I remember seeing a convertion based off OK Ogres and the old DE Cold Ones. Unfortionitally I dont have any links to it. I think it was in an old White Dwarf.

PsychosisPC has made a bunch using plastic ogres and cold ones. Link (http://z9.invisionfree.com/Madhouse_Workshop/index.php?showtopic=58).

Perhaps this Helldorado miniature is a good start for a conversion:

Here are some pics of my work in progress DO's. I made them using older DE coldones, Orc bodies, and Ogre heads. the great weapons came from the boar chariot and standard bearer orc sprues.

Hope they give you some inspiration.

Breg those are very cool, I hadn't seen them before.

I used the existing Dragon Ogre bottoms and some Iron Guts and Green Stuff for the top. They look so much better then the current models.

Well, seeing this excellent conversion work has inspired me.

I will have to use the Ogre bodies on my Dragon Ogres too.

There is some great work on display in this thread.

Wow some great work here. Athamas yours in particular look just right to me. Thumbs up :D The current models are just too dated. A plastic kit would be really nice but I doubt they will release one for a long time yet.

Aside from the awful faces, the current Dragon Ogres models are not so bad. Green stuff a face mask on them and they look pretty decent.

I was thinking, if they include dragon ogres in the coming BoC book, I will probaly make a few. But instead of being a dragon with a ogre body, I started to think more in the direction of making a human shaped dragon, like the gors and ungors are human shaped beasts (goats or something). Maybe that's an idea?

I for one never really could find myself in the idea of something half man, half beast, actually being the top half man, the bottom beast, so I figured for Dragon Ogers it might work the same.

From Warcraft 3, and I think they are also in WOW, I also liked the idea of dragonkin. In shape the same as the Dragon ogres, but the top half is not actually ogre, but also dragon.

cold one/ogre conversions are fairly easy, I havent seen it done with the new ones, not sure if it'll work.

heres one I did

heres a mini I bought years ago from the Chronopia range, I reckon it'd make a decent dragon ogre.

Found this tutorial on the W.I.P forum

He made his dragon ogres from plastic ogres and the lizardmen coldones.

Hrm... cool ideas. What base size are Dragon Ogres on anyway?

Briohmar

40mm. They're not large targets, and count as ogre sized.

Hrm... what about using other models for "counts as" ?

I mean, if I'm using a largely Khornate army... would many folk throw fits if I just used the bloodletters riding Juggernaughts sub for Dragon Ogres? Same thing for using bloodletters (or daemonettes) in the place of marauders?

Has anyone tried to do a conversion based on the lions from the HE Chariot?

I doubt anyone would care so long as the weapons make sense. Like Bloodletters are Marauders with GW's.

Futher BloodCrushers sa dragon Ogre's is a-ok in my book. Always double check but I highly doubt anyone would care all that much.

Wow, good models, Herod. Those are the best dragon ogres Ive seen, and its one of the most easy conversion.
