I am looking for 2 specific bits (I think bits is the correct term) to make some models, but also in general is there a good place to look for warhammer bits?

Specifically I am looking for the left arm missile launcher for a Space Marine Venerable Dreadnought. I found this (http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Mk-V-MORTIS-DREADNOUGHT-MISSILE-LAUNCHER.html)on forgeworld and was wonding if

#1 it will work with the current Venerable Dreadnought plastic kit
and
#2 if it is the best place to obtain such an item.

Also I was wondering if there was a good place to obtain Assault Cannon Turrets for Razorbacks.

Thanks in advance

Where are you based, Navar?

In the UK, both www.bitzbox.co.uk & www.bitsandkits.co.uk are usually very good.

If not, maybe someone can mention a place closer to your locale.

I am in the Middle of the United States.

I don't mind ordering from FW though. (And I have done a couple of times.)

I've seen those pop up on Bitsandkits.co.uk from time to time, and usually pretty cheaply. Id try with them.

FW one will work, but it's gonna be more expensive and it wont be better than the plastic one. Resin can have casting errors too, so i wouldnt buy that unless it was something unique or ornate. From what i can tell it's just about an exact replica of the plastic.

Assault cannon turrets are very sought after, as you can only get it from the LR Crusader upgrade sprue, which is 20$. You're going to pay a crazy markup for it if you buy the bits seperately, so if theres anything on the sprue you need other than the turret, it may be worth just buying the whole thing. Also, the new StormRaven servitor gunner turret fits a Razorback as well, and looks badass, but that'll cost a lot more, especially at the moment.

Bitzbox are actually doing a rather spiffing Forgeworld-on-demand thing now. I think it's just on dreads for the moment, but you might be able to email for them to get you the exact part you want:

Forgeworld on Demand

A lot of people requested dreadnought parts from Forgeworld to be stocked on the website. From this demand
we have set up Forgeworld on Demand parts (FWoD) which so far includes Space Marine and Chaos Dreadnought
parts. These are slightly more expensive than FW but we believe that what you will save from us on the shipping will
even the cost out. More on demand Forgeworld items will be added over the coming months. If there is something you'd
like to see us stock with this service then please don't hesitiate to contact us.

Godzooky, thanks that is incredible news.

Also LoreDraconis you have made the decision for me about the Storm Raven Servitor Gunner. I don't mind paying a premium for something that will look that awesome.

Navar, for GW plastic bits in the US The Warstore also has a bits service...

From the War store

SM LR Twin Assault Cannon Turret Set Bits
SKU: B48-3012
OUR PRICE: $23.99

WOW, I think that the entire sprue only costs about $20.00 from GW.

Edit ($19.75 at the moment) with free shipping if you can find another $10.25 worth of stuff to add to your order.

Good find. Plus for $19.75 you get the entire Crusader upgrade sprue instead of just the assault cannon. A MUCH better deal even if you have to find something to push you over the $30 point to get free shipping.

TheWarStore is excellent for buying all sorts of things, including army cases and the like. Most of the out-of-the-box stuff is 20% off. The Battlewagon Bitz section, however, is basically a ripoff.

You can try Blackdagger Games (http://stores.ebay.com/Blackdagger-Games) or Hoard O Bits (http://stores.ebay.com/Hoard-O-Bits), which are both eBay Stores that often have buy-it-now options along with their auctions, and they both have a great selection. I've gotten things from both of these stores before, and they have reasonable shipping as well. Hoard o Bits also has a lot of non-GW stuff as well, if you're looking for conversion materials etc.

Sorry to necropost, but I found this site and it seems pretty awesome for assault cannons and other turrets. http://bitspudlo.com/en/products/4689-gatling-cannon-platform?currency=USD

It's not a rip-off, BWBits sold their whole internet operation to TWS :)

Thanks for mentioning bitspudlo.com here (I'm one of two owners/founders)

Use the ravenwing upgrade sprue and convert heavy bolters to assault cannons
