comrade Wraith
15-02-2008, 14:27
And now for the mandatory off project post:

Behold the lemon clock!

Bask In it's almighty glory.

This must be a lasguns power source

Comrade Wraith
15-02-2008, 20:26
Okay, well no comments all day. I can live with that.

Tomorrow, more ruins and nids (finnally) to be done

15-02-2008, 20:51
no comments... that isn't right. GOod work dude, i love it, looks definatly like it will be a great 40k terrain set up

Comrade Wraith
15-02-2008, 21:23
Thanks very much! Wont dissapoint!

Get right to it sah!

I'm traking heart in the amount of views it's getting.

15-02-2008, 21:32
the almost finished ruin (the one with the black&red checkpattern) looks pretty nice, i am looking forward to see more progress on the table, looks promising :)

should i say something like "give it those stroggo-maggots!"?

Comrade Wraith
16-02-2008, 07:31
I'll try and get a better pic of that ruin, the lights not good, and well, neither am I at taking photos, but thatnks anyways. Um, I dont know what you should say, something along those lines I'm sure, I'm new to quake and quake wars.

Thankyee to all who have commentted on the humble log of a Wraith.

Now, I'd like to re introduce you to my friend fluffy MKII, a Trygon converted from a Fex, I posted this on my last logthinking it was a new idea, but on wandering around the project logs found that at least two had done it before me, but oh well great minds think alike. (Fluffy (MKII) is now going through serious surgery to make him more trygon-like, but I've run out of green stuff.) Here is an old photo.

Now, Here is what I have done (minus Try-Fex)

And....ahem...cough cough...here is what needs to be done....from almost half a year ago.(Many are almost finished anyway, thanks to batch painting)

plus...cough....a small battleforce as yet uncollected (the stockist whos shop I ordered it into went on holiday....and I never got round to actually collecting it...). so I have around 47 models, Including another carnifex, to complere

Comrade Wraith
16-02-2008, 11:39
Okay I'm pleased with myself at the moment, In a flurry of painting I have almost doubled the amount of models I've done. here we are:

I would like to finish all the gaunts today, except this guy who I'll spend some time one carefully.

Again, C&C welcomed and requested

*sorry for poor photo quality

Comrade Wraith
16-02-2008, 12:37
Here, a shot of the 'Wraith Workload". If I'm lucky I will finish by this evening, and then I will collect....another...battleforce....Idont feel too good...

Anyhow I'm taking a break for now. Enjoy.

Comrade Wraith
17-02-2008, 12:17
And here we are, I have now only nine incomplete models left!

The finished:

The 'to do' list

17-02-2008, 14:59
looks pretty interesting all in all. but itīs really hard to make out details on the nids with this picture quality :(

however, one thing that flashes to the eyes is the orange on the scything talons - looks quite nice :)

19-02-2008, 16:24
those are some fine looking nids and some fine looking scenery nice job mate :) i hope once to get where u are now :)

Comrade Wraith
05-03-2008, 16:08
Ok just some proof that this thread isn't dead, here a a couple of pics.

Lately ive been looking at my ton of unifinshed guard, so ive salvaged what I can and I'll be making a combat patrol. I have painted a few but alas they are at a friends so i can't take a photo, but i do have one to show you. The models also now have a Halo 1 style eyepiec and little cameras, some made from BFG turrets and others from the tops of pulse rifles/carbines (kindly donated by a tau collecting friend) but here's the basic idea:

The magazine is from a bolter (these mags are taken of an old, poorly painted unwanted blood angels army) and the sight is just the end of the lasgun cut off and glues on top. I've always wanted guard to look a bit cooler and more futuristic than they do, and once I get my models back I'll show you the progress I've made.

Also, unfinished ruin:

Max Jet
05-03-2008, 18:15
The Terrain looks pretty good, although I do not like the patchwork on the CoD Ruins ( the black and red colours) and it looks a little bit smeared. (Just my opinion. I'd also stay away from styrofoam as it is easy to use, but not so rewarding in the end. Plastic cards would have been better. The earth has been chosen very well!

The best part was the lemon clock! DUDE! XDDD
Are we going to see a potato clock also?

Comrade Wraith
05-03-2008, 18:20
Yeah, I'm getting rid of the checkboard, the squares arn't even so no matter how tidy you try and make it it gets messed up. Oh and polystyrene was all i had to hand. The problem with photos taken with a flash is that it shows allllll the tiny mistakes invisible to the neaked eye.

I have a potato clock:D it is not set up though.

Sheer boredom + Old electronics kit = the gretest ideas.

I'm thinking of a way to incorporate it into a game now.

Comrade Wraith
08-03-2008, 10:55
Here we go, souped up guardsmen. Sorry in advance for poor quality pics

The Squad so far

And close up on a guardsman, please bear in mind it's not finished, it needs more flash trimming and a tidyer paint job but you get the idea:

Also I should note that this is very far zoomed in, with your own eye you wouldnt be able to see this much detail so close, so the mistakes show uo horribly (any excuse not to admit my painting was rushed)

C&C requested and welcomed

Comrade Wraith
08-03-2008, 16:54

So here it is, almost a years work on nids......whoever said I'm not productive?

More guard to come soon, and if the weather improves, more work on the board also.

Thankyou to everyone who has commented so far. Each one spurs me on to completeing my projects.

Comrade Wraith
09-03-2008, 08:46
The mornings updates:

An almost finished squad:
I really hate flash, the skin on the models looks flat, It isnt in reality, and all those little mistakes are showing up....oh well

My morning's project, rescuing this tank:

And a small WIP terrain piece:

The weather is okay today, but changeable so I may work on the board later.

Until then.

I like the Trygon, he looks very snazzy :)

The guardsmen look good too, including the Terrain :) Want to see more from you!

Well as for the Silo/Landingpad

If its a Silo (for Virus bomb missile)

Get an estes rocket for the ICBM, as far as fluff goes it would be a Planetary Defense Silo

If going for "landing pad" Cover the gap in bottom, and install some form of ladder to get out of the blastwell.

No prob I like Eastwood movies what can I say.

27-03-2008, 16:46
I really like the Terrain. Have you tried "diping" your nids? There is a guy on the painting section that did some nice stuff with dip. I have found not many people reply to the posts. Makes me a little sad. There is a few people who will post on plogs but they normally only post on one or two. Almost no one will offer me any advice on my GKs..

Comrade Wraith
27-03-2008, 17:15
Ooh a comment! such rarity. thankyou.

I will, at someopoint dip these nids, lots of people are reccomending it.

Tomorrow or the day after will see more progress shots on various projects I have

28-03-2008, 06:44
Here is a link for dipping:

Comrade Wraith
29-03-2008, 15:49
Cheers, I'll do that sometime.

Now, A new project, which I will definately see through: Space marines *cringes at loud groan*. Yes okay, EVERYONE does space marines, but I will try and make this army as characterful as possible, and whats more, they aren't smurfs. I've made a command squad using dark angels, any idea for a decent colour scheme from a black undercoat for these guys? cheers.

Shown here are is the squad, from left to right: Standard bearer (minus standard) Veteran sergeant, Company champion, Apothacary facing the wrong way and plasma gunner.

This is the scratchbuilt apothacary Nearthicom/reductor arm, which took me the best part of an hour to find suitable pieces. Sorry for blurry pic

C&C please, and a colour scheme from black basecoat. I was thinking catachan green armour with black robes.

Wraith out

Comrade Wraith
29-03-2008, 21:05
Well, I've decided on a colour scheme, thanks for the input:D

just needs highlights, an ink wash and some general tidying up....oh and basing and it's done

I try, I really do try

29-03-2008, 22:53
<snip>and whats more, they aren't Smurfs.

...you are a lucky man, i donīt feel insulted :D ;)

looking forward to your finished marine paint scheme, red and grey go pretty well together. but i have to admit i am no fan of the colour of the trim on the shoulderpad, but i will wait and see if it stays this colour or maybe will be changed with the next painting stage.

is the grey at the front of the tank you need/want to rescue just colour or something else...?

Comrade Wraith
30-03-2008, 09:39
It was originally a dark brown in an earlier life, and had a mix of grey/brown earthy colour pasted on the front of a small guard trench fighting force that never really happened.

The yellow on the shoulder pads will be changed, I don't like it much either, but I'm struggling to find another colour I want.

Oh, and a final note, I don't hate smurfs, but I find many an ultramarine player has wandered into warseer accidentally whilst following a puffin and been burnt at the stake.

I'm still working on that same marine, the perfectionist in me is taking over, It must be at least 4 hours I've spent on it when ususally I'd only take 10 minutes per model.

Comrade Wraith
30-03-2008, 20:05
Here we have two of the command squad, the plasma gunner is nearly done. The photo is a bit dark, and very blurry sorry.

03-04-2008, 08:23
i like what i see here,

but your picks are a bit blurry to make out much, try puting the cammera on the tabble rather than holding it, workes for me ;)

Comrade Wraith
03-04-2008, 08:49
The skills of simple logic seem to hasve eluded me......thanks dude:) will do. I may have an updat today or tomorrow.

Comrade Wraith
03-04-2008, 10:08
The plan I have for forming my space marine army list is in three parts.

1. A firebase, made up of tactical squads and a couple of support vehicles and terminators. This will be used to add valuable fire support to the rest of the army, and if need be, form a reserve party in case of assaulty armies.

2. Mobile element. At the moment this is simply a couple of razorback squads and an assault suad which will zoom forward to claim objectiives and hold until supoport arrives or move to forward firing positions and catch the enemy off guard.

3. Flanking element, which is and attack bike squadron with multi meltas and 3 land speeder tornados. Harrass the enemy advance andpick off enemy armour.

So, your opinions on this plan? At the moment the risk I can see is fitting everything in the list and also each group being isolated from the others and piccked off. I'll draw up a list sometime.

03-04-2008, 10:21
2&3 are pretty interchangeable really but it's pretty solid.

That last dark pic may be blurry but it doesn't half make them look sinister.

There may also be an anti-shake function on your camera. ;)

Comrade Wraith
03-04-2008, 15:28
Thankyou Captain.

Hopefully theres an anti clumsy function aswell:)

03-04-2008, 17:03
And a small WIP terrain piece:

I like this, show me more!

Comrade Wraith
04-04-2008, 08:39
Haha, If only there was more to show, it's on my to do list but ill move it up to the top for today then.

I'm stuck on the colour for the tank chassis.

Comrade Wraith
06-04-2008, 08:21
First off, look what I woke up to this morning:

Okay to get back to warhammer here is a razorback! I completed this in a couple of hours thanks to some experimental tank brush techniques. I have a 5 man squad to accompany it. Would it be worth taking a heavy weapon in a razorback squad?
My excuse for the blurry photo today is that I have just woken up:)

10-04-2008, 14:45
The Terrain looks pretty good, although I do not like the patchwork on the CoD Ruins ( the black and red colours) and it looks a little bit smeared. (Just my opinion. I'd also stay away from styrofoam as it is easy to use, but not so rewarding in the end. Plastic cards would have been better. The earth has been chosen very well!

The best part was the lemon clock! DUDE! XDDD
Are we going to see a potato clock also?

Imho It's a ruin so just dull the colours a little and scuff them up a bit, I really like chessboard feel giving a hit of what kind of building it *used* to be.

The clock was a great interlude lol

10-04-2008, 14:54
We had snow sunday just past as well, only lasted a day though.

I prefer taking weapons I can fire upon debarking, such as a meltagun or plasmagun.

Comrade Wraith
10-04-2008, 15:04
Sunday for me as well, thats the UK's snow for the next decade or so then.

I will go with your suggestion, the razorback can support the squad on its own, and I'll use the extra points somewhere else.

@ Kirenia, I'll be kkeeping the check pattern, but not in the red and black, Ill find colours that suit it better. The Red and black was too...for want of a better insult......emo..... for my liking.

That lemon clock was pretty cool eh? Thats how bored i get in the holidays.

11-04-2008, 15:48
A trick for taking pics with a digi camera is don't zoom in for a close up, leave it on wide angle and move the camera closer. also hold a white sheet of paper or plastic behind the model too helps.

17-04-2008, 19:47
I like the ideas for the city, should be pretty cool. And keep posting, even if people aren't commenting that much. As it progresses, they'll have more and more to say

Comrade Wraith
17-04-2008, 19:51
Unfortuanately, exams have gotten in the way pf posts. should be some in a few weeks. And yeah, I'll stop complaining, probably acts as more of a detterant.

As for the lemon clock, I have one too, it also runs on potatoes :D

Comrade Wraith
17-04-2008, 20:30
I'd like to meet the guys(note to self: dont be sexist....) and gals who think all this stuff up.

The kind of people sitting down thinking and suddenly go: "I know exactly what the world needs! A clock powered by lemons!"

Many a bored person would simply rot away were it not for these people.

Come on, i want to see more!

Comrade Wraith
15-06-2008, 10:04
Right, after next week I will return to the routine of my projects, but in the meantime all I have to show are my planned colour schemes for the Space marines.

From left to right: Hq, Elites, Troops, Fast Attack, Heavy support.

The Laughing God
15-06-2008, 13:32
I like the color scheme of the marines. The guard look very nice too, and the nids are gonna look awesome dipped.

Comrade Wraith
15-06-2008, 15:31
As a veteran dipper yourself what do you reccomend I use?

17-06-2008, 22:13
Those Space Marines look really cool mate, not sure if i'm 100% into the idea of them having different colourings for classes but prove me wrong!

Also the view from your room is stunning, where do you live?

Comrade Wraith
18-06-2008, 08:49
Also the view from your room is stunning, where do you live?
I live in Wales, although I'm of English descent. (still fluent in Welsh, and in Set 1 in GCSE welsh quite proud of that, but enough of my life story)

I always chuckle when people say it looks stunning because it's so normal to me because I've lived here since I was born, but I guess it is.

In other news, I have actually done something! I've got time to kill before my chemistry exam, so instead of revising, I'll make my Hq. I'llpost pics of my chaplain and Captain/Master later tonight.

Comrade Wraith
31-07-2008, 23:57
Well I think thats three lies so far, but I am PROMISING pictures soon, this thread aint dead by a long shot. Finished command squad, nearly finished razorback squad and have a tactical squad and brand new commander assembled. Pictures within the next few days. Sorry but I've been engaged in many social outings (PARTY! MOCKS ARE FINISHED!) I'll be back on track by the weekend.

01-08-2008, 00:27

Remember that storm we had a few of months ago in easter, well for reasons unknown, the board was left outside and mangled.

Good to have you on.

I dont like quake wars personally but the maps are pretty cool I guess.

Erm, nice Lemon Clock? I see your putting your spare time into good use. :)

Razorback squad awaiting bases.

Comrade Wraith

WIP foxhole type thing.

Right I'm sorry for all the delays, here's the list of excuses:
Family visiting
Going out with friends
world domination
Couldn't find camera
Couldnt find camera charger

Today I shall finish the commander and order a devestator squad. The net few days will be dedicated to the tactical squad. Sorry for "bending the truth" several times, but I'm back on track now!

Also I've decided to do green trim on all the models and call it the 4th company, different trims would have looked to cluttered I think.

Comrade Wraith

Mini Update: More progress on the captain. I think I shall call him Ulysses ..... or brian (Captain Brian of the 4th:p)

I've listened to some of the photography advice also:D although from this angle that storm bolter looks huge....and also it seems he's dancing...

07-08-2008, 21:34
Nice to see you've gotten yourself back on track dude.

Now get some models finished so we can see the end results.

Comrade Wraith
07-08-2008, 21:53
Thankyou captain.

little quick update for tonight, poor photo but it's just a quick thing to prove that I am working.

Command squad amidst Junk 'n' stuff.

On the morrow I shall post individual pictures against a white background ofmy razorback squad and command squad and begin work on the tactical squad.

Those marines are rather nice!

Any plans for some larger scenery? huh huh? I like your scenery!

Comrade Wraith
08-08-2008, 08:43
Well there's a crahsed devilfish which isn't that big, but is rather sizeable. I shall work on it today.

Better pic of command squad. (too small?)

The apothacary is hiding behind the commander....his chainsword fell off:D

Comrade Wraith
08-08-2008, 09:34
Right here is the base for the devilfish(The devilfish was Kindly donted by my friend, and i painted it up and remoddeled it) which is ready but I put it down a minute ago and can't for the life of me remeber where! Very frustrating but oh well.

12-08-2008, 12:48
Glad to see you returned to the log!

Everything is looking pretty good. Keep up the good work!

Comrade Wraith
12-08-2008, 21:27
Thankyou Luftwaffles.:)

Just to prove I am working:

Better pics on the morrow

Comrade Wraith
13-08-2008, 08:15
Right the sergeant and one marine from the tactical squad are done. Pics soon once I finish the whole squad, which I'll probably do today.

Until then.

13-08-2008, 13:13
That terrain piece is looking pretty sweet

Comrade Wraith
13-08-2008, 14:06
Why thank you Captain, I was worried the poor, rushed photo would let it down. By now the Paint job has been tidied up and the tracks behind are longer. Photos tomorrow or friday.

27-08-2008, 18:59
That's a pretty nice looking terrain piece! I'm always a fan of snow bases too. How do you make them look so nice?

Mr Nipples
27-08-2008, 19:13
What are you using for the snow?

Comrade Wraith
28-08-2008, 08:26
Oh Damn, I almost forgot about Warseer! Such a flurry of activity has distracted me...

The snow is just gw scatter (any idea on a cheaper source anyone?) and its glued on in roughly 3 layers, very thinly over a dark base. Its actually quite by accident but the glue was thicker in some places than others which gives nice little clumped effects. Baisically, just layer on snow at different thicknesses.:)

I shall get back to working tomorow or the next day or...

02-10-2008, 23:47
It's been a month! Update! Motivate! Finish some nids! :)

02-10-2008, 23:51
Yeah Comrade it's been a while...

Comrade Wraith
04-10-2008, 08:05
It has been a while! See there was this racoon... and..... Has it really been a month? Blimey.

Ah well, to be honest its just been adjusting to the new year of endless coursework that has kept me from posting.... and sheer laziness. I havn't got any finished pics, but lots of in progress.

So we shall begin with my new purchase:

And here are my Space Marines as they stand:

Any guesses as to my next army?:

Building materials 10 A3 Sheets for a Ģ10! Unfortuanately I can't find the website again so I won't be able to get any as cheapas this again! FOAMBOARD!:

Comrade Wraith
04-10-2008, 08:14
Darned 4 Pic post limit....

And a test building, Honestly foamboard is brilliant stuff:

I won't be doing any more on the marines until I get a Codex (bar painting the ones I have, however I have seen this Codex, and worked out that what I have is at 1000pts under new rules), so until then I shall only be doing terrain. Now, I am going to say "more terrain during the day" but as we know I have said this in the past and It has turned into " More terrain during your lifetime".... and that might even be stretching it.

04-10-2008, 08:45
The building looks very like the kind you see in the 'how to buid' section of the cityfight book.

Good work

Comrade Wraith
04-10-2008, 08:50
Darn you've rumbled me:D

Comrade Wraith
04-10-2008, 11:18

Look how good I am! Updating twice on the same day!

The bare bones of a factorum type building here, I will be adding two rows of catwalks and more little details.

A word on the Black Reach set. Really, It is a great box, tons of minis, brilliant quality, cheap, and a pocket rulebook to boot! All the models are amazing quality, but I do have a couple of peeves.

First off, MOULD LINES. My god, the tactical marines are covered in them, and all over the details so you end up damaging the details when you file or cut the mould lines off. Also would It have been so difficult for GW to have modelled a different head facing! Why are they all looking forwards! The orks are generally okay though and in my opinion superior quality to the marines. My fingers are also raw from all the spikey bits on the orks :cries::D

But these are minor in face of the price and overall quality, however I found that the orks werre better quality than the marines.

04-10-2008, 11:34
indeed where u get ur foamboard
i want some

oh the joy

had fun popping ur airbags ?

Comrade Wraith
04-10-2008, 11:36
Internet, dear chummm...........p.....

Cant for the life of me remember which site did it for Ģ10 which is slightly annoying, but there are plenty who do 10 A3 sheets for Ģ12-15 which isnt a bad amount

And no, I'm saving them for later:D

04-10-2008, 11:38
oiooh good good i might get some

when are we going to proceed with the construction of the table then my friend

my house or your studio?

04-10-2008, 12:51
Nice factorum

Comrade Wraith
04-10-2008, 13:08
Righty then, finished the weird, big, manufactorum...thing.... bar pipes and things, and also halfway through a third ruin. Should be finished with that in an hour, after that I'm taking a rest.

04-10-2008, 13:12
thats some good stuff
so are we making a city based board or half and half

Comrade Wraith
04-10-2008, 13:13
Well, ideally a whole city board, but I'm far too lazy to do that many buildings, so it will probably turn into a half/half board, maybe with a large plaza type thing or a motorway

04-10-2008, 15:32
oooh very intreging i need some foamboard/cardboard to make stuffs :p

Comrade Wraith
05-10-2008, 17:15
Right A quick update, this thing took the bast part of a day, and unlike the marines I enjoyed painting it

I may have two Nobz.... err big orks (I'm going to write a letter to GW about that) ready by this evening

I really would reccomend getting black reach for ork or marine players, such beutiful models....

Comrade Wraith
05-10-2008, 18:03
Better Pic, the Checks need some work and a few details need to be fixed, but overall I'm quite happy for my first Ork model, also, no will be able to look at it this closesly, but i mayaswell clean it up anyway

05-10-2008, 18:09
Your buildings could be a shanty town/truckstop

Make a nudey bar

Comrade Wraith
06-10-2008, 17:40
Your buildings could be a shanty town/truckstop

Make a nudey bar

I don't dare to imagine what an ork "nudey bar" would contain hehe.

Right then, Here we have my Warboss and his retinue of No-.... "Big Orks":

Over Exposed Picture:

Warboss and two completed Orks:

Production Line:

And this:

Righty then, I have finally found an army I enjoy painting! I may even complete this one! So all I have left to say is WAAAAAAAGHH!!

06-10-2008, 17:49
not bad
shame my marines will be melting their fases :P
4 way patrol game in half term?

Comrade Wraith
12-10-2008, 18:32
Righty ho! here are some orkses, I was meaning to get all of them finished by today (I painted 6 in one go,I am very proud of myself) but failed miserably, seeing as my chaos black spray has decided to wander off somewhere....

Finished pile, Warboss, 5 Big Orks and 6 Normal Orks

To do list.... for now

The two squads.

Well now, This is the beggining of a new era, an army I enjoy painting. Nxt purchase shall be a trade, if Dameneted there gets a black reach box, I'll trade the marines I have from my boxfor the orks he gets, andI will have more fun painting.

I'm off to find my Spray paint. Chow.

Comrade Wraith
14-10-2008, 18:54
Quick update, I have done a few more orks, and am in the process of doing more, I am about three quarters through the mob.

Sorry for the rushed pics, but I'm too "in the zone". These orks have been done to a gaming standard, I'd like to think I'llcome back and redo them one day

Comrade Wraith
16-10-2008, 15:57
As an intermission between painting orks (only a few more to go now!) I found a spare old terminator, so thought I'd have a go at bulding a truescale marines that everyone seems to love, anyway here are the begginings

The shoulder pads need cleaning up, And maybe a bit more bulking out, but I'm happy with it so far, considering its my first proper scuplt.

I'moff to paint more orks.

Just to share with anyone who takes a fleeting glance at this thread:

Looted Wagon WIP

Looted Wagon pretty much finished:

The View From my window on this glorious afternoon!:

Comrade Wraith
14-12-2008, 15:58
Right I've been absent for i think it's 5 weeks because my laptop decided to commit suicide. However on the upside, I am getting a Ģ400 refund with which i shall be buying an xbox 360 and a computer (in components to lower cost). I have signed on on psp but typing a comment on that is far too laborious. Now on to the updates.
No real new stuff, but I've gone back and redone my Big orks (my new ork vocabulary for Nobz, also includes: Orks instead of all instances of "boyz",) and Warboss and I'm beggining on my rank and file orks. What do you think?:

Comrade Wraith
10-05-2009, 00:45
By the gods It's been a long time!

Well I have some time on my hands now so I should be able to get some orks done! First I present to you a hastily cobbled together picture of my warboss conversion. This was taken using a webcam, I wont have access to my camera until monday so until then here's a preview:

10-05-2009, 09:16
That looted wagon looks pretty awesome, the warboss looks suitably 'Orky'
