Has anyone come up with different rules for shooting?

While the mechanics work quite well, I donīt like the "retreat" thing, itīs a bit unreal. I know its not supposed to be a retreat, but a slowing down of the regiment, but still I donīt like it.

I was thinking perhaps "If a unit gets shot, next turn it will have a -1 command"

Any thoughts?

Always found the shooting fine.
The main bug bear with it is the fact that you have to target the nearest unit (unless you a re using a siege engine).
Surely a commander would target the most 'vunerable' units. So that is how we play it.

Well, I like the fact that you must target the nearest unit. Makes the decision on positioning shooting units more critical, as well as the advance of the opposing army. Seems we donīt agree much :D.
