I will be playing my first game in five years this afternoon and was wondering what you thought of my armylist.

Keep two things in mind:

1. I haven't played a single game with the new rules
2. My infantry don't go out

Here is my armylist:

Your questing knights are a huge Points-sink, and will feel the touch off every cannon ball/ huge rock/ flying spear out there. They do not need the back up to be effective.

Give the Yeomen a musician for that +1 ld on rallying.

10 KoTR + Lord, makes 11 models? Why. Nine is the maximum I would field even with characters (8 +Lord/paladin).

Also 25-30 is optimum for M@A's, I field two with one led by an Empathy Paladin.

I am also a little confused by your BSB, I always go 'warbanner' + Virtue of Duty (I think that's it) for the +3 auto combat res.

Anyway, sorry if that is a little over critical. Hope it's helpful, but feel free to ignore it :D

I never fielded Questing Knights before but thought they would be nice as with the new rules there is a big difference in strength. If they turn out to be useless I will drop them next time and take more KoTR

Then the MaR, the extra 5 models to 35 cost me only a few points and makes the unit 7 wide with max ranks all the time, even if they lose some during the initial combat.

With the KotR unit, don't I get 2 more attacks if I use 11 instead of 9? This new formation for my knights (compared to the old lance) is a bit strange to me. If I drop them i can consider the warbanner + virtue of duty.

So is 9 KotR better?

So is 9 KotR better?

More flexible, if it is lost is is not too much of a loss, but still able to give a good punch.

I field three lances of nine + infantry support. I have dropped my questers in favour of KoTR, as much as I love the models!

But it is all personnal preferance.

I like to give my lord with the silver lance the virtue of the ideal for the extra attack, plus all the other increased stats. Makes him a real rank and file killer.

The current best setup for BSB is warbanner and virtue of duty. It is debatable if he can take the enchanted shield. (So don't)

I'd drop the third paladin. First of all you can't have two enchanted shields, plus I just don't see the points being worth it.

If damsel is just for magic defense then drop the 2nd lvl. Personally I would also consider not even taking her at all. You have to ask yourself if how much can your opponent really kill with magic before you charge them on turn 2? Is it more than what you are putting into magic defense? (Or rather what your limited magic defense can stop?) If the answer is no then drop the damsel and just get more knights.

There is no such thing as swordsmen.

I would really get more knights. If you want to keep the troops it's up to you (I'd drop them) but you really need more lances out there.
