View Full Version : Stormravens Preformance

I'm considering going out and blowing $120 NZ on a Stormraven, and I'd like to know how they preform on the table. How long do they tend to survive? Do they get singled out often? How much damage do they cause in general? What type of unit are they best against? Are they worth their points? Any gamers who have fielded them in a points match, please post your experience here!!!

If you do decide to get it, may I suggest blowing only ~$60 instead?

Would these guys ship to New Zealand?

They offer free international shipping. As long as NZ customs doesn't charge too much, that's the way I'd do it.

Have you ordered from these guys before? Good communication & prompt action on their part?

I live in Australia and always use these guys. I have never had a problem with them and have never been charged extra through customs. Great place to shop if you can wait a couple weeks for your purchase.

I've only ordered twice from them so far, and the closest I've had to a bad result is that it took them about three weeks to get the minis in when snowy weather brought the UK to a standstill.

there are many online retailers who will happily ship to NZ for you khumal the big 3 being maelstorm (UK), waylands (UK) and the warstore (USA). you really should avoid spending directly at gw Aus and gw NZ where ever possible. the difference in cost before discounts even come into play is ridiculous

Yeah.. For years I've pretty much just been using Trade me (NZ eBay), but when it came to models like the Dwimmerlaik and other named LOTR wraiths I had to go to GW.. And the prices were absolutely ridiculous!!! I hope GW isn't treating the rest of the world the same way.

Back on topic; Stormraven Preformance. How do they handle?

I voted
No, preformed dismaly. But it's not that they preformed "Dismaly". They just under preformed vs what a Landraider could have done. Or were forced to play a role they where not designed to play. IE, like a SM Vendetta. Nothing a small point tweek could not fix.

To be honest... what can you expect from a flying brick...

on the other side, they are good as a transport. getting a unit and a dread right on top of the enemy (my poor guardsmen cries...)
