Can anyone find me a decent looking male Vampire model?

I find most of the GW ones either look old, and the only decent newer ones in my opinion are the special characters, which I would like to avoid if at all possible.

Too right, the current GW vamps are hideous! Check out some of Reaper's vampires, this guy is quite nice:

A different version of him:

He's probably my fave of the Reaper ones.
Alas, I don't think Avatars of War does a male vampire, just the female. Although pretty much any male figure can be used as a vampire with a pale paintjob on the skin.

I think there are a few great GW ones, but it depends a lot on what look you want of course. I like a few of the old Necrarchs and some of the Lahmians, as well as the mounted vampire lord GW sellshere (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1300345&prodId=prod1140295).
Generally though, I agree completely with you. It's kinda ironic that the army that's probably the most character-centric by definition also is the army that has the worst character models.

What I did was shop selectively for the models I wanted and then do a few conversions. I'm also currently looking into converting Vlad and Konrad into "generic" vampires.

I also don't find many male models that kinda fit the look I'd want for the Vampire either sadly.

I'm tempted to go for the Avatars of War Chaos Lord with the humanoid head instead of the armored one.

Take any human model from any range you like.

If necesary give him some greenstuff fangs.

Job done.

This one is pretty sweet (I own it)

This is his main page. His dark elf war alter is also pretty insane.

If you're playing friendly games (i.e not tournament) then Avatars of War have some really nice figures that you can use.

Not really, they have one model I'd consider using Jay. And its a Chaos model.

I was not a fan of GW's either but my army is female vampire led. I took one from avatars of war, the cersai model from dark sword and siohban from reaper mini

I already purchased a female vampire to lead the army, I'm just looking for non-crappy male vampires as her underlings.

Any aristocratic looking model should look fine with the right painting scheme or a bit of conversions.

Use the special character models. I do all the time. They look great!

But if you refuse to use named characters, use can always one of these:

Strogoi (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat50045&prodId=prod1050097) model. There's nothing wrong with him.

There's also the mounted VC Lord (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat50045&prodId=prod1140295).

From the LoTR line there are quite a few (and they are legal) such as:

The Betrayer, the Shadowlord, and the Knight of Umbar. (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1350000&prodId=prod140007a)

The Tainted. (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1600030&prodId=prod1570028&rootCatGameStyle=)

There's also the Witch King. (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1600030&prodId=prod1890002&rootCatGameStyle=)

Sauon the Necromancer (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1600030&prodId=prod1080027&rootCatGameStyle=).

How bout the Dark Marshal (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1600030&prodId=prod1290118&rootCatGameStyle=)?

Kardush the Firecaller (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1600030&prodId=prod140006a&rootCatGameStyle=).

Twilight Ringwraiths (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1600030&prodId=prod1130359&rootCatGameStyle=) make good Vampires also!

The Castellans. (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1600030&prodId=prod1080041&rootCatGameStyle=)

Amdur, Lord of Blades (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat150110a&prodId=prod1990005) is cool.

If you are leaning toward Srigoi, there's Gulavhar (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat150115a&prodId=prod1090050).

You could always use a chaos warrior/knight model (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat50025&prodId=prod1550018). I've used a modified Archaon before as well.

Sigvald (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat50025&prodId=prod1550008) is decent also.

Chaos warrior in bone armor (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1040006&prodId=prod1690009)looks cool too.

So you have plenty of legal options for you.

Sigvald makes a great look Avatar of Death Vampire. For a magic vamp lord, I use the Empire Wizard box set and the guys on the Corpse Cart can be made into nice Necromancer by cutting the long spear and putting a skull on the end or some other tip.
