I have just found out that the mighty Pitchshifter will be playing at Rock City on the Saturday night. Pitchshifter are one of the best British bands in the last decade. Their music can only be described as techno metal, and they are a brilliant band live.

Tickets are £12.50 and are available from here (http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/18003B4EEF81D453?artistid=750899&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=1).

I strongly recommend going to see this band on the Saturday night. I may even make it compulsory for the Gresham Hotel attendees.

Dance metal baby yeah! :D

Oh yes, that's a pretty safe bet :).

Although I'm not a big one for mosh pits, I've thrown up and been thrown up ons one too many times. Besdies, too sweaty.

Okay, I have ordered five tickets for Pitchshifter. The tickets are for myself, redemptionist15, Heretic Ė Tom, samael and samaelís mate (mate as in friend, not other half. Hopefully he wonít hit me for that. :p.).

The tickets are priced at £14.10, which includes those annoying booking fees.

Can these four gentlemen either send a cheque, PayPal or bank transfer to me.

Hmm, actually, I forgot Heero-Severusís ticket. Ah well, heís a big lad so he can book it himself. ;)

Speak easy is a good starter pub for rock city as is just round the corner and the general warm up place for rock city, though think bZr would be a better place (triples for singles and generally a very nice selection of young ladies) :)

Dance Metal? Hmmm, sounds interesting...
(runs off to iTunes, listens to the start of half a dozen tracks)

Sounds good! I'll definitely be going.
Now, the question is, what's their best stuff. I don't like to go into concerts totally unprepared, so can anyone give me any recommendations on any songs of theirs that are particularly likely to be played, or that would epitomise their style?

Cheers.

You're not the only one to utter such expletives, I think everyone does when they hear about it, hey who knows maybe (please please whatever minor deity is listening) it'll reopen

Crube

As long as it reopens in the same style as it was, and not another trendy bar.

Nottingham needs the old style Tap back...

Dodgy Ed
01-03-2006, 13:55
here here, it was one of the few decent pubs in the city, had a better music policy and better drink than the Speak Easy.

<EDIT>Thanks to whichever minor deity was listening the Tap seems to be back and under the same management, walked past last night and it was all open with the same old bar staff, unfortunately didn't have time for a drink there tho'.

Possibly less than that, with plenty of pubs along the way.

We don't want a short time if there's lots of pubs!
Not that I'm condoning the drinking of excess alcohol of course, it's just nice to have a relaxing drink (or five) before a gig...
