Hi guys (and girls),

Now that we are weeks away from the Carnage tournament we have begun wondering about the next event. These are the options we are considering but we are open for other ideas.

- Have another event later this year (which month?)
- Arrange two events for next year, one 40k and one fantasy
- Do another event next year in exactly the same way as carnage 2006

Thats all we can think of so far so let me and lav know what you think.

Nick

Well as its looking increasingly unlikely I will make it to Carnage (unless someone can tell me somewhere very cheap I can stay in Nottingham) I would quite like another event this year when I will have a bit more money. August might be a good idea. As there has already been a tournament this year perhaps a campaign weekend could be organised instead? Maybe something including Mordheim and whatever the 500 point fantasy thing is called as well as full on battles, combined in a way to make an interesting storyline, with different battles affecting the next ones.

A Warseer specialist games weekend would be nice. Necromunda, BFG, Mordhiem etc.

Get a hotel with a function room for those who want to stay and have day rates for those who want to come on the day.

Terrain and tables would be the only sticky point.

We're all staying at the Bentnick by the station. £19.50 a night.

As to a future event, you have to bear in mind that the GT heats are all in october/november time so having it september-december is tantamount to failure i think. Your best bet would be in the summer.

Your best bet would be in the summer.Which from previous experience has proved difficult. The inaugural Carnage Tournament last August only managed twenty-four entrants.

My currents thoughts are for two events starting next year. This would be one for Warhammer 40,000 in March and one for Warhammer Fantasy in May. Hopefully this would boost interest in Warhammer Fantasy.

A WarSeer Social/Specialist Games weekend seems to be another nice idea.

Iím open to suggestions anyway. :)

I like the idea of the Specialist games weekend too. Even though I dont have the figures for ANY of them anymore, I could always get hold of a Mordheim warband, or a Blood Bowl team...certainly less models to paint than 2000 points of Wood Elves...

Other than that, i don't think a separate event for WFB would be particularly viable tbh, looking at the number of people involved on the WFB side at the upcoming Carnage event.

Or have people made the decision to enter 40K instead of WFB, and would be prepared to enter a separate WFB event...

Only sticking point may be my impending move to Scotland...kinda takes me a bit far away, and with lots of 'real life' stuff to do...Still, depending on the date etc...

id be well up for a specialist game thingy. i must admit i dont know how a necromunda campaign would work - but i always love to see a new gang grow.

or blood bowl?

I'd certainly be interested in a Mordheim capmpaign of some sort.

Other than that, it'll be a year or so before I have an army that I'd want to use at a tournament.

I'd be up for a specialist games weekend. My Kislev warband only has a handful of games under its belt, and I've been wanting to get into Necromunda and/or BFG for some time.

A Necromunda tourney would be interesting because you can very easily cheese out a gang.

But something with Necromunda would be very cool. Maybe just a Necromunda campaign weekend?

We'd all have to bring shedloads of extra scenery to make it work though.

If I were to run a Carnage Specialist Games Weekend (or Social), then I would try to run it as a campaign revolving around either Necromunda or Mordheim, or try to run it as a BloodBowl league. Of the three games system, anything involving BloodBowl will be the easiest option.

All being well, the event would be even more laid back than the Carnage Tournaments and would more than likely take place in a hotel with a function room as Brimstone suggested. Although this does mean Warhammer World will not be used, I would still aim for a fairly central location in the UK.

Two seperate events might encourage more for WFB, I would enter the 40k one as well if it was a seperate event. Do you think you can get the number of people you've got for carnage for 2 seperate events. On a personal note I d prefer the wfb event to be earlier in the year so it didn't clash with the cricket season.

If carnage goes really well this year id be tempted do the same thing next year and just run one event.

a Specialist games weekend could be a good idea, It'll be less models to paint-up for me which is good considering I'm a very slow painter

the only sticking point I can foresee could be terrain with regards to Mordheim & Necromunda

I'll fully support a specialist games weekend somewhere, but of course i'll put my vote in for Warhammer World again ... I'll definitely bring my BB team along to such an event. Terrain might have to rely on people bringing what stuff they had in, BB boards etc.

The problem is would they all run separate tourneys? And you could only enter one? Or would it just be a free-for-all, bring whatever SG mini's you've got and pick an opponent and play?

And just to throw a spanner in the works: I'd love it if someone brought a copy of Warhammer Quest to such an event, my noble hasn't had an outing in years.

A campaign weekend for 40k would be fun.

a 1500 pt army and a 400pt combat patrol

You play a combat patrol game, a couple of doubles games, a couple of 1500pts and a 1900pt game where you bring your two forces together.

It could be Imperium takes on all comers or you could think of some other theme.

It might take a bit of ironing out but its an idea for something different.

That said if its Blood bowl count me in, best game ever!

After Carnage, we can always run a poll to see which Specalist Game people most want to play and go from there.

The problem is would they all run separate tourneys? The event would more than likely focus on one or two Specalist Games, although we can run a poll to see if people want an organised tournament or a casual system.

what about an inquisitor campaign weekend?

what about an inquisitor campaign weekend? That is always a possibility, depending on what people want to do.

Another idea I have had is to design a 40K campaign weekend around the WarSeer Chapter, which I am led to believe by Nick, should be serviceable by autumn.
