View Full Version : Different Models for different editions?

Sorry to post this here, but I wasn't sure where else to put it.

I buy most models second-hand to save money, and every now and then I come across an older boxed set. Are the Russ MBT and Chimera APC boxes with the borders different from the current edition in terms of actual model and transfers?

The only thing that's changed about the Guard tanks is the accessory sprue. And for a while they came with a couple extra metal bits for crew and stowage.

I'm pretty sure the transfer sheets would be different, but I haven't bought anything new in ages.

Transfer sheets for some IG vehicles are different.
Stowage and accessories are different. Some older ones will have metal crew.
There are more differences between SM vehicles of various versions. Old Rhinos v new ones. Old predators and newer ones. Original whirlwinds or vindicators (had to use scratchbuilt parts as there were no kits when they were first included in the game.).

In game terms, they are identical, though. If your opponent thinks otherwise - find another opponent. All are still 'legal' GW models.
