More (Comically caricatured) football hooligans to be fair.

Velkore, If you took Strong accented Cockney (London) down a few octaves, then this would also form a reasonable basis for the Ork Language.

I am sure if you go onto other more Orkycentric forums they will have discussed this in a bit more depth.

Generally what you are looking for, is where one consonant is subtituted for another two, to give a similar (but not perfect) phonetic effect.
or where a leading aspirated 'h' is missed off.

ie Wiv instead of With.
Da instead of The
Anuver instead of Another
'Av instead of Have
'oomie instead of Humie (as slang for Human)

etc.

You will actually get a more sensible answer out of Kriegschmidt, (if you are really really interested) who is linguistically and phonetically excellent, however, hope the above helps :)

Watch a couple of episodes of Eastenders and pretend they're all hulking green aliens. That should give you the basic gist.

When I read Ork Speak I always imagine a Cockney accent, it just seems to fit very well. Jamaican fits most, but not all, in my mind at least.

It's a parody of generic lower-class English accents. Here's an example of a character speaking Ork (or more likely Gretchin, given the speed and context):

Doesn't warhammer online website feature the orcaniser? I bet it works pretty well with Orks, seeing they sort of talk in the same way.

No, the basis was 80s english football hooligans. Guys who seem to like violence for its own sake and don't really care about reasons as long as they get to bash some skulls together.

The makers of Warhammer Online explained that Orcs were based off the Cockney British accent.

Now that would be funny, Imagine two Nobs fighting on the back of a Battlewagon.

"U bitch!"
"U Slag!"
"U bitch!"
"U Slag!"

Warboss Peggy Mitchell would be terriffing.

You'd have to pause before every exciting bit and go "Doof Doof Doof! Da Da Da Da Daaa Dum da!"

I'd suggest watching a film called Green Street for reference to what GW are talking about for their inspiration on Orks :)

Yes the 'enders is indeed a british soap. Ricky does have the intellect of an ork, and fat pat butcher as an ork is just scary:D

Cockney and Jamacan patwa are virtually one and the same thing these days;) We run dem tings, ya get me? *

*translation for non brits = we are in charge, do you understand?

Haha, a hillbilly/redneck Ork army?

Better hope you don't have too many Black people in your store though, as the amount of confederate flags/etc. in the army could get offensive, haha.

Whatever it is, it is annoying when someone tries to mimic it during a game. No, you are not an ork, but your horrendous B.O. sure makes you smell like one, assclown.
