I've finally settled on starting a bug army. I've got daemons and an SM battle company, so I figured the swarm would be the next logical step.

What's a good starting point? The battle force looks like a balanced start. Not sure about the warriors, but are the haunts worth it?

Yes, gaunts are worth it - as long as you take them in large numbers! the warriors are good, can be a HQ.

Get several battleforces and more gaunts, concentrate on the troop choices before you get carried away with the big bugs!

I'd definitely start off with getting 1 or 2...or 3 of the battleforces, it's probably one of the better sets released by GW, that's how I started out my nids army.

Now I have to decide, buy my last $100 worth of daemons tonight to finish my 2k army or buy the bug kit

I would buy the daemon army first, that way you can get an army 100% finished and you don't end up like alot of people including me, with multiple armies going on.

Aye, finish the daemon army first.

Oh you two and your logic

Agree with the others on both counts; buy the daemons and finish the army first, and more battleforces/gaunts for your aspiring Nids army. Oh, and stay far, far away from Spore Mine clusters...unless you like wasting points on free KP for your opponent.
