Blood Bowl Starplayer book 1989

Today I found a very good copy of the 1989 Starplayer book for bloodbowl.
Thing I was wondering reading through it....is it still usable?

(atm I only have an 88 or 89 copy of BB and thus I don't know the new rules at all)
