Mordian was called Mordian since 2nd Edition, that is since the Mordians were released. Chogoris was native name of Mundus Planus since Index Astartes: White Scars.
Next thing is you go read your fluff.

Am I missing sarcasm here ore are you comparing the change of a name (by one letter, which didn't even happen as we learned some posts above) by transferring two rival Chapters to one planet? (which is kind of... devestated)

That would be awesome!!! I'd love to see this mess =D

White scars fine. HOWEVER my edition before last (whatver number that may br) of the guard codex talks of mordia exclusively. Not sarcasm, last time I tried that old trick no one picked it up.
It did happen and i am not happy!!!!

It was called Mordian in 2nd edition. The poor excuse for a codex in 3rd ed probably mentioned their name 5 times. The 4th ed codex I can't remember but the name is correctly spelt Mordian in 5th ed.

Just like Catachan instead of Catacha, Tallarn instead of Tallar etc. When creating these regiments in 2nd ed they seemed to have an 'n' fetish.
