Is there any way in 40k to feild an entire army of gretchin? I mean with their own HQ choice, elites etc etc

As of right now, no.

Grots are only available as 2 choices, Troops (Grot mobs) and Heavies (Killa Kans, piloted by Grots, and Grot artillery)

Even with the troop choice you still must include one ork runtherd for every ten gretchin so yeah you cant even have an all gretchin scoring unit.

you could have a MASSIVE gretchin as your runtherd.

Yeah, but that list is totally irrelevant to 40k, and the vehicles aren't included in the Ork codex either.

Your best bet for HQ is to make a Big Mek out of a grot, and say that all his armor and machine parts give him the Big Mek's statline. Same goes for other units. There's no real option for grot armies right now.
