View Full Version : Cottie's Niddle Diddles for a tale of four gamers.

Hi, completely new to the warseer forums threads and as me and my friends have decided to do another tale of gamers i thought i might have a go at doing my very first project log. For the tale i decided to completely go the opposite of my last tale army which was space wolves and go for tyranids and i no what your thinking but believe me my wolves were the least combat army i've ever done.

We start off with 500pts and must take at least 1 troops choice, we also get an additional 250pts each month and 2 restrictions lifted. the restrictions are:

No 2+ Armour
No Combined Armour Above 33 (Useless for me lol)
No single model with more than 3 wounds (This originally use to be 2 but after reading the new nid book i would have been stuck with hormies termies gargloyes which sounded hirlarious at first having an army either sit or play fetch but would get annoying.)
No large blasts or ordnance
Must take an HQ
Must take a 2nd troops choice

With that in mind i got the old hamster rolling and i think i have decided on:

2 units of Warriors with boneswords and lash whips

2 Zoanthropes

4 ravenors or 5 ymgarl genestealers

My thoughts were of going with a whole big nid theme but after reading the codex found out how good the special genestealers so i'm a bit stuck with that, but any opinions or ideas are very welcome.

The main reasoning for this log is to mainly motivate me to paint as i'm not the greatest painter and when it boils down to it i'm also quite lazy with it as well so any hints, tips or opinions will be surely appreciated. I will hopefully have the pics up by tommorrow.

So hope to hear from people soon.

Longey's Pyromaniac Orks: 5 wins.
Tom's Gritty Tau: 3 Wins.
My nids: 7 losses (Due to the fact that i was in fact over points i decided that as it was my fault it be fair to declare that all my wins be losses for my own gross error.)

OK next update the enigmatic longey and his pyromanic ork clan won the 500pt tournament last week and addtional troops and large blasts were taken off the rules so i decided to go for another zoanthrope 1 tyranid warrior with barbed strangler in each squad and tyranid prime with a pair of boneswords.
heres the models.

And whole army shot sorry about quality best i could get if u cant work it out then whole army consists of:

Prime, 8 warriors, 2 zoans, 3 raveners.

Please all comments are welcome so if you wouldnt mind plz reply.

Hey, thats some nice conversion work you've got going there. I'll be following this with interest, especially because we'll get to see the army as it grows and develops :).
BTW, I like the medium sized bug theme of your army so far. Do you have any idea what the main troops will be (ie. warriors as per now, or stealers, horms etc.)?

the colour scheme is lovely, very striking and looks quick to do. The Zoanthrope with the ravenor(?) tail is great, adds a lot of variety to the model.

The Tyranid Prime is awesome. most natural looking one I've seen.

Nice prime you have there. The GS of the joints to increase its height really works well!

You have a very striking colour scheme as well.

Great stuff.
