All I have to say about the new rules and legendary units is:

Horde Temple Guard with two Slaans. One Slaan with death and one Slaan with life.

No problem. So many of the new spells affect an entire unit, or require T or I tests for a whole unit. Only need to get it off once and the LM player has lost.

It's a shame Temple Guard can only protect one slann at a time.

I honestly would never take 2 slann, even now. From the 8th games ive played so far, I usually only have enough dice for 1, and maybe a spell or two for a skink priest.

In all honesty, 2 Slann seem somewhat redundant. The dice pool being capped as it is I'd likely want to spend those extra points in larger games on an Oldblood just to add some very potent bite.

(Most amusing thing - for 65 points you can have a weapon of +1 strength and no saves...or for 60 points a weapon of +3 strength. Seriously, S8 with a -4 saving through probably does more than enough for less.)
