Rather simple question... we know that Elves live around to be 2500 years of age, but what of the grim mountain lords, the Dwarfs?

Rather simple question... we know that Elves live around to be 2500 years of age, but what of the grim mountain lords, the Dwarfs? Not all elves live that long. Some have done (mainly phoenix kings), and characters like Malekith and Morathi have lived for much longer but they don't represent 'normal' elves.

The same goes for dwarfs. While there are characters in the background that seemingly lived for nearly a thousand years, most dwarfs' lifespans are much shorter. As a general guide, I'd say a dwarf older than 300 is treated as a 'living ancestor'.

I'm gonna go for 200-400 years, thats if they die a natural death.

Probably human lifespan by a factor of five.

I'm quite sure it is about 400 years, according to the 6th Edition Rulebook.

I think the fluff for Thorek Ironbrow mentions him living for millennia.

I think the fluff for Thorek Ironbrow mentions him living for millennia.

Runesmiths live longer than normal Dwarfs, and the most powerful Runesmiths can live for quite a while - Kragg the Grim, should he still be alive*, is approaching his third millennium. Thorek shouldn't be taken as a measuring stick, since he's probably competing with Kragg for best-Runesmith bragging rights.

*While I haven't read any Dwarf novels, I'm fairly sure he was alive in the fifth edition Dwarf book, and hasn't really been mentioned since. He may have died in the timeline jump from fifth to sixth, but I'd expect that I'd hear about it somewhere if that was the case.

Where was it written that Runesmiths live longer?

It's in the current dwarf book, I believe.
