Heya,

These past few weeks we have had some great heated debates on GW. pointing out the bad stuff and the good. But I would like to see a more I don't know proactive or creative week in this section something a bit more positive. Not to say that you can't voice your general discord because of something. I just remember the days (going back 10 years) When GW fan sites were full of optimisim and creativity. I know GW was different 10 yrs ago to what it is now. But maybe a few days of frustation amnesty will do us good.

Maybe talk about the stuff you enjoy and you can also point out the bad. Or what you are currently doing in your hobby and why its cool.

I have 2 Warhammer armies not even put together yet and need a boost to get myself to do it and usually being inspired by hobby stuff or ideas online generaly give me the boost to do it.

I think it would be cool if there was a GW community guy who was on Warseer showing us some sneak peek thats not even on warseer yet or sharing a few stat lines we are not suppose to know....

Hope this makes sense

After lots of effort, I'm playing a 12'000 point apocalypse battle tomorrow with Friends at Warhammer world. It's gonna be awesome.

Warahmmer World have gone out of their way to accomodate us despite there being a WH Historical tourney on tomorrow, it made me happy.

Digging though my sprue stash I came across 17 unbuilt Terminators 9new style) - looks like that Deathwing army could become a reality. A happy find. :)

I am really enthused by the Daemons codex more than for any army in some time (and I have pretty much enjoyed them all). Too often the non-gaming aspects of the hobby have been overlooked by me so I can focus on army lists and the like, but the book has really helped fire my imagination to modelling and painting (often a necessary chore for me), as well as conversion ideas (minor stuff - Heralds). The year started well for 40K in my mind with Orks, and looks to get stronger and stronger, with the forthcoming new edition and associated new stuff, as well as C: SM later in the year. If one more codex could be squeezed in after that (but before Christmas) then I would be tempted to call this the perfect 40K year.

Happy times.

Cool. Very cool. Kudos.

I have still yet to get to play Apocalypse. Soon enough, I am sure.

Perhaps you are spending more time in Other GW then normal? This area has something of a reputation because this is where people talk about the company as a whole. There are people on here that love 40K, Fantasy, LotR, and Specialist Games but hate things about GW as a company. This is where they discuss those. People have very creative things in the Painting and Modeling section. They have home grown rules in the proper section. They also have army lists, tactics, battle reports, and fan fiction.

I think the issue is you are looking for those things in the wrong section.

How is this different then every other week?

That would be great to get those sneak peaks but I don't see that happening.

Hey Ben, I just think that GW are in a very hard spot and quite rightly allot of people have been critical. I spend most my time on the Necromunda and Historical. There is too much posting on some of the 40k threads and fantasy to even keep up. I am not saying in the past few weeks it's been really bad here. But for once just not being so critical for now. I am sure I will be in the weeks to come (hope not) or someone will have a valid point about something bad. Just would like to see some unwinding done of some upbeat topics starting with this one.

But you are right. Although I do at times personally feel a Jerry Springer kind of feel in this section which is fun to watch! and participate at times.

Besides people seem to be playing these huge games. i feel left out!! Gotta do something about that!

Have played large games of Man O war which takes hours upon hours to play. I am knacking for sme 40k/whfb/historical large game too...

Keep in mind that you can play large games of 40K that are not Apocalypse. I find that Apoc has a very different feel. I think that is because of "D" strength weapons and the view that everything is pretty much disposable.

Well we had our games. Man it was awesome, easily the best game I've played in years.

Where was only 4 of us in the end and we managed 10'000 points a side, but it was so easily balanced it didn't matter.

Our side lost in the end 4:3 on objectives, but in another turn it could easily have swung around.

I'll agree here, my buddies and me played a 20k per side game of WFB a few years ago at warhammer world, we used 36 feet of their tables and had to leave everything overnight (obviously at our own risk) they were so good about it, they opened up an hour early for us to get set up, let us stay an hour later in the evening so all the other people had left before us, then did the same on the sunday.

They also left us alone to get on with it and kept an eye on the table when we grabbed a quick bite to eat. I have the feeling that they would do exactly the same today, it's one of the very best things about GW and I hope they carry it on!
