Think the novel has sold out. Got a 3 refund from GW today and had no other contact

Wouldn't surprise me. Sticking a big advertisement for a 3 quid novel next to a limited edition boardgame that sells like hot cakes is a good way of getting rid of your stock.

Probably as bad as the average BL novel...

Worse I suspect, regular Black Library doesn't have to be rushed out alongside a board game, it at least has time and a long existing 40k background to pick from.

I got the novel today along with SH, its a really really small book. no where near an inch thick, so I wouldnt expect it to be this huge epic adventure.

It's just the story of the campaign in the Mission Book. You could just about follow it on the map, as all the missions are clearly recognisable. It's not bad, but in hindsight, not worth the 3.

It's a novelette in the same style as Assault on Black Reach and Battle for Skull Pass.

3, read it in a day or two, job done.

Shame, I'd have liked a copy.

Is it sold out? GW Glasgow had a stack of them on the till at the weekend.

I'd imagine that WHW will still have some, as Gav T is signing copies this weekend...

No rushing involved, the tie-in has been part of the Space Hulk plan for a long time (though enigmatically called 'Blood Angels novella' up until a couple of weeks ago :p). I wrote the novella at the same time as the Missions book, and the 'colour text' for each of the missions are extracts from the novella (though I wrote one or two new pieces specifically for the Missions books).

Cheers,

GAV

I've been bugging my local battle bunker to sell me one before I leave town next month, but they won't break Lay Down. If I come back and they're all sold out, will you send me one of your copies, Mr. Thorpe?

I thought I recognised some bits ...

On the other hand, the novella suggests Lorenzo and Calistarius survided, while the "radio quote" at the end of mission 12 suggests only Calistarius survived.
