I've been considering adding some Banshee's into my Eldar force.
But, i don't play craftworld. I am basing my Eldar around Raiders/Pirates so want to keep their look very consistent.

So i was planning on doing some banshee and Dragon Conversions, all based around the Dire Avenger models.

The Dragons i can't do yet. Until i find a way/thing to use for their meltaguns.

But for the Banshee's i was looking at using Dire Avengers(with some Female guardian torso's as well). With Dire sword/pistol Arms. Converting the legs to be more dynamic. But i am not sure how to show the Banshee mask. I was thinking more something along the lines of a Flash grenade/stun grenade as opposed to the mask directly.

i think this would be a good representation and fit my fluff well. but do you think its a good idea/would you play against it?

Sounds great. Stun grenades are a good substitute for a banshee mask.

If you were feeling adventurous you could give them the creidann, the backpack grenade launcher (the shadowseer is the only model with one at the moment) so that they don't have to actively throw them, they can just send a psychic signal to the back pack as they charge in.

As for fire dragons, you could just replace the shuripult with a meltagun. It's a noticeable enough of a difference. The storm guardians have metal meltaguns so you should be able to get the bits.

been trying to find a Eldar meltagun for abit, no luck so far. Thats the only thing holding me back on the dragons.

The aime is to make a uniform lookig army (so crested helms, Eldar armour) and just show specialists through weapons (more like a SM list). because i believe Eldar Pirates would work a lot more this way then anything else

Now, to track down 9 Dire swords and DA shuri pistols

Can't see the back launcher you mean?
I'll honestly add the Flash/Stun grenades idea came from Modern Warfare 2 where i playa knifing rush spec. More then 705 of my knife kills are on flashed/stunned people. And it made me think of the idea for the banshee's :p

Probably not the look you're after - but did you see the Eldar Corsair killteam in the previous 40k rulebook? That had a very consistent theme, while also being quite obviously non-Aspect related. Only ten models, but they was ace.

See those two tubular protrusions extending from his shoulders?
This is the Creidann. The backpack grenade launcher that lobs hallucinogen and other grenades. He's the only model with one.

Ahhh, i thought they were just back spines like the Guardians have.
Hmm i shall have to play with this idea!

Doesn't the Storm Guardian kit come with two Fusion Guns?

Doesn't the Storm Guardian kit come with two Fusion Guns?Storm Guardian box comes with one Eldar Flamer and one Eldar Fusion gun. They look really similar except for the flamer's distinct gas tank. Non-Eldar players (and even some Eldar Players) really can't tell the difference, so you can use them both as Fusion Guns and nobody would question you.

On that note, you can always use the Wraithlord's flamers and the Autarch's fusion gun as Fusion Guns.

Alternatively, you can use the Storm Guardian box to get two "Fusion Guns" and six sets of "Dire Banshee Pirate" arms alongside the usual two sets of pistol+CCW you get from the Dire Avengers box.
You could also use the eight hair-heads that come in the box to make your "Dire Banshee Pirates" that much more distinct.

The Shadowseer's grenade-launcher idea presented above is also brilliant.

Would need 3 Storm Guardian boxes though.
$165 seems a lot for 6 Guns and 18 Sword/CCW (When i only need 10)

I'll look into trying to get a hold of the bits though from those box sets, could be very useful :)

Thanks for the idea Absolutionist, i forgot about that box

Tourniquet, if you didn't want to buy whole boxes, maybe you could contact bitzbox.co.uk? I checked for you and they don't seem to have what you're looking for now, but maybe if you asked they would start stocking them.
