If case you haven't seen them :

Doomwheel assembly and painting guide (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?aId=6000022a)

and there is also a Skaven banners pdf (http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m470842_Skaven_Banners.pdf) which might be of use to people.

Wow, this is pretty detailed. Looks awesome. Now I want to see them faces of those kids who are told, "sorry, can't use your Doomwheel just yet, you have to carefully assemble and paint each part first. Takes only half a year.":p

Outright hilarious was the 'paint the wooden parts' part, which according to GW takes 6 steps. To think that I get the same result by simply using Vallejo Inks on white ground... Would take me one step of 10 minutes.:D

(Actually I plan on speed-painting my Plague Furnace that way.)

I was quite impressed with the Doomwheel assembly and painting guide, the Skaven getting started was sire (but then, didn't expect much else).
Although I agree with Ultimate Life Form, I'm sure I could find quicker ways to do some stages...

In just 423 easy steps too!

Skaven concept art (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?aId=3800026a), from the new book back to Jes Goodwin's stuff in the 90s.

I've been waiting a couple of weeks for the Doomwheel Painting Guide to be posted on the GW site and will following the guide to paint my model.

BTW I spotted the article a few days ago.

Will you show us the result? I'm really curious...

Perhaps ;)

I don't religiously follow those guides, I don't even have THAT many paints. I just use ideas. Like the wood things are quite nice and things like that.

Sometimes the guides are useful sometimes they are not. But its interesting to see how the 'Eavey Metal Team approach completing a project and how it differs to the official instructions, like the Doomwheel guide.

Hmm, I just finished glueing the 3 segments together (main section and 2 wheels) and it feels like they could've gone a different route with a couple of parts... Such as the frontal nodes, the back-plate and the banner.... Also I wonder if it would be easier to glue the inner wheel rim in place first, and then assemble the wheel around it....But I will experiment with that when I get my Doomwheel nr 2.

heh, Im probably gonna need this to construct the Doomwheel & bell....

Screaming Bell and Plague Furnace if people were wondering.

(Sorry, no idea how to make it link to the page without it actually being the whole http code).

This is an old thread, but does someone perhaps still have the GW article on the Skaven Doomwheel? As you all know the articles are no longer on the GW site and I'd love to use it as reference for my own Doomwheel.
