Can anyone remember what the sixth edition box set was called? I'm trying to track them down to assemble a cheap empire state troop army:)

Pretty sure the Empire side was close to identical to the battalion box. The new one even has prettier models!

It didn't have a name, just said Warhammer Starter Set. It had 10 handgunners, 16 spearmen, 1 captain, and a cannon.

I have the actual box around and checked the cover - it does not even have the words "Starter Set" on it, the top of the box just reads "Warhammer" and on the sides it reads "Warhammer - The Game of Fantasy Battles". Didn't check the bottom as I have some things stored in the box.

As for the Empire contents, they were actually 16 handgunners, 16 spearman, 1 standard bearer, 1 musician, 1 champion/character (could be assembled on foot or mounted) and 1 cannon/mortar with 3 crew.

Orcs had similar number of models: 16 archers, 16 boyz with double choppas, 1 standard bearer, 1 musician, 1 champion/character (could be assembled on foot or on boar) and 1 boar chariot.

The box does not even say "6th edition" on it. It has no identifiers at all other than Warhammer and Games Workshop.

Good luck with your search.

Try 'warhammer starter set' for your searches... I found a few on ebay using that one.

I started my O&G army with two copies of the orc side of the box, so I'm sure they're out there for cheap. Ebay and the trading forum here worked.

From what I hear, the empire captain is in pretty high demand among some people.
