Just went through the whole thread, and hot damn diggety, this Lucius pattern Reaver drips with awesomesauce! The whole build is expertly done, and puts a bucketload of other titan scratchbuilders to shame.. You, good sir, have my respect. Stunning detail, and I'm pleased you made that AdMech-insignia the way I wanted to build it, namely take a manufactorum-bit with the "cog 'n skull" symbol and tinker with it.. Now I'll most certainly will get my hands on that boxed set and raid it for parts..
On a side note, how's the princeps chamber/cockpit faring? any updates on that incredible detailed build yet?
Best Regards,
FerrumIgnatus
@ FerrumIgnatus: Thank you, thank you very much ! (blushing....)
Im very glad that you like my build ! :)
If i can inspire you to make your own symbol, im very pleased.
Still tinkering with the Princeps. Have not made those darn backrests yet either, sorry

@ Vex: Well, not realy. ;) Just kind of like this rather odd colorscheme.

Definitively great!
I like the camo scheme on legs, very interesting and well done.
Would you add weathering or leave it as clean as a good maintenance team should do?
On first look, first image above, the scheme isn't....isn't.
BUT...
..as you look at the whole piece, as all of it is coming together, the painting scheme is good. No need to rush. It's going to turn out looking great.

Thought you did this Reaver SLOW, SDKFZ.. hehehe
And for the sake of the Omnissiah, DON'T leave it in a prestine, fresh from the Forge, all oiled up and ready shape! It simply HAS to be weathered! Sandstorms have blasted away the paint on some edges, a pair of panels have been buckled because a warhead failed to penetrate, som oil leakage at one of the knee joints due to some hastly in-battle repairs, you could even go as far and leave a panel on the Reaver without camouflague, leading towards the "hastly repaired-sendt out into battle again" feeling.
Only my thoughts..

Love the colour scheme dude! Keep it please. The people on the other forum are obviously just jealous ;) :D
It makes a really nice change from all the bloody Gold and Blue Astorum titans out there. What is it with companies and blue?? Youve got ultrasmurfs, Cyrgnar (from Privateer Press) and Astorum. Maybe it looks best on a poster ;)

I love the paint scheme!!!!! :D It fits really well with the model and is a nice change to see a more unorthodox style ;) So if those Swedish guys give you a hard time again you just tell them that it is very popular in Denmark ;D
Will thew trim on the head be gold or what is the plan there ??
Thanks alot, Mates ! Greatly appreciate your comments. The panel lines on the head will be chainmail like the ones on the Warhound. As im trying to make a small unit of Titans, theyll get a similar paintjob.
Might do some minor battledamage and weathering but im not that good at it so dont expect it to be GD quality. :D

Cool idea SDKFZ. I love the cammo for it, the only thing that would be cooler would be M-89 danpat... :shifty:.. but imagine doing a digi cammo for a titan.

Holy $hit, that thing looks amazing SDKFZ. You have really outdone yourself on the painting. I love the cast you made of the opus mechanica. The metal looks very nice also.
I love the attention to detail you have put into this labour of love. I also took your advice for my warhound and redid the leg armour the right way. It looks a hell of alot better.
I can't wait to see more of your stuff, what do you have in mind for your next STC to come out of your forgeworld?
@ Deffgob: Thanks ! :) I will do some minor battledamage and light weathering, especially around the feet.
@ FabricatorGeneralMike: Glad you like it, Mate ! On the painting, its not done yet, more to come. The Opus is not a cast, its built from all sorts of GW parts.
Nice that you liked the other look on those leg armour pieces. Glad i could inspire.

I also like the clear plastic card you used to 'glass' in the Reavers eyes. Very nice work.
@ t d a: Thanks, Mate ! Have give the heraldy a thought, have not decided yet. As you said, the red looks good against the cammo. In my old WD it says that the Imperial Hunters uses red as a contrasting color so i might paint some part in red :shifty:
Ive started two knights, but i think that ill do as most people, get the new GK dreadthing and then mightly rebuild. Its got some good parts but needs lots of work to meet my liking.

The dread knight is very cool but also imo very small, the knight is supposed to have the pilot sitting in the head, and for that to happen on the dread knight the head would have to be as big as the torso, But it has a lot of very cool and very useful parts I can only agree :)

SDKFZ.. Looking great.. Is that power claw from 'armorbimbos' paper templates for the Dreamforge Blockhead and crusader titan?
Having built four of those power claws, I'd say no. SDKFZ's design is a bit more complicated so far.
Theimp is right. This one is from the plans that Lack0f and Eater did "a long time ago".
Its been a long road to get it this far. As ive looked around i have not seen anyone do this fist in plasticard before. Theyve all been from paper or card.

Ill be back with more pics. as soon as i get more done.

@ ArcticWolf: I think that after seing FWs chaos Reaver power fist, id have to say, no. Itll look to chaotic for my taste.
Itll have to make do with a more civilized "hand", hope you dont mind :chrome:

Done some pistons on the arm. Oh and yes, they work !

Also did some more "riveting".
/ SDKFZ
As ive looked around i have not seen anyone do this fist in plasticard before. Theyve all been from paper or card.
NOW i know why :D
They're a pain in the ass in card stock too. There's just too many fiddly parts in a realistic hand. And, if you want it to actually grasp anything, you've either got to relocate the "thumb" to the palm or add a joint that allows it to fold into position.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v150/king_kaboom/thumbillustration.jpg?t=1300296426
@ theimp: Thanks, now i know why i didnt find any i plasticard :D
For that thumb, ive been thinking about making it twist inwards. That way it will atleast reach its long and index fingers.
It will pinch its enemies :D

The power fist looks really good actually. Lots of cool detail and it balances nicely with the mini.
Seems you could turn it a bit in the shoulder socket so the back of the hand is pointing diagonally to the front. That way the fingers might be free of the leg and it might even look a bit more menacing that way.
The artificer got me motivated to try painting more on my poor Titan.
Thought id try something new (for me) and add some more details in red.

Amazing how close they are in almost all measurements ! And we have not shared our builds mm wise......
t.d.a:s Reaver is a beauty ! Very nicely made with great care taken with details. I like the way he uses parts from allover and gets them to work for him.
So jealous ! I cant do that, i build all my stuff ( almost ).

Great pics mate, a shame the colours washes out like that on our titans, but I guess it's that damn mutted rainy-daylight.
I have to say these have been two of the most inspiring model builds on this.. and any forum.. so fantastic to see them together!!
As you know I've followed the build of each from the beginning.. and I have just got to say "Well done guys!!"
Continue the great work, and please keep on inspiring,
Best wishes,
Carl

Nice pics, both models look good togeter but...you donīt play a little game of "survival"?
Just some dices, and see wich Reaver es better :P
@ cthorpe: Thanks, Mate ! Happy that your still with us/me.
Hope you care enough to stay to the bitter end :D
@ Gonfrask: Thanks, Mate ! We didnt have time to play. It took eight hours just to get there and back.
B.t.w. i think t.d.a. would have won as im a lousy "diceroller" :chrome:

It didnt get itself killed ! Yahooo, my new models ALWAYS dies first time they are used.
But not my Reaver !
Then again, it did very little damage to the enemy, so i guess im back to normal again :shifty:

Awesome work - I don't know how you get time to do so many fantastic projects!
I'm still struggling with just the walkers which I started 6 years ago (let alone any of the heavy and superheavy stuff in the meantime) but -then again- I do keep getting as distracted as a cat with a hundred flickering toches (lol).
