View Full Version : Looking for some good Foot Knights in Full Plate

Well, I have decided to to do a army, and while its a 40k army, I thought you good fantasy players would be more likely to be able to help me in the acquisition of miniatures. To give back story......

With Diablo 3 soon to be coming out, I decided to replay diablo 2. Coming to the end of act 3, they have one of the coolest game cinematics ever, where the Archangel Tyrael tries to take out one of the first evils.

The Character design for Tyrael is brilliant, so thought I would build an Army based on the same concept (you can see the cinematic here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdgwRT5dLt8 ), using the Daemons army list. ( A better picture http://www.d3news.fr/images/artworks/42-archange-tyrael.jpg )

So I find myself in need of some good looking Foot Miniatures in Full Plate, and the warhammer range doesn't have any currently, so thought I would ask for some help. Can anyone suggest any?

The plastic greatswords from the Empire range spring to mind. Though you have to do some converting to the legs and arms to get rid of the ''puffy'' sleeves. The old metal greatswords also look pretty good, but the seems harder to convert.
Otherwise the range of footknights is pretty limited.

Good luck, the concept art looks pretty good.

Seems like you should take a look at all the historical manufacturers out there. Mirliton, Foundry, Black Tree Design, Ral Partha should all have something.

Empire greatswords only wear full plate armour on paper. The old Reiksguard foot were actually wearing full plate (except on their feet), but are difficult to obtain.

I would recommend either checking other fantasy manufacturers than GW, or historical guys like these (looking for Wars of the Roses ranges can be helpful):

How about chaos warriors?

Foot miniatures in full plate and to me they've always looked very... orderly. Might be what you're looking for.
