For me it looks this way;

1. August= Daemon wave
2. September= Fantasy starter box
3. October= HE 2nd wave, Middle Earth stuff, Skaven wave
4. November= Dark Eldar
5. December= Limited Release Xmas box sets (Storm Raven, hopefully)
6. January= OnG
7. Febuary= Grey Knights
8. March= Ogre Kingdoms
9. April= Necrons (this better be good)

What do you guys think? Anyone get any good scuttlebutt that may alter the list?

I agree with you for the most part, swap April with March and February with January perhaps though?

By the way it's Tomg Kings of Khemri often abreviated to Tomb Kings ;)

Also your April listing seems to be a bit of a wish list why not Tau? Why not Eldar? Why not a dodgy expansion that we all think is pointless and will never really be used all that much ever?

something green is missing from your list :(

I guess march could be OnG. Rumors a few months back indicated Necrons at start of next year.

Green being the Orcses and Gobbos? Hmmmm, I'd guess August if my life depended on it.

I thought TKs and OKs were the next 2 fantasy army re-dos?

jspyd3rx

At start of summer they were pushed back a year.

Seeing as there has been discussions of Ogres models already (well, maybe just 2), would this not make them likely to be released before O&G?

Where? Almost all of this is somewhat confirmed.

No, I don't think so. I think it's green people, then dead people, then fat people.

Avian, I know your story, but may I ask, do you have some actual evidence/reason to believe in green people, or are you only deducing this? :)

Avian

I've been believing in greenskins as the first army in 8th for something like half a year now, for a variety of reasons, most of which I am not inclined to discuss. Sorry.

Not expecting a discussion, just wanted to know if there is something to back it up. ;)

There is also a rumored CSM wave from what I've read.

i have to disagree with OnG one, there is still other armies out there in warhammer before they get redone like Wood Elfs, TK, OK, Brettonnia's etc

jspyd3rx

Just because an army needs to be redone doesn't mean it will be.

So this be the 1st time since 3rd edition (1987, where there wasnt seperate race armybooks) that no armybook is released for a new edition of warhammer for atleast half ayear or longer?

Avian has it right. Unless something changed dramatically, I'm backing him 100% on his call.

I'm pretty sure a number of players would agree with me when I say that I hope you're wrong.

Greenskins don't need an update before OK or TK.

GW loves greenskins more than they love OK or TK. :p

awww man damn their favoritism for the greenskins! in all fairness though, ogres have really beautiful models already in my honest opinion, its just a book update would be nice with a couple new and better looking metal models such as gorgers and a option maybe would be nice to include my rhinox riders in there!

what could be changed to the orcs?
surely the tomb kings models could do with a nice update, i mean with the vampire counts have already got nice new shiny undead fellas, it would only be fair to let the undead of khermi get a chance to see the new mould light...

Much of this I'd say sounds right based on what I've seen talked about.

The main criticism I'd level is the common one: it's too optimistic. There's often this feeling that every month has to have an army slotted into it, whereas many will be filled with much less. Remember that in some years there are a half a dozen redone armies for a game system, some years there are only two.

So as much as it would be nice to see all those done by April, I'd be surprised to see it all by then. Pleasantly surprised of course ;)

Pushed back a year? Ouch... that sucks for Tomb Kings and Ogres. :(

Well, both armies are used to sucking though.

I almost only want an update so I don't have to pay as many points for skeletons. Or I could just use all of them as archers and volley stuff.

Guesstimate:
Jan or Feb: Orcs & Goblins
Apr or May: Tomb Kings
Aug or Sep: Ogre Kingdoms

Dark Elves need their 2nd wave badly. Dark Riders models are beginning to become rabbid and Dark Elf Warriors have become ferral. Don't get started on the ugly brides of Khaine.

Just read from Harry that the Tomb Kings book isn't even done yet. So updated my first list to reflect that OnG do seem to be coming for January.

No, OK haven't been pushed back a year, it's just the original rumour was wrong.

So all we know for sure of fantasy is only up till January? Other than wave releases; Beastmen were the only army to be updated. Seems kinda weak for it to be the same next year. I guess things are just too tight in GW right now. What do you guys think is in line for March?
