Pages : [1] 2

Hey everyone,

I'm gonna give my log a new start. Not really good at the whole internet thing, so please go easy on me. I'll be featuring some different stuff. Mainly 40k and fantasy, but maybe some terrain and Space Hulk as well. c&c always welcome:)

first a showcase to see where I stand now. I deleted the older crappy pictures and posts. Up to a new start.

After that I'll randomly add more units.

10-03-2008, 22:34
Can't believe I'm first. I love the painting, and that banner. You might wanna use matt varnish though...

16-12-2009, 18:04
I still have trouble making decent pictures, I had never thought it would be that difficult. So first up will be my Orc's and goblins, vampire counts and Space ork armies.
let me try to post an image, too see how that works again

16-12-2009, 18:17
I figured out how to do the image thing again. These are some snap shots of my orc and goblin army. It is mostly a revamp of my very old orc army and some new units. I keep adding new units from time to time. More on that later

16-12-2009, 18:23
here is the rest:

tommorow some pictures of my vampire counts. Starting next week I'll also post some w.i.p. of a new orc unit.
have a nice evening

ps admin? could you please move this to random project logs?

16-12-2009, 20:34
So I thought why wait untill morning? These Bad Moon space orks are sort of a side project at the moment. Although i do feel the urge to paint some more of these.

Next up will be Vampire Counts. After that probably Witch hunter, Death Guard and last Chaos Renegades.

It's just to see how far i stand with my projects. After that I'll randomly paint and add new stuff. Mostly to clean out the closset.

17-12-2009, 12:51
hey everyone,

I thought that before going to the christmas drink at work I could post some pics from my Witch Hunter army. I've been working on it for some time. Every year I add some units. Hence the difference in paint jobs. Latest additions are Saint Celestine and the Grey Knights.

Next up will be another chimera to transport those arbiters. But more on that later. Here are the snap shots:

Have a nice day!

17-12-2009, 19:19
Before going to bed I thought I might post a few pics of my VC army. As you can see I am a sucker for GW's red period. You can find that color on every model I paint. The VC are more of a side project. Currently I am building some zombies. Some pics of those soon.

Only the banners could use some more work. In time I'll try to freehand something.

Have a nice evening!

18-12-2009, 18:55
This is the unit I am currently working on. Some big uns with spears.
Hope you like em

Have a nice weekend!

18-12-2009, 22:26
I have a question. Is there any way that this tread can be moved to the random project logs section? Who can I contact over such a request?

could someone help me with this?

thanks in advance;)

19-12-2009, 11:46
okay, so there are more then 500 views of this thread and nobody can give me an answer to my question? It would be very helpful, as this thread clearly has a place in the random section.

19-12-2009, 12:36
Ok, we left him dangling long enough ;)

Request at the mods. Simply pm one of them. You could do this via the helpdesk, which shows at the bottom of the main page, if you are logged in.

Nice collection, btw. I like the orcs a lot. Very classic take on them, which is always good if you ask me. And the undead are cool too!

Maybe you could make some more shots of single minis or units?

And keep it up!

20-12-2009, 17:51
Thanks very much Bart, I'll be sending the pm right away.

The orcs are a favorite of mine too, I'll see if I have some time next week for some more individual shots.

For now some pictures of my Death Guard. I have always used a lot of daemons in my DG. Now I use them occasionaly as lesser daemons, but also as a pure daemon army as well.

some of the elite choices

Nurgle marines

heavy suppport

the great unclean one

the finished dread

20-12-2009, 17:59
some rhinos

dreadnought number two

daemon prince

wip sorceror

and my new toy

A lot of stuff in this army was painted years ago. My favorite is the great unclean one. I found it in a bit box with the arms missing. The sword is of an old daemon prince and the arm and tongue were my first attempt at sculpting.

The arm and tongue were later found and I used those bits on the dreadnoughts.

Have a nice evening and untill next week!

20-12-2009, 17:59
WOW, To begin with i wasn't very sure about this log but i love the painting on the witch hunters and those nurgle tanks are the dogs private doodads!

EDIT: same time post and now that i see the last of those pictures all those nurgley things are beautifully disgusting!

24-12-2009, 15:06
Hey everyone,

just thought I should post some pictures of my renegade guard army. It is a project I just started recenty. Really easy color scheme, again I use a lot of red in the models.

It just strikes me as a aggresive color. Detail and squad markings will be added when I know how i will use this army. I want to paint some more before deciding.

army shot:

command 2:

heavy weapon team:

24-12-2009, 15:09
Squad 1:

Squad 2:

There you go. I wish everyone a merry christmas, and happy holidays!!

26-12-2009, 09:23
Morning everyone,

these are the pictures of the finished orc big un's. These are the first ten of what will probably be a unit of 25.

The next thing I will be working on will be some more renegades.

have a nice weekend!

27-12-2009, 06:53
Ow lovely stuff! I like the orcs & goblins and the nurgle the most (got those armies myself)! Your figures look really colourful and would look really good on the tabletop I think!

Where do you live exactly? We play in Kontich (Antwerp) mostly.

30-12-2009, 21:54
Thanks for the compliments. There are a few things I would like to improve in the future. Most importantly I need to put some more work in my basing. It is still very basic.

And i also hope to make some more conversions in the future. Most of the stuff is straight out of the box combined with some bits.

Shadowhunt3r, sorry but I forgot to change something. I recenty moved back to Tilburg after finishing uni in antwerp. I used to live in the Nationalestraat for a couple of years.

Although I would love to move back in the future.
I do come to Antwerp once in a while to visit friends and go out for a beer. Where do you play? In the store or in 'de'n outpost'?

Have a nice new years eve everyone. Keep your fingers safe!!
Next update will be soon. Renegade squad almost finished, after that I'll paint some marauder horseman for a new project.

02-01-2010, 15:50
Happy new year everyone!

Just a small update. Some wip shots of my latest renegade guard. I replaced the shield on the lascannon with an icon. What do you guys think about it?

Have a nice evening!!

02-01-2010, 21:12
I must say that there are some seriously impressive looking armies in here. It is great to see fully painted armies and even better when they are well painted and have a great theme. All I can say is you must have the patience of a saint to paint so many models.

I think my favourite so far are your Fantasy Orcs, very 5th edition. I love it!

Keep up the good work and I look forwrad to seeing more.

04-01-2010, 21:20
Thanks Spikedog, i must say your projects look pretty sweet too.

My year started really....drunk, but still i managed to get a game in this weekend. We played one of the scenarios from the Albion campaign book, the one with the ogham stones. I must recommend it. Really good and challenging scenario.

My Orcs put up a good fight, but in the end the High Elves won. Highlight was when my night goblins won and chased Eltharion the Grim after 4 rounds of combat:wtf:

I also finished my new squad of renegades.

Tommorow some pics of my new wip. Sleep well.

07-01-2010, 10:04
So my wip for the moment are some chaos space marines. I want to have some diversity and not only nurgle marines for the Chaos army.

These wip marines are somewhat a tester. They are supposed to be Hakanor Reavers. I like the idea of rogue marines with no specific allegiance.

The champion was painted a while back. I'm not really happy with the bone parts yet. What do you guys think?

07-01-2010, 10:46
I'm impresed by the amount of figures painted and by the high standard.
My favorite army is your O&G I really like the look of them.

I miss the good 'ol days of monsters with red nails and and the growing of bright red wood to be made in to weapons. It was a more colourful time. :)

19-01-2010, 18:11
Thanks Malenky, I love those colourful times too. You do a good job as well, I really like your space orks.

here is the squad Hakanor Reavers finished.

chapter badge

this is the wip shot of my latest project. An Orc Boss on boar that will fit nicely in the new unit big un's with spears.

Have a nice evening!!

19-01-2010, 21:00
very nice i love the renegade guard keep up the good work

20-01-2010, 00:01
Fantastic log, any chance of more shots of the sisters as thats quite a cool army.

22-01-2010, 12:20
Hey there! Thanks for the comment in my log. So you are participating in the Frenzy as well, no? Which army will you be deploying? I surely do not hope your Renegade Guard... That would put mine to shame! :P

Anyhoo, nice log, very eclectic. I like that. I thought I posted a comment here before, but I guess I didn't. I should've though! Keep it up, looking forward to seeing more.

Well, if anything, hopefully we will meet on the fields of battle! ROARRRR!!! (that was sad...)

25-01-2010, 20:09
@murderdoll: thanks, pretty pleased myself. Squad number 4 is under way :)

@gomezaddams: thanks a lot man, the sisters were my first 40k army. Some more shots of them will come eventually, allready working on some new stuff, anything in particular you want to see?

@daniel36: Did you have a good time at the Frenzy? I didn't participate in the tournements. We just checked out the the stands. Bought the plague ogryns from forgeworld, wich was nice. Then me and my friends did some 40k in the bring and play area. How was your tournement? Will you post some kind of report?

Here are some pics of the finished orc hero on his boar.

And of course my latest WIP, some grotz for the Space orks

Have a nice evening everyone. Untill next time

26-01-2010, 09:30
Those Grotz are the coolest!!

Yeah, I had an okay time at the Frenzy. I did get a bit of a headache during the second game, which lasted all day. But all in all, I had some fun battles.

I will post a couple of pics once I feel brave enough to photoshop them all to size. I'm a bit busy now.

So did you have a good time? Started work on the Plague Ogryns yet? (I wish I had some!)

04-02-2010, 20:02
yo daniel,
good to hear that you had an okay time there. I had expected more of it, but no complaints really.
Work on the plague ogryns has not started yet. I must say that they are more impressive than on the pictures on FW site.

The grotz are finished though. These are just the start of what will be a somewhat larger unit in the future.

next up will be another unit of renegade guard

Hope I can get some work on them done this evening. Going to try one of BL audio books as well haha.

have a nice evening everyone
cheerz, Tim

10-02-2010, 21:26
So here is another update. Just finished another squad of renegades. This is allready the fourth squad, and luckily I'm still not tired of painting them.
Again squad markings are missing. I will add them later, after some playtesting.

While painting I listened to one of the Black Library audio books, Heart of Rage by James Swallow. And I must say that it was not unpleasant. Some of the sound effects were a bit dodgy. But overall a good and fast action story.
In the future I'll be doing some Blood Angels, and this book got me in the mood for it.

with no further delay:

The new WIP will be 8 big un's with spears to fill up the unit I started a while ago.

Sleep well,
cheers, Tim

19-02-2010, 09:01
hey everyone,
just a quick update on what is going on:
the last Big Un's are done, so is the unit for now.

here are the new wip pics. A unit Leadbelchers that will be serving as mercenaries in my O&G army. And a warboss for the space orks.

that's it folks, c&c always welcome, have a nice day.

cheers, Tim

19-02-2010, 14:20
Wow.... that is an amazing amount of armies and models you own and have painted up!

Your painting style is also progressing with each army, which is awesome!

Can't wait to see more!

20-02-2010, 05:42
Nice stuff man. I love the checkering on the night gobo unit and the rest of your ocrs are coming out great. One Love

07-03-2010, 22:01
Thanks Putty and Lord_of_end_times. You guys aren't doing a bad job yourself.

The leadbelchers are sort of finished for now. I used them in a game last week and they didn't kill a single high elf with their cannons. Not a good start for the ogre mercenaries but will give them another chance I guess.

The warboss for my space orks is also done. Just simple straight out of the box.

and with retinue

07-03-2010, 22:05
and of course the new wip. A night goblin boss to go with a new unit of night goblins that will be added later.

I will also be painting a culexus assassin.

Sleep well everyone and until next time.
cheers, Tim

Crisp looking Orks!

Just a tip about the Lava crack effect,

To have them really look more orgasmically awesome (the work you have done is already awesome), go over some parts with a little bit of red ink so you have more tonal variety (don't need to blend, just dab a little). And use a smaller brush to sharpen (and tidy up) some edges with black so you have a really sharp looking fissure crack effect.

Nonetheless awesome work so far!

08-03-2010, 08:39
hey Putty,

thanks for the advice! I will be painting some more Hakanor Reavers in the future, and I will certainly make use of your advice.

have a nice day

cheerz, Tim

10-03-2010, 22:58
Here is a 'small' update, the night gobbo boss is done. Gotta love those latest goblin heroes. I think they have a lot of character.

Also started working on a unit night goblins for my new hero to lead. It will be a mix of the latest night goblins with some of my old metal night goblins I dug up from my bit box.

first rank wip:

sleep well,
cheers, Tim

11-03-2010, 19:56
Evening everyone,

today I had a day of from work. Went to town with the wife, get her something for her birthday. When we got home I really wanted to finish some models.

So I dug up some wraiths in the bit box and painted them up for the vampire counts army. Really simple paint scheme. But hey..they are ghosts.

and all of them together:

Also found a nice feral vampire that is now officially wip:

have a nice evening
cheers, Tim

11-03-2010, 21:08
Wow, so much stuff, all over the place...reminds me of someone.
You have way more painted, though.
The Grotz are fantastic (the checked pattern on the one guy's bandana is insane), the Ogres are lovely, I really like the blue tinge on your Wraiths, the Sisters army is more than impressive and the green on your Death Guard is really unique and has a great effect.
Keep it coming!

14-03-2010, 01:26
Wow, you sure have many armies, and well painted too. I must admit that I'm more than a little jealous.
I'm really looking forward to the strigoi vampire. :)

14-03-2010, 08:25
man, completed, painted armies for both 40k and fantasy. They look great. Defiantly something to aspire to.

18-03-2010, 10:55
Wow guys, that is just too much praise. You're all doing a pretty good job as well. Thanks for the comments.

Just finished the culexus assassin. Really fast paint job. Not a big fan of the models. Group shot as well.

I also started to work on a herald of nurgle for chaos daemons. It's an oldy I found somewhere in the bit box.

Have a nice day. I'll be back soon with some finished night gobbos and vampire.
cheers, Tim

31-03-2010, 15:37
good day,

it has been a while, last week I finished my masters degree. So that took up most of my spare time. Today I finally got the feral vampire done.
The model was a lot of fun to paint. I did take the easy way and used a lot of the washes on this model.
I also got some work done on the night gobbos. They will look very much the same as the first unit.

Also a very early new wip: a armored sentinel for the renegade guard

hopefully i'll be back with all the night gobbos painted next week, untill then!

04-05-2010, 14:47
Hey everyone,

it has been a while. Real life is a bit hectic at the moment, graduating and buying a house takes up more time then I anticipated.
It took a while longer to finish the second unit of night goblins. Nice mix of old and new models. The Renegade sentinel is very close to completion as well.

The new WIP are three night goblin fanatics. One of them is a real oldie i dug up from the bit box. It didn't have the original ball so I found him one from a later edition.

Enjoy, as I said the sentinel will be up soon. Still haven't figured what to paint next or for what army. If you have any ideas or wishes let me know!

11-05-2010, 21:20
hey peeps,

the renegade armored sentinel is sort of done. I guess there is a bit more detail work to do. But for now it is finished , I have the urge to start on other models so.
Really nice kit from GW. I'm a big fan of plasma weapons so that's the reason the model is fitted with a plasma cannon. I also used brass etch from FW. Really nice stuff to work with. For the rest I tried to keep the model simple, and in line with the other models.

There you go. New WIP will be up some other time.

12-05-2010, 10:47
Nice. I like how you did the lenses and the little windows.

12-05-2010, 11:57
Thanks EmperorNorton. You can see that I was still motivated when I painted those.

Next up will be a Chimera for my inquisitorial stormtroopers. This tank has been sitting on my desk for too long ( about 4 years) . I hate painting chimeras. Still this is the last one. There is some paint on it allready, now it is time to finish it.
Standard color scheme from way back.

Hopefully it will be done soon!

12-05-2010, 14:56
The sentinel vcame out very nicely. Kudos.

16-05-2010, 20:29
Thanks Leonmallett, I really like your plog too.

Today I finished the fanatics for the second regiment night goblins. All the Night goblins are started to look like an army by itself. I took some shots of that as well. I really like the idea of an all night goblin army.

Next up will be some more squig hoppers so I can field two units or a big one:)

Have a nice evening, and see ya soon!

16-05-2010, 20:36
Great looking night goblin army, all the red makes it look like squig galore!

20-05-2010, 01:41
Your fanatics came out great as did the rest of the army. Keep up all the good work. One Love

24-05-2010, 20:27
Thanks guys!

Here are four more squig hoppers I finished a couple days ago.
Squig Hoppers always work for me on the battlefield. So I'm really happy I can field two units from now on.

I've also started to clear out some bit boxes. In the first one I found some bats. I painted these up for warhammer quest, I also found some more critters, a pump wagon, sisters of sigmar, another hero on giant squig  and Grimgor Ironhide with a command group.

new wip:

Have a nice week!
cheers Tim

25-05-2010, 20:19
Nice to see your still working on your armies Tim! I especially like your Orcs & Goblin army.

Keep up the good work.

, Jos

03-06-2010, 11:22
hey Jos, buddy,

thanks, funny to meet each other here. You still paint? Haven't seen you in a while, you still live in Tilburg?

Anyway, i sort of finished up the last chimera. I really dislike painting tanks, but this one really bugged me. It is a terrible paint job but here we go:

The new wip will be a big project, a shadowsword to go with my chaos armies. I will paint it up in the colors of my renegades.

Have a nice weekend! cheers

03-06-2010, 12:09
Waaaaahhh Shadowsword!!!

I am jealous. I'd probably will never get one because I don't buy what I can't use.

Great looking Chimeras btw.

08-06-2010, 22:53
hey putty,

thanks man, you'll be happy to know I used the big tank today in a spearhead battle as a banehammer. Really bad luck though, it got blown up by a manticore really fast:mad:.

The black orcs and Grimgor are done. Next up for that army will be a pump wagon!

And here is a wip shot of the super heavy. Added some spiky goodness and also a lot of brass edge insignia from Forgeworld.

A tank commander will be added later.

Have a nice week!

09-06-2010, 11:59
Good night man, you have about 6 armys and they all look awesome! I love your crisp clean style, keep it up.

01-07-2010, 21:39
hey everyone,

it has been a while, very busy buying a house and all that, hardly any time to paint.

Thanks Bravey I do my best..sometimes. haha thanks.

Still I got something done. A pump wagon to be precise. Also our group has fired up a campaign for this summer. This gives me a reason to paint up some more Chaos marines. First up are some plague ogryns that I can also use as spawn.

The campaign puts me up against Eldar, ultra marines and Imperial Guard. Lucky enough I won my first match against the guard. I'll try and make a few pictures of our games.

Pump wagon :

ogryns wip:

till next time!

06-07-2010, 21:22
good evening!

The plague ogryns are done. Quick and easy, for now I'll be using them as spawn.

next wip will be some more Chaos: a havoc squad with 3 missile launchers and a lascannon.

untill next time,

07-07-2010, 13:58
Hey everyone,

I thought why not put up some more wip pics. Currently working on the havocs, a spear chukka, and on the banehammer.

Added some old marauder crew.

My cabinets are steadily getting too small to hold the collection . Better get some new space soon.

07-07-2010, 14:01

sorry the quality isn't that great, just to give an idea

07-07-2010, 14:13
Guhhhhhhhh drool.... Jealous!!

07-07-2010, 14:17
hey putty,

thanks man, you'll be happy to know I used the big tank today in a spearhead battle as a banehammer. Really bad luck though, it got blown up by a manticore really fast:mad:.

Wot?! Despite having structure points? That is insane!

Well, I'll be getting three Manticores end of this year anyways so...

Great display cases... I hope to do something similar when I move to my own apartment next year.

10-07-2010, 12:47
Hey putty and daniel, thanks for the kind words.

Yeah it blew up pretty fast. Remember in spearhead a super heavy gets a penetrating hit at the start of the game. so..

A few days ago I played my first 8th edition game. Greenskins against high elves. New rules worked out fine. I wasn't too happy about my rock lobber losing the ability to negate armour saves. But then again i got a lot more hits, it worked great at taking out hordes of spearmen.
I also fielded my Night gobbos as a horde of 60 with some characters. And i must say it was rock hard. The big un's with spears were also amazing.
Charging was much easier and a lot farther then before. I had my orcs charge a length of 14 inches , seriously wow.

Those were just first impressions. Not too bad so far.

have a good weekend!

10-07-2010, 13:43
My cabinets are steadily getting too small to hold the collection . Better get some new space soon.

Don't you mean your armies are getting too numerous for your cabinets to hold? :p

For the sheer grit you possess in getting so many things done =>:yes::yes::yes::yes:

10-07-2010, 21:16
Those cabinets are very impressive.
I wish I had something like that to showcase my armies.
And of course I wish my armies were in a state to be showcased...

14-07-2010, 22:14
Yeah your right juicytomatoes haha, thanks.

Mister EmperorNorton, I can remember that your Empire army doesn't look bad at all. :)

Today finished my second spear chukka. Nothing too fancy. Just replaced some crew members with some oldies I had in the bit box.

I thought it would be nice to paint something for the space orks . So the new wip is a battle wagon. Simple straight out of the box.

Have a nice evening

29-07-2010, 22:48
hey everyone, just a small update.
Still working on several things at once. The havocs and the vehicles are comming along nicely.
But since the first game with 8th edition i must say I'm kinda hooked. My warmachines did pretty well so I decided to get some work started on a second Rock Lobba. Just finished the crew.

I also had my first 8th ed game with my vampires. Very cool battle against beastmen. Although losing my general in the 3rd turn didn't help. The thing I liked was how offensive vampire magic started to work better for me. I also noticed that the horde formation didn't really work for my skeletons.

Anyway a few pics of the new crew and then off to bed.

sleep well

30-07-2010, 15:53
love your latest work. the painting on the greenskins look nice and smooth. That battlewagon model is da bomb!

30-07-2010, 23:50
Your collection of completed armies is outstanding!!! I have that many armies, however yours knock the socks off mine!!!!

My hat is firmly off...

31-07-2010, 00:15
I really really like that Inquisition army picture on page one! And the Nurgle army is awesome! Great painting and an amazing model quantity you have painted, well done. I am jelous.

08-08-2010, 23:13
@juicytomatoes, thanks a lot, I love your work too, especially the chaos dwarf sculpts.
@dimitrios, thanks, you keep up the good work too, really like your steam tank
@bigcheese76, the inquisition is still my favorite, keep watching this plog there will be more inquisition in the near future

So a update before going to bed. I'll keep it short. Finished the second rock lobber. It turned out okay.
Next time I'll try to get the Havocs done. Also fabricated a few more skeletons with spears. Maybe I'll paint those between projects because they are easily done.

Till next time

11-08-2010, 23:08
hey everyone,

just an update of tonights work. Tomorrow I'll have a battle against High Elves. And I really feel like getting my Vampires out for this occasion. So when I got home from work, I had a nice dinner, kissed the wife and then went into a building frenzy.

This is what the table looked like:

I managed to build a unit of 29 ghouls to go with the strigoi:

Also put a necromancer on a corpse cart:

Furthermore I'm working on a vampire battle standard bearer, a hero on a nightmare, some zombies, black knights and I'll try to create another corpse cart from some old undead bits.

I'll make some pictures of the armies tomorrow.

15-08-2010, 22:57
Hey everyone, last thursday i played my third 8th edition game. I played vampires against high elves. It was great fun for the most part. The magic fase was a bit double sided.
We played the scenario from the great book where you need to capture river crossings. The rules for terrain were funny enough. Out of the four turns I managed to roll bad for power dice in three of them. I mean really bad. First turn 2 power dice, also in the third turn 2 pd and in the fourth turn I rolled 3 pd.
The second turn was cool. 11 pd, managed to cast Wind of Undeath 2 times wich was a real game winner( killed 2 bolt throwers.
His magic fase was much better using fire lore. We had great fun ending up in a draw with both of us capturing 1 crossing.
Also the Vargulf was kicking ass.

I took some pictures of his army. You allready know what mine looks like.

And before I go to bed a small update:

wip skeletons:

wip havocs:

Sleep well!

16-08-2010, 16:16
some great looking armies here mate, nicely painted, keep it up

16-08-2010, 21:35
Oh, lots of greenskin there !
I love the green fist banner, good idea, maybe I'll steal it one day.
Reminds me that i've got lots of snotlings and 2 pump wagon to paint...

16-08-2010, 21:48
Where's that High Elf wizard on the left from?
Don't think I've seen that mini before.

21-08-2010, 12:11
Hey everyone, no new pics yet. The skeletons and Havocs are almost there.

I do have some pics of a battle between Space Orks and my mate's Eldar.

@nedsta, thanks I do my best.
@Napalm, thanks the O&G are a favorite of mine too. The idea of the banner was inspired by someone else his log. Although his was pointing down. Kinda changed that a bit.
@EmperorNorton, I asked my friend, according to him it's a generic high elf wizard done by Jes Goodwin in a time long ago. Not by a particular company.

So last thursday we played a battle between Eldar and Orks. We had a nice table with a large trench system. We played 1115 points. The game was really great. All units were able to claim objectives and there were four of them.
The battle really went both ways. We both got into each others deployment zones and managed to scare each other away again. For me the killa kans did wonders in paricular, his unit of the match have to be the warp spiders with autarch. Anyway some pictures to give an impression:

21-08-2010, 12:16

24-08-2010, 21:10
Hey everyone,

just a small update. Quickly finished the skeleton spearmen. I now have a unit of 30. Might not deploy them all the time but it gives me some extras in case I raise some during a battle.

A week from now I'll start a bigger project. I'll get the keys to my new house. Updates will be even less frequent for a while as you will understand.

Moving does have the advantage that you find stuff again. I found part of my old BFG fleet. I'm considering if I should give it a whole new paint job or if I will just upgrade the existing one. Maybe add a few sails to the kroozers, to get a more freebooter theme? Now I just have to find the box with the rest of the fleet, but hey.. all in due time, enjoy.

24-08-2010, 21:20
Those skellingtons are rather nice. The red really pops, while the light blue gives them a somewhat ethereal quality.

31-08-2010, 20:53
That Bat-rep SCREAMS awesome! The brightness on the eldar and the orks together makes my eyes steam, not that that is at all a bad thing! Keep it up on the tight VC skeletons, to!

01-09-2010, 16:44
Thanks mr emperornorton and Bravey. That was kinda the effect I was hoping for. I still have my doubts on the color scheme for the skellingtons. But en masse they look good enough.

I signed up for the tale of 40k painters. I'll be painting around 1500 points of Blood Angels.
First wip is a Dreadnought with plasma cannon.

03-09-2010, 13:10
Hey everyone,

just finished a unit Havocs for the Hakanor Reavers. Not my best models, but i was distracted and didn't take time to do all the details.
Also a wip foto for my ghouls. They now have the same color as my feral vampire. Enjoy!

08-09-2010, 22:49
Evening everyone,

just a quick fix for you guys. Was at a mates house the other day and I took some pictures with my phone. These are my archenemies the daemon prince Inxentas and his right hand Captain Belial. They are old models my mate uses in his Night Lords army. Can't keep track of the times I slayed that Daemon Prince. He must have the worst luck in the whole 40k universe.
My other mates Space marine army has a veteran sergeant in it with a thunder hammer. That sergeant alone has banished the DP at least on five occasions where i was a witness! haha. Also some wip pictures of my mates Tau commander.
Very dynamic model as it blows up stuff and jetpacks through fire and all.

My ghouls are nearly done, tommorow pictures i promise.

09-09-2010, 07:34
Wow, impressive painting, i love the way all of your armys are done :) i would love to start a plog like yours but i still need to practice my freehand xD

btw, do you convert any models?

09-09-2010, 09:53
If only I possessed your perseverance... I would have had 10 10,000 point armies....

09-09-2010, 13:23
@thedigitalflip, thanks man, looking forward to more blogs. I must admit I'm not really into converting. I do the usual greenstuffin and bitswappin but unless I allready have a model painted up from the box I'm not a big converter.

@Daniel36, thanks mate, allthough I wish I had your terrain building skills. I could do with some nice scenery. That will change in a few months time I hope. Just bought a new house and I'm looking forward to my new gaming room :)

So I finished the Ghouls. It's a unit of 30 with a vampire. Really quick paint job. Lots of washes, I just wanted to get this unit done. Also a new wip. I've started working on some warbikes so that I will have a unit of 6 in the future.

10-09-2010, 19:17
The exploding barrels behind the battlesuit are fantastic. Great job. Is it part of a larger diorama?

10-09-2010, 21:10
I totally love the Ghouls. Really like the blue skin and the dynamic of the unit is awesome....great work tim :D

Greetz Rob (dobbelsteen)

10-09-2010, 21:30
Wow you've painted a lot of mini's! i only wish i had your motivation.
Some of these models have very nice paint jobs, espechially your later stuff.
Your mate tau commander is awesome!

14-09-2010, 13:02
@theimp, thanks my friend aprecciates the comments on his Tau. finaly he is motivated to start painting again, i have a hard time to get him from behind his xbox when I visit.
@Yayale, thanks man, I do my best ( most of the time)

Ha die Rob, haha was leuk om je weer eens te zien, het kriebelt wel om weer eens naar de clubavond te komen. We zullen wel eens afspreken om een battle te doen zeker?:)

So I haven't completed anything but I thought a wip picture would be nice. Painting up three more warbikers. Probably finish them tonight.
The blood angel dread is comming along nicely. Although it still needs a lot of work, anyway...

15-09-2010, 09:23
Awesome work, your orks are really inspiring and i enjoy seeing what you get done! :)

16-09-2010, 17:06
Thanks thedigitalflip, Orks are also my favorites most of the time.

So no updates on the painting front yet. But I played a cool 40k battle yesterday and we have taken some pictures. Why not a small rundown of the game with some pics to go.

We played the Strongpoint attack scenario from an old rulebook I think. It is one of the raid scenarios, with the cool rules for sentries. The object of the scenario is the control bunkers but we changed that into one objective. A secret inquisition laboratory where they work on new weapons that use alien technology. In this case make a sort of wraithcannon usable for humans.

I played my witch hunters and my friend played attacker with eldar.

My list was something like this:
-Inquisitor Lord with retinue and some nifty psychic powers
-3 death cult assassins
-Eversor assassin
-6 arco flagellants
- a priest with 9 arbiters in a rhino
- 2 stormtrooper squads in chimeras
- 3 penitent engines.

His list:
-Karandras with scorpions
-5 pathfinders
-2 jetbike squads
-10 swooping hawks
-6 wraithguard in a wave serpent
-3 warwalkers
-2 fire prisms

anyway something like that. I deployed the retinue with inquisitor near the objective and the arbiters in the rhino slightly behind as a fast reserve.
He started with the pathfinders and the scorpions infiltrating. The rest we kept in reserve.
The alarm was sounded pretty soon because his snipers failed to wound my sentry. Karandras stormed the inquisitor and the objective in the centre.
In short my army arrived pretty fast from reserve. He had a bit bad luck and arrived piece-meal. Combined assault made short work of Karandras. Cool stuff was a penitent engine use his Heavy flamers to make short work of the swooping hawks. The Eversor managing to get away with the objective and the Wraithguard actually winning close combat with the arco flagellants.

Anyway here is a few pics:

What is that sneaking in the background?

.....what's up Johnson....all clear sarge......you're up for a game of poker?.....sure sarge...

super secret!!!

Untill next time!

16-09-2010, 23:07
Hey everyone,

got the extra warbikers done. I must admit not my best work but still.. not dissapointed so. Also as much as I hate painting tanks my new wip will be a second Immolator for my witch hunter force.

17-09-2010, 08:43
as much as I hate painting tanks

You and me both!

The ork bikers are lookin' nice!

Wishing you luck with the immolater.

Farseer Emrys
21-09-2010, 11:34
I see you managed to complete that immolator!
Time to finish the baneblade I would say!
last thing my eldar need is more fast moving vehicles toting heavy flamers! ;)

Nice to see the pic of our battlereports, looking forward to our next game!

Farseer Emrys
21-09-2010, 11:38
I'm planning on starting a blog of my own so I can get some response regarding my scenery and eldar/high elf armies.

I think scenery, like painted armies, can do so much good when it comes to overal game enjoyment.
I'm realy pleased with our games with painted armies and painted scenery!
I'm thinking about building some more, well actually I'm already working on that.
I hope to have my own blog up an running soon.

22-09-2010, 23:13
Hey JT, thanks I do my best. Merlyn it's nice to see you have your blog up and running.

Just a quick post of some wip. First is a wip of the blood angel dread. I have no clue yet on what color to give the power fist. I could use some advise here!
After finishing the dread I'll start working on some death company.

Farseer Emrys
23-09-2010, 10:56
I think there are two things you should consider regarding the dreadnaughtclosecombatweapon. first of, you could paint it metal like the rest of te metal bits in the model. or you could make it a '"shimmering glowing energised powerclaw" of DEADLY DOOM! in that case I would suggest using the green that you used on the power conduits and wire you could go for blue as it also contrasts nicely with the red, but it would ad yet another colour to the red bone metal and green you're now working with.

Dreadnaught, Deathcompany with jetpacks, my poor Tau!!!!!
I really should get some more melta guns and plasma weaponary in my tau army....
When will you have a workable leagal army Tim?
Can't wait to test our bloodangel and Tau in a propper game!

24-09-2010, 08:03
nice dread! I'm also with Farseer Emrys' idea of the crackling doom-ish power claw look. I think it has the potential of making the model pop out more.

13-11-2010, 11:13
Hey everyone, long time no see.

I have been very busy the last couple of months because we bought a new house and it still takes up a lot of time renovating. Like a new marble floor in the hallway.
yep thats me,
Still I have done some work in the painting field. I finished the Blood angel dread for the first month of the tale:

For the second month I started painting 5 death company marines, these are not done yet, but I do hope to finish them this weekend. For the third month I'll paint brother Corbulo.

I'm still not sure on how I will highlight the black armour so I will save that for last. Any advice is welcome.

I've also finished the grotz I started a while ago, so now I have around 20 of these bad boyz.

What would you guys like to see next? just curious, pick anything for one of my armies.

Finally say hi to our new son Oliver:

13-11-2010, 11:33
Hi Oliver!

Does your new house have a painting/gaming room?

14-11-2010, 01:25

we live in exciting times! i'm receiving my own place next year.

but Tim, is that an anti-shop-lifting device you installed next to the main door? O_o

15-11-2010, 10:56
Hey mister emperorNorton, at the moment the gaming room is not finished yet. It will be up on the second floor, but right now we are still putting isolation against the roof so that we do not freeze to death when we play a game. The plan is to finish it in a week or so.

And yes mister Putty that is a trap door, people we dislike will plunge to their doom into a pit filled with alligators.

This weekend we played a big game, 2000 points Witch Hunters together with my mates 2000 points ultramarines vs 4000 points Imperial guard. As I expected we got obliterated on long range. Still we managed to win the game because we managed to hold the objective, although we were lucky the game didn't last another turn. Here are few impressions of the game, sorry for the quality of the pics.

15-11-2010, 11:52
congrats on the new place Tim! Wow, the marble work looks like a lot of... work!

The 4k game... were those chimeras really all lined up that way in deployment? Amazing! How long did the game take you guys?

btw, in answer to what I would like to see done next, any orks left to do? They're lookin' really fantastic and the gretchins are just adorable!

27-11-2010, 11:10
Thanks JT, the floor is almost done, just have to make all the odd corners and then it's done.
All the work on the house has interfered with my painting. I'm still stuck on the death company I have to finish for the tale. They are almost done, just a few details and the highlight on the black to do. After that I'll paint brother Corbulo.

I do have a lot of orks left to do. But first will be a second pump wagon. Some of the parts are missing. So it's a mix. The wheels are shields, mostly undead. The top is made of an old citadel plague cart. And some bits of an old reaper undead rhino that had prisoners in his belly.

Next week I'll do some cleaning of my cabinets, so any request for a new army shot??

27-11-2010, 18:50
Some gorgeous and amazing work in this log. Subscribed!

28-11-2010, 08:25
...as much as I hate painting tanks...

It isn't just me then?

Keep up the good work Tim; I particularly like the Bikerz. Good stuff. :)

28-11-2010, 22:34
@razormasticator: subsription granted, thanks for the good words!
@leonmallett: Yes I think we should start a new movement, a vision, no more tanks in the 41st millennium.

Got a nice game in today. We played 1000 points secure and control, and with 5 objectives it proved interesting. He played with his cadians, a fairly diverse list. A lot of footsloggers, a russ, some vets in a chimera and a hellhound. How I despise the hellhound. He also had a nasty surprise in the form of a psyker battle squad.

Today I played with my renegades with some additional support of some Hakanor Reavers. All footsloggers ( hate those tanks), except for a sentinel. Platoon, some vets, a primaris psyker, and some Reavers.

28-11-2010, 22:41
Deployment looked a bit like this:

It was a great game that really went both ways. He was superior in the long range departement. I got pounded by two mortar heavy weapon squads. And of course the russ. My boys stayed put.
The problems started when the psykers let a few of my units run of the table a few turns in a row.
In the end I won the game because I had more objectives. My renegade psyker managed to blast a squad of veterans of the objective. The sentinel tied a unit up in combat so they couldn't reach the objective. Maybe it was luck, but a superb game!

I wish you all a nice week, and hopefully I'll have an update ready soon.

[QUOTE=biginbelgium;5149594He played with his cadians, a fairly diverse list. A lot of footsloggers, a russ, some vets in a chimera and a hellhound. How I despise the hellhound. [/QUOTE]

OHHH Yess his hell hound gave me all kinds of trouble
against my eldar, the 'wound on a 2+ no saves of any kind (ap4 no cover saves) and a flame template gun of doom' spells the doom of one or two squads per turn, HORRID!

the trick is to not let him know how awsome and scarry the damed thing is.
I let it show to much and after we played a game he was mumbling about getting 3 hell hounds, 3 being the "magical number" :shifty:

01-12-2010, 11:05
your renegade IG army looks sweet. makes me want to collect a renegade IG army! What rules do you use for them?

01-12-2010, 15:54
What I like best about this log is that whenever I look in here, there's something else going on, a new (and big) army on the table.
Makes my own collecting habits seem a little less insane.
I just wish I got to play as often.

02-12-2010, 22:13
@farseer emrys: yeah, hate that hellhound. I'm afraid I have bad news, The second hellhound is beeing painted as we speak, I repeat the second hellhound is almost done! May the emperor protect us:cries:

@JT: I agree you should paint a renegade army. Last sunday i just used the IG codex and the chaos codex for the marines. I do have the IA book with the vraks rules, but this time we thought to give the IG codex a try.

@EmperorNorton: thanks mate, our hobby seems insane at times but hey it's also damn sexy.

So I finished the death company today. Next for the BA will be corbulo and I decided to throw in a death company dread as well.
I've also started working on some arrer boyz, some of these will be neccesary in our next WHQ dungeon. Those crossbows will hopefully blow the heroes to pieces.

Army so far:

new wip:

the arrer boyz:

04-12-2010, 08:33
Very nice Death Company. :)

04-12-2010, 11:37
Nice work on the death company mate.

Aaahhh... you are tempting me with the impossible! Another army? Ahhhh... a sexy idea, as you put it... but noooooooooooooo... I cannot... unless I paint faster... yes, preccciiiiiooouuuusssss... faster.... *gibber gibber*

Farseer Emrys
04-12-2010, 18:16
How nice of you to paint some red crosses on your marines, That wil help my Tau to aim better

I see you got the Dreads arms on in the end. Hope my handywork helped.

Are you going to ad to the model of the dread to make it more ' death company' -like or will it just be a nice black paint job with big red 'shoot me here' crosses everywhere?

16-12-2010, 22:45
@ leonmallet: thanks glad you like em
@ JT: quit gibbering, you must paint a renegade army now (use mind control beam -_-_-_-_-_
@ farseer Emrys:yes your tau need all the help they can get, maybe we can have an enjoyable game with my help. Thanks for your help with the dread, everything fits nicely now.

So today I finished a second pump wagon. The model was build by farseer Emrys, so a big thanks to him. Next up will be Corbulo and a herald for my daemons.

I really need to learn to get better lighting on the pictures. The colors aren't showing very well.

17-12-2010, 00:57
nice snotling wagons! can you give a breakdown on the components of the 2nd one (the one on the right)?

I downloaded the Vrak list from the forgeworld site... what's your take on it? Does it play different from the normal IG by much?

(robotic voice)
-_-_-_-_-_ must... paint... renegade... army... now...

-_-_-_-_-_ must... paint... renegade... army... now...

Short message for Tim:

The Trygon is nearing completion!

04-01-2011, 21:19
Hey JT thanks, the right pump wagon comes straight out of the box. The vraks list is fine. I kinda like using that one and use the IG codex when I feel like it. Not much difference in my opinion. So have you started your renegades yet haha..

-_-_-_-_-_- farseer Emrys, your trygon has no power over me!

Anyway, it's been a while. Work has been hectic and so have all the christmas obligations.

I have finished a Herald of Nurgle that I can use with the horde of daemons I have painted in the past. I'm in the mood to give the daemon codex a try.

Brother Corbulo is also nearing completion. He will be done before the 7th. Next up will be another character, a Lord for my Hakanor Reavers.
Simple bit swap, I used the wings from the possessed set.

Today Farseer Emrys and I played a nice big battle of warhammer fantasy.
We played 3000 points Orcs and Gobbos vs High Elves.
It was a scenario from the big book dawn assault. The game was brutal with all kinds of warped dice rolling on both sides. Here are a few pics to give an impression:

04-01-2011, 21:24

The game was actually very okay, despite me beeing a bit grumpy about some of my dice rolling.
More of the battle in Farseer Emrys his update this week.

05-01-2011, 15:08
The Lord for your Reavers looks great!

The painted armies and terrain on the table is what this hobby is all about... it all looks really good together!

Go Greenskins! (because I have many plastic and metal greenskins in my cupboard that I MUST get to after my TK is done)

I haven't started my renegade army yet... I have to be disciplined with the TK or nothing will ever be achieved in my collection :p

EDIT: It just disturbs me how I said 'my' renegade army despite not even having 1 proper guard model in my collection yet. And the 'yet' in my previous sentence disturbs me too... :cries:

05-01-2011, 20:32
Thanks JT, it's a pleasure to serve you all. You're TK are doing fine. I like the sound of your renegade army, sounds like a covert type of setup. They are there, they haven't been spotted yet

Today finished Corbulo for the Tale. Just thought I'd drop the pics here as well.

09-01-2011, 08:58
Love the Pump Wagon, and I really look forwards to seeing that Chaos Space Marine Lord painted up.

Those Blood Angels are coming along nicely too. :)

09-01-2011, 12:07
I agree, the Blood Angels look great.
How do you paint the black on your Death Company?

12-01-2011, 21:46
@leonmallet, thanks man, I enjoy reading your plog too.
@EmperorNorton: I do my best thanks, the black comes straight out of a Army Painter spray can, with a codex grey highlight.

So today I finished the Reaver Lord. I'm still working on the death company dread. But I decided to begin another project too. I'm going to paint up some human fantasy models I have lying around and I'll combine those in the great human alliance. Starting with some teutogen guard.

14-01-2011, 00:29
Well finally found it (might have helped if I looked in the right section doh!), you have a great selection of models, I find my self feeling slightly jealous as I wish i still had some of my older models (like the Arbites :( ).

Blood angels looks great, the gems are well done, I would possibly suggest putting a small amount of a deep read on them, keep up the good work!

14-01-2011, 06:22
Your CSM are looking great!

15-01-2011, 08:06
I love how vibrant your armies are. Great job!

15-01-2011, 13:49
@EmperorNorton: I do my best thanks, the black comes straight out of a Army Painter spray can, with a codex grey highlight.

Oh, I would have exptected it to be more complicated, because they look so nice.
I'm having trouble with the black on my Black Templars...

Looking forward to seeing your Teutogen Guard.

15-01-2011, 15:15
Very nice work on the CSM. Kudos. :)

16-01-2011, 03:29
Loving the CSM stuff man. The BA stuff is looking great also. Keep up the good work. One Love

17-01-2011, 22:34
@logan054, welcome good that you have found it. I'll gladly take your advice on the gems and try it out.
@JT, leonmallet and Lord_of_end_times, thanks a lot the Reavers are starting to grow on me, I have some nice stuff lying around here for their future
@Shnerg. thanks mate, Vibrant is the way to go!
@EmperorNorton, thanks man. Your BT looks pretty good don't worry.

So a small update a wip picture of the teutogens and the dread: Sorry for the terrible picture quality.

Farseer Emrys
18-01-2011, 11:16
yeah white wolf pelts. that are actually white.

24-01-2011, 22:37
Hey guys,

small update today, I finished the teutogen guard. i think they came out okay for the time I spent on them. I have a lot more in a box somewhere so I'll be adding some in the future. Next up will be the beginning of a chaos army. I have some models lying around and I thought why not make a start. First of some marauder horsemen.
The dread is almost done. Any requests for the next unit. I'm thinking of some scouts or maybe some assault marines??

26-01-2011, 16:22
The Teutogen guard look very effective; kudos. :)

06-02-2011, 22:56
thanks leonmallet, they are not as crisp as I would like them, but they serve their purpose. Expect to see more of them in the future.

I have a lot of things going on at the moment. This is just a small update with the stuff I have done for this months tale. I'll have another update somewhere this week.

Did a death company dread. It's the old metal furioso with some added scrolls. I did some scribbling on it as well. So that it looks like all kind of oaths are inscribed on it.

Farseer Emrys
07-02-2011, 16:49
the reflection of the light does not do these models justice, I've seen them 'in the flesh'and they look good!
might be worth it to re-post some pics with les reflections/ flash

looking forward to seeing some of your BA-schouts.

07-02-2011, 18:05
You've got a nice looking Blood angels force coming along there! My one criticism would be that the red looks a little flat? Though I think that may just be the pictures :p Bases look good, I like the big tufts of grass! And wow, there sure seems to be alot of oaths on that dread! :D

Farseer Emrys
08-02-2011, 08:14
How's the banblade comming along? ;)

08-02-2011, 08:17
Dunno why I haven't seen this log before.. but some really nice painting and some faily large armies kicking around here.. impressive.. also really like the display cabinets.. might have to look into something of that nature for myself instead of normal book shelves..

08-02-2011, 08:57
@herebedragons: thanks, I know the red looks a bit funny in these pictures. I'll make a picture in daylight to set things right.
@farseer emrys: thanks for the support, I've done the green stuff on the scouts so I'll post a wip this evening. Believe me you'll know when the shadowsword is done.
@grisnik: display cabinets are a real improvement, just love to look at them everyday. Thanks for you nice comment, keep looking for more largish armies dipped in awsome sauce.

Hey everyone,

here are some new pictures of the blood angels so far, not there yet but they are some better quality.
There is also a wip of the scouts, I added some backpacks and a locater beacon on the sergeant. And last a wip of a piece of terrain we'll use this weekend, so i'll get right on to it.

08-02-2011, 17:04

08-02-2011, 20:44
Nice piece of terrain, although I have to say that sacrificing a Rhino for it would be too expensive for my taste.
I can only hope my Blood Angels turn out nearly as good as yours.

Farseer Emrys
08-02-2011, 20:52
man, If it would help my game I would sacrefice rino's and even space marines on the altar of glory!:D ..... anytime:shifty:

08-02-2011, 21:56
The Blood Angels (like all your work before them, been having a read through) are excellent, but something is bothering me.

Why is the Furioso model being used as the Death Company Dreadnought, while the Death Company Dreadnought model (i.e. the one with the giant winged skull motif on the sarcophagus) being used as the Furioso?

08-02-2011, 22:22
Hey guys, thanks I'm glad you like the new set of pictures.
Mr. Emperornorton, that piece of terrain is actually a set sold by GW, so no rhinos were harmed in the proces.
The chaplain dreadnought was actually a gift from a few years ago, the idea to include it in a BA force came much later. I field it as a heavy support dreadnought and for that reason it has a plasma cannon, wich a furioso cannot.
The furioso model dread I bought at a sale for half price also a while ago when I had no use for it. When I started painting the BA I wanted to include it as a furioso, but then I heared about a new kit and then I thought to include it as a DC dread. For one they have the exact same loadout and i liked the rough form of this dread and thought it would look better as a DC dread.

I know, my mind twists and turns in mysterious ways. Glad you like it.

08-02-2011, 22:31
Your Blood Angels came out great man. Love that chaplain dread. One Love

09-02-2011, 00:10
your bright colours and crisp lines are exactly what i aspire to! well done.

09-02-2011, 05:15
the new photos show your paintjob much more clearly, and I must say, the character you painted that's holding up that goblet looks great!

12-02-2011, 03:01
First of all Big...Great looking armies. I have always thought of posting all mine but never do as I have no wip pictures and just thought if I do post a complete one it will be one of the ones I have done recently....Kudos to you man :)

Second...can you take a picture of both your hands...Just have to see if you have a ring on that finger and if you do then mannnnnnnn is your wife forgiving!!!! Mine confimes me to a single room in the house and all armies are boxed..

I wish I had a display shelf :D very jealous!

02-03-2011, 15:09
hey guys long time no see,

@Lord_of_end_times: thanks for the compliment.
@redyellowpinkgreen: I like your plog a lot too, nice dark angels you got there.
@JT: thanks I do my best.
@bluemeenie: start posting more pictures right away! haha My girl is okay with the hobby. It's all about balance, you should see what she does to the house.

So I didn't finish too much stuff this month. I've done a scout squad for this month's tale. Next up will be a Terminator Librarian.
Farseer Emrys and I are starting up a fantasy campaign that will mainly feature Orcs and Gobbos vs High Elves, altough we might add a pinch of brettonians and chaos too.
The first battle will be 'when the mist recoils' from the albion campaign book. I'll be building a artillery hill, another rock lobber and some archers for that battle.
Farseer Emrys is building a fleet to assault me and I must say it's looking very promising.
For the campaign I painted up a campaign map so voila

03-03-2011, 15:39
Wow those BA are looking good! What you planning on doing about iconography? Decals or freehand?

The map looks very nice too. The river is particularly striking!

03-03-2011, 18:09
The Blood Angels continue to grow - I really like your Scouts.

Nice to see the Planetary Empires tiles - cool stuff. :)

04-03-2011, 03:51
Oo your tiles look fantastic! :) Looks like it's gonna be fun playing with them...

04-03-2011, 09:02
Wow! I just read through the whole thread, impressive I must say. You're commitment is wonderful, wish I had enough painted stuff to fill cabinets! It was really nice to see some old HE models still getting some love, particularly like the old chariot rider in your phoenix guard.

The renegade army is fantastic! Lovely muted tone and they're coming on nicely. Love the skellies aswell and who doesn't love orcs? Blood Angels look superb.

Any tips on the yellow? I'm looking at trying some dirty yellow at some point.

All the best.

04-03-2011, 20:21
I hope you will keep us posted on your campaign.
Good work on the Scouts, too. I like seeing your Blood Angels army grow.

07-03-2011, 13:38
Your army is coming along really nicely.

Keep going!

09-03-2011, 10:17
@HereBeDragons:thanks mate, the iconography will be freehand.
@leonmallett: thanks, I'll be doing some campaign markers soon.
@JT: your welcome to come over and play with them.
@Aenarion: appreciate your nice words, yellow is a difficult color, I usually use lyanden darksun, then golden yellow and I highlight with bleached bone.
The high elves are my mate's army he has a log here somewhere as well.
@emperornorton: I'll keep you posted on the campaign, first battle will be the 27th of march.
@putty: thanks you too mate.

Here is a small update. I did a few orc archers for the campaign and here is the new wip for the tale.

09-03-2011, 11:52
nice work on the lib

Farseer Emrys
09-03-2011, 18:05
Orcs look nice! (especially since 2 of them are old conversions of mine!)
You're going for irony in our comming battle, cleerly!
: Having my High-elves shot by orc models I myself constructed! you do have a mean streak!

the pic does show how much the GW orcs have " grown" over the last 10 years, some of the new orcs are about the size of the old ogres figs!!!!

10-03-2011, 00:47
@JT: your welcome to come over and play with them.

Oo may I? That would be great! Now, if only I wasn't like living on the other side of the world :cries:

The librarian is looking really promising. As for the orcs, I love it when people mix different models and tie them in together through the painting. It's always so characterful. Great job!

12-03-2011, 13:31
It's been a while since I last check in on this log, and I must say it's been a treat going through the pages. :)

Can't wait to see what you do next. Keep up the good work.

15-03-2011, 13:32
I just want to let you know Im still keeping an eye on your log! (Merlin's too btw)
Please buy that new super huge spider. That will be a must for your O&G army!

Farseer Emrys
17-03-2011, 15:32
Jos Do you have a blog somewhere or do you just wander these forums as a bystander?

17-03-2011, 21:35
I'm a simple bystander. I'm having a lack of motivating for the last years I suppose, but once in a while I take my brush and paint a couple models. However, since a couple weeks I've been thinking to make a little start again and maybe even begin a blog about it to keep me motivated. To be continued.. (hopefully)

01-04-2011, 11:24
@bluewolf74727: thanks, hope you like the end result.
@juicytomatoes: glad you like the orcs, too bad about the whole living on the other side of the world haha don't fall off
@Malenky_malchick: thanks mate, I do enjoy your painting as well.
@jostie: jooooooosssssssss, haha nice to hear from you, how are you holding up? I do hear the spider calling, maybe...

So a small update. I painted a rock lobber and a simple hill for the battle between me a farseer emrys, check his log for awesome pictures. I also finished the librarian for the tale and also some scenery.

01-04-2011, 11:29
and of course some new wip shots. Currently working on a tester for some black knights and a soul grinder.
In may I'll be participating in the anual battle of the clubs again, for the ninth time. Too bad I still have to finish some stuff for that. I have to do the soul grinder, Epidemius, a daemon prince and a plague beast. The rest is done and only needs some retouching because those plague bearers were painted ages ago. When it's done I'll post a decent army shot.

01-04-2011, 12:10
wow you really do have an amazing ability to leap between projects lol! :p I love the squig launcher btw do you use it as a rock lobber or a doom diver? looking forward to seeing your finished soul grinder

01-04-2011, 15:29
that is some pretty fast and furious painting Tim!

bring it on! =D

02-04-2011, 00:46
absolutely love the squig lobber! :)

And what do you mean fall Oooooff...

03-04-2011, 23:12
@herebedragons:yep I'm known for my short attention span. The squig lobber will be used as a rock lobber, but Farseer Emrys and I where thinking up some rules for actually firing a live squig into units,
@Putty: thanks mate.
@JT: still have to finish a crew for the thing.

Thanks all you guys for the nice words. Work on the soul grinder is going as planned. Had the chance to play a game with my daemons this weekend. It went very well, especially when Epidemius reached his quota.

I did finish the black knight tester. I aim for a fast and simple paint scheme for this army. More of a light snack in between to use in casual games. Here is in a pic with the wight king.
Next wip will be another night gobbo hero, always nice to have more of them.

07-04-2011, 18:42

10-04-2011, 18:13
@yuwonoi: thanks mate.

Again work on the soul grinder is progressing steadily. I did finish the night gobbo hero and I made a group shot of all my night gobbo heroes together.
I've also included a wip of the assault marines for the tale. Nothing too special going on there. Repositioned the leg on the meltagunner a bit. And I used some parts of the sanguinary guard kit on the sarge.

Farseer Emrys
11-04-2011, 12:07
Hmm Nice
I like the fact that you used the bits from your other Blood angel kit to make this assault-squad more "bloodangel" what bits/ kits did you use?

looks i'll be painting more vespids.... plasmarifles..... fusionblasters...:shifty:

14-04-2011, 23:55
damn those vespids!, soon they'll have a chainsword in the face, squashed like bugs.
The bits on the assault squad come from the sanguinary guard and the death company kit.

The soulgrinder is sort of done, kinda happy with it. I also redid some wall sections for my table and started another rank for my orcs.

05-05-2011, 15:57
Yo yo , just a small update today to show I'm still here. The assault marines for the tale are comming along nicely. I also have done some work on a daemon prince as well. But since I hate deadlines I decided not to finish the daemons in a hurry for the tournament. Gives me some room to do what I like to paint.k

The 5 orcs are done, slightly different from the 20 I had done a couple of years ago. But I can't be bothered to repaint those again. I had a blast painting these, I bought these orcs with the first money I earned in a supermarket some 15 years ago.

05-05-2011, 16:36
Wow, I just went through your whole thread after realising how much stuff I've missed here.

Great work!

05-05-2011, 16:51
The Nurgle Soulgrinder looks fantastic - tremendous work there. :)

05-05-2011, 18:06
That Soulgrinder is fantastc. Are there pictures of the conversion process in here?
The Orks are great, too. Loving the grin of the one in the middle. Cunning but brutal, I'm sure.

10-05-2011, 04:44
The Soulgrinder is all sorts of AWESOME! Wow!

Jack's Painting
10-05-2011, 12:29
I am so impressed. Your quality and speed is astounding.

10-05-2011, 14:03
The Nurgle Soulgrinder looks fantastic - tremendous work there. :)

Agreed, great paint scheme and execution.

10-05-2011, 22:30
Wow thanks guys, you give me too much credit, thanks for the love.
I'm pretty pleased with the soul grinder myself.
@emperornorton, the soul grinder is from Forge World so no conversions involved, I can recommend it to everyone. It's a lovely kit to put together and paint, and great value for money in my opinion.

This months entry for the tale is still in the pipeline, meaning I'm late. ow well too bad.

26-05-2011, 22:17
Yo people, it's been a while. Got a small update. I finished my Blood angel assault marines for the tale. Been painting a lot of space orks lately, but no pictures of them yet.
I've also played a lot of games lately and even winning most of them. I had a great game with my Space orcs vs Space wolves. For a tournement I tested my daemons a lot, with a lot of draws as a result.
Got a few games fantasy too. My orcs vs high elves, winning two games. I have great time with the new army book.
New wip will be a boar chariot and a unit grey knights.

27-05-2011, 20:52
You are by far the most productive painter I´ve seen!!! Keep up the good work!

28-05-2011, 15:45
speed and accuracy... you got it all, Tim... :D

29-05-2011, 13:29
The soulgrinder just screams awesome. Lovely model with a lovely paint job. Your blood angels are really coming on nice, looking like quie the force now. The orcs made me have a cheeky grin, very nostalgic. Top painting being put out time and again well done Tim :)

11-06-2011, 16:29
Hey guys, you all give me too much praise. You guys aren't doing too bad either. Thanks a lot.

Just did a quick job on the chariot. I have several more waiting for some paint. Nice model overal. Nothing too fancy. Next up will be a giant.
The grey knights are nearly done as well. So till next time.

Farseer Emrys
12-06-2011, 15:30
chariot turned out nice!
soon you'll have a decent fast attack wing in that army of yours, if you get around to painting the boarboys you have lying around.... all of them... now that would be impressive .

I would give the eyes of the boars some attention though, the now seem like "open wounds" than eyes...

Farseer Emrys
12-06-2011, 15:30
Oh yeah The Marcharius and banesword.... update?

16-06-2011, 21:23
Thanks Mer, it was a bit of a rush job but it turned out okay. The heavy tanks will have to wait a bit. I'm bitten by the fantasy virus lately.

Today I finished five grey knights. Nothing special. I used a few bits to spice up the old metal ones. The picture has bad lighting I know, just to have something to show.
I've started working on the albion giant, and some wolf riders.

new squad:

Farseer Emrys

Damm even more wolf riders, In your hands these cheaky ba@st@rds work wonders agains my high elves.

Ad it sure would be nice to see some giants again, has been long since I last played against giants!

what will be the coloursceme?

16-06-2011, 21:37
I'm very much looking forward to seeing that Giant finished.
I like Giants.

17-06-2011, 08:50
The lighting is actually quite fitting to those grey knights, they look quite good. The skin tone on the helmetless one looks very nice I have to say. You got some really great work going on here Tim, you know I may just send you my models. :)

18-06-2011, 06:45
You're an inspiration, Tim. Every time I see your plog, I want to knuckle down and finish an army. And then do some more.

I think I'll do just that!

Farseer Emrys
04-07-2011, 13:48
How is the giant comming along, It would be awesome to see it fielded in a game.
I know how the giant model has been your panting nemmesis, (that and the Shadowsword)I think it will al pay of in a geme terms as I thing my high elves will be hard pressed with yet another high treath-target on the table.

05-07-2011, 12:25
Yo dudes,

just got back from my vacation in France, and I just wanted to throw in a pic of the giant wip.
Thanks again for all the kind words, it's great to see that we in the project log section give a positive spin to the hobby.
Yesterday i played a game with a combined force of blood angels and grey knights vs my friends space wolves. It went pretty well and we managed to slaughter each other up ending with just a couple of models on each side. My models of the match were definatly my death cult assassins. And he made great use of his wolf guard.

so wip of the giant, what do ya'll think?

05-07-2011, 19:46
Nice, but the blue straps are a little too vibrant? It seems a shame to have your eyes drawn to the feet?

05-07-2011, 22:41
i agree with HereBeDragons about the blue force the eye to the feet

06-07-2011, 05:37
but the blue is so appropriately garish for a giant! It smells of rudeness only a giant can deliver ;)

Today I finished five grey knights. Nothing special.
Ahem... given how I've stalled in my TK project, I'd say any sentence with the word 'finished' in it is pretty awesome.

Farseer Emrys
06-07-2011, 09:40
The "blue feet" attraction can be countered by the not yet finished "head job" I mean, with pupils, top knot bindings and such, the attention can still be drawn to the head, altough I have to agree with JT that in real life I would be waching the giant's feet:shifty:

Nice work Tim

17-07-2011, 17:20
yo guys thanks for the comments and critique. I kinda agree with you on the blue...but I've used it in the rest of the army too. And I like my models in bright colors. I've finished the rest of the giant, and I'm happy with the result.
The wolf riders are comming along great, and I've started working on some more orcs on foot.

17-07-2011, 17:24
Nice work on the Giant. What about his brother?

Farseer Emrys
18-07-2011, 21:23
Yeah with the other 2 giants and ogres you'll get a real bunch of big'uns that will put the orc big'uns to shame! en wil send my elves running for the preverbial hills!

18-07-2011, 21:52
Woho definitely cracked out some muscle there! Very nice. I would suggest you try some more highlights on the dark brown wolf, since he seems a little flat compared to the rest of the unit. Its a pain to them to come out right, as I well know!

19-07-2011, 03:00
love the giant!

19-07-2011, 16:07
Thanks guys.
@emperornorton: his brother will be done soon I think. This one turned out nice.
@Herebedragons: you're right, highlight deployed.

The wolf riders are done. Now I have a mighty horde of sixteen, you hear it Farseer Emrys, let those high elves tremble in fear.
Also made some progress on the orcs and started painting mad dok Grotsnik.

cheers guys thanks for the comments

19-07-2011, 17:17
Wow what a superb collection of well painted models. Really excellent work throughout this plog. Keep up the great work.

20-07-2011, 08:52
the wolf riders are looking splendid! Well done, Tim!

22-07-2011, 15:54
thanks Tzarinchilla and JT, you guys are doing some fine work as well.

I finished another 5 orcs. Nothing special, just a quik paint job. Now I have 30 in the regiment. Also did some more work on the mad dok.

22-07-2011, 23:14
nice work loving the skin tone

23-07-2011, 00:17
I love that unit of classic metal orcs. Looks superb. They have far more character than the new plastics ones and you have done them justice!

23-07-2011, 02:36
old school is so cool. Looks great!

23-07-2011, 15:23
yo guys, thanks for the nice comments. @Tzarinchilla, I know man, these were my first models and they are still my all time favorites.

Today I quickly finished mad dok Grotskik. Not my best work but I just wanted to be done with him. This is not my favorite model, it severely lacks cool detail.
Next will be my battlewagon, witch will be a fast one too. It's been standing on the shelves for ages. I don't like the model too much so I wanna be done with it.

23-07-2011, 17:38
Crikey Tim - you are very prolific; I hadn't checked the plog for a few weeks and you have turned out loads of new units.

Love the Giant and seeing him alongside the Ogres.

Great stuff all round. :)

23-07-2011, 23:45
yeah, how do you paint so fast? It's just a few days and then suddenly there's like this battlewagon!

The Ork bosses look great, btw! Is it a bad moons waaagh?

24-07-2011, 13:06
Nice work on the Orc unit. Chaotic yet unified. Just right!

24-07-2011, 14:01
Classic orcs are some of the best. You've done em a great justice paticuarly liking the skin tone.

26-07-2011, 20:43
Hey thanks guys, you know I do all this for you right haha. Your kind words motivate me a lot.
@JT yep the idea was bad moons. Altough it's more because I wanted to use yellow in the army a lot.

Today I wrapped up the battle wagon. For some reason I have a great time playing with my space orks but I have a hard time painting them. So again in case of the battle wagon, I don't really give it my best, but it turned out okay enough.
I've also started on some dark eldar warriors. These are a tester for an army. Only the armor parts on one of them is done. But the question is if you guys like it or not?

anyway pictures:

26-07-2011, 20:56
Nice work on the armour. The extreme highlighting has come out very nicely I like it. And blue is most definately the way to go!

27-07-2011, 06:39
It is amazing (I went through your blog) how you manage to paint so consequent. Your armies keep getting bigger and bigger :)
Are you planning to give your VC some of the new stuff?

27-07-2011, 09:47
Ooo the dark eldar is looking nice. Great work!

27-07-2011, 15:45
Battlewagon looks great, and I like the DE scheme. :)

28-07-2011, 14:45
thumbs up for the DE scheme too.

23-08-2011, 17:53
Hey guys,

I haven't fallen of the planet, I just had a vacation and just started a new job. Anyway thanks a lot for your nice comments. Glad you all like the DE.
@ sea.man I have some ideas and a vampire battle standard bearer ready to give paint.

Lately I have had difficulties finding motivation. Luckily i read a good book and I have started work on a unit Iron warrior chosen that have hired themselves out to the Hakanor Reavers. So they have a lot of tech bitz and they will be painted as Iron Warriors with a hakanor icon to tie them in. Still very wip.

I like what you've done with all the techmarine/servitor bits. Very nice idea. Very thematic. The mix of different weapons and equipment styles make them look alot less like a standardised squad which is also really good. Just how chaos should be

24-08-2011, 03:38
very nice squad! I've always loved the iron warriors. The methodical, implacable, grinding, siege-breaking style is very attractive fluff.

24-08-2011, 08:47
Nice conversion work there. Looking forward to how they are going to look all painted up! :D

30-08-2011, 20:53
Hey thanks a lot guys, I was mighty pleased with them myself.

Today I finished a daemon prince that I can use in my nurgle force. Nothing special, I'm not a fan of the model and too lazy to convert it. So straight out of the box.
I also did some work on the Iron Warrior chosen, standard Iron Warrior colors with a hakanor reavers shoulder pad to show there current allegiance.
Also next wip, nothing much, another night goblin shaman and the boars that go with the savage orcs.

Iron Warriors are looking great, the silver on the armour really pops.

Iron warriors are looking cool, but the 3 gargantuan monsters in the background take the cake!

They took my cake often enough!

Nice work on the tec-marine-iron-warrior squad!
looking really good those mini's
Makes it a pleasure to have you as an opponent.
Sadly I'd have to 'gun them down' every time we meet! :p

31-08-2011, 23:05
Liking the nurgle guys. Keep up the good work. One Love

01-09-2011, 15:49
nice work on the Iron Warriors the only thing i don't like is the yellow shoulder pad but there your minis and really well done that warsmith is my favorite

02-09-2011, 12:25
I think you need more hazard stripes on the iron warriors. Other than that, great work!

03-10-2011, 10:06
Oh, long time I haven't seen those oldschool wfb orcs !
Great job.
Very cool Orks too !

03-10-2011, 10:26
Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates. I got a really busy schedule with my new job and all.
I'm glad you all like the iron warriors, altough they are far from done. I've been painting more hazard stripes and I hope that I can finish them in a week or so.
Thanks Napalm, I hope you'll also like this update.
@farseer Emrys: bring it on! I remember a certain battle not to long ago where your Tau seemed a bit confused and butt-kicked.

Okay so I finished 5 savage orc boar riders. And I made a group shot of all the current boar units in the army. Next up will be the iron warriors and a night gobbo shaman. Stay tuned.

Lord Azoth
03-10-2011, 12:28
really nice colorful Orks, the way I like them ;) ... some ol´school from ol´eavy metal

03-10-2011, 12:50
Old school models with an old school paintjob equals pure win!
