I think bear riders would be pretty cool. Not sure if any models are available though, you may have to look for alternative companies.

I would rather use ogres as ogres than to use yheetees.

I would rather use ogres as ogres than to use yheetees.

Give them furry Russian hats, and lots of barrels of the sprue (for the vodka)!

I'm not sure i follow. Are you doing a kislev army (using the empire book) and want to add something as a rare choice to count as dogs of war ogres.

Or, are you doing an ogre army thats attacking/based in Kislev, and wondering if you should use bear riders instead of Yhetees?

If the former then bear riders would be cool, though the only GW bear rider i'm aware of is Tzar boris, and its a pretty tricky one to get hold of, so you'd likely need to get the models from an alternate company.

If the later then bear riders make no sense, since mounting an ogre on a bear would just look weird :)

Same here, don't understand connection between headline and question.

well im making a kislev/dow army or more appropiate dow/kislev.

the army is based largely on the ice queen, so i thought yheetes would but quite fitting.

Okay, Ogres count as lowland Yhetties - if using DoW, special slot, if Kislev, rare.

Reaper not only has some classic dwarf bear riders, but their two bear riders from theor "Warlord" line are awesome -- especially the female dwarf rider. For Kislev, make them count as winged lancers. The riders can be considered "gnomes" of Kislev because they're a tad smaller. The female one is so awesome, you could make her the special Ice Queen character.

If you're looking for a "maneater" ogre, get the brand new upright, armored, and "trained" bear from Privateer Press -- Its' from their Iron Kingdoms line I believe, for the army that represents cyber punk Russia (KHALDOR?). Between that orgasmic wonder and the bear riders, you'll be convinced to make a "bear" theme. No, I don't own stock in these companies.;)

In case you haven't guessed, I'm already doing this.

If you hate the GW Yetis, here alternatives by "Wargods Of Hyperborea" http://www.battlefield-berlin.de/shop/index.php?list=WG986 (several) or by "Masquerade Miniatures" http://www.battlefield-berlin.de/shop/index.php?cat=WG42&product=MASQ1036&sid56B6977983A2499CAB608BB33B945735=461ad7c0d4046a 5b227fc5b83270fff1 (just one). Also Warmachine Khador has some Kislev alternatives http://www.battlefield-berlin.de/shop/index.php?cat=WG409&product=PIP33030 http://www.battlefield-berlin.de/shop/index.php?cat=WG409&product=PIP42007 . Also Hordes Trollblood for Ogres http://www.battlefield-berlin.de/shop/index.php?list=WG771 . A Warmonger plus a nice Ice Queen on foot are Horde Everblight fraction http://www.battlefield-berlin.de/shop/index.php?list=WG772 . But try to get Tsar Boris on Bear, as he is a stand out model for your army.

There is a Dog of War character that rides bears. As above Tsar Boris something or another. I used to have the model but sold it.

I sure if you look you can find 3 of them, they were very cool models.
