View Full Version : What will be the start of an army blog...

Hello to guests and members of Warseer alike. I am a long time fantasty player and feel that I have avoided 40k for long enough. Many people have said it is both a better game to collect and play with compared to its Fantasy counterpart so I am prepared to give it a shot. Playing Dawn of War 2 recently might have something to do with my decision also.

In Fantasy I collect High Elves so the natural choice for the transition across to 40k I guess would be Eldar. However, just to be different I have chosen Space Marines to be my first 40k army.

The chapter choice is between Crimson Fists and Imperial Fists. What are people's thoughts regarding these two chapters and which one do you think I should choose?

Pictures will be up soon of my first attempts to paint Imperial Fists and Crimson Fists.

P.S. Could someone move this post if it's in the wrong place? Cheers.

It is in the wrong place :) Their is a section for painting blogs here (http://www.warseer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=56). I recomend using the Sci Fi Log area, since people who only collect 40k are more inclined to look there.

As tot he Army the best bet is to read up some back ground nformation on the two.
Imperial fists are a very standard chapter (vanilla/Codex basic) army. Crimson Fists tend to have more Veterans and more scouts though.
but thats only in the fluff, you can play them any way you like.
Another idea is look n the codex at Lysander and Pedro Cantor. Which do you like the look of more rules wise and story wise?
And finally would you rather paint a lot of yellow, or a lot of blue?

P.S. i love the irony of the statement "However, just to be different I have chosen Space Marines to be my first 40k army" :p

I'll keep an eye on this future log, and see how you go :)
