View Full Version : A Tale of Mantic Xmas Gamers, v2.0

Moved from the Mantic subsection to here as per advice of other forumgoers.

Since the Xmas bag seems to have jump-started a lot of people's Mantic collections (Including my own), several of us thought a thread cataloging our growth, painting, and overall collection(s) might be helpful. Apologies to anyone who was in the Tale of Four (Dozen) gamers (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?319439-A-tale-of-four-%28dozen%29-gamers for anyone interested), but the thread apparently died and it seemed like a new thread might be more accessible and preferable than committing threadomancy. We encourage anyone interested to post, and if anyone is interested in how to post pictures, here's a nice way courtesy of Lord Marcus:

Make an account on Dakkadakka, link the images using their helpful link's for copy/pasting under the picture after it is uploaded.

Anyhow, here's my first pic:
(Sincere apologies for the crappy pic quality, I'm still getting used to trying to do close-up shots with my camera :( )
It's my half-dozen Elf Rangers. Was sorely tempted to do dual-swords, but that would have left some sap with dual bows, which is a bit silly. Perhaps next time. I'm planning on doing a gloss beetle-black color scheme on my Elves, since my D&D group likes the Dark Sun setting, and the only thing scarier than Dark Sun elves is Dark Sun elves in heavy carapace plate armor. :D

Since I don't play fantasy (KoW or Warhammer) anywhere near as much as I'd like, the order of model assembly will rely for the most part on what would be most appropriate for my D&D group. Cheers!

Subscribed and will be following the thread with interest to see how it progresses. Won't be participating myself, as I'm a notoriously slow painter, but best of luck to all who take part.

Am up for this - loving my Xmas Bag.

I got into an assembling spree, so I should have pics up of the rest of my non-elves tonight or tomorrow. I'll do my best to have picture quality that doesn't suck this time though :P

Zombies. Somewhat sad the spine isn't long enough to put a head on top and keep it in scale, but still love the sprue models.

All I've got left to assemble is 2 sprues of Revenants 2 of elf spearmen, and 2 of elf bowmen (All 1 troop and 1 command). Also got the last sprue of skeletons. I'll try to figure out how to improve the pic quality since they suck atm, but hopefully it won't be too long before they get palatable.

@Other Xmas bag people: Start posting! :)
