I'm pondering over goin, but i'm really not sure. GamesDay seems tohave lost its appeal somewhat over the last few years. I'll have a think but i really aint sure if i'll be attending this year.

Just a quick question. Is it definately the NEC? They moved over to the NIA last year. Have they gone back to the Exhibition Centre again?
I thought that 2005 was in the NEC and before then it was in the NIA? Whichever way around it is I hope it's in the venue it was in last year.

Yeah, that was me being a pudding... As you can see, i erased the incriminating evidence from my original post when i realised... It was indeed the other way around.

Well after my first ever GD, after 12 years of gaming, last year having a pretty poor model I suppose I have to go and get this years model cause it's actually good. :p

I will have 1,500pts of Imperial fists and 2,000pts of dogs of war. I will be going bout the battle tables.

BTW do you lot find the coach trip is more fun than the actual event? Because of this I will be takeing in bottles of vodka mixed with lucazade.

If its anything like last year you wont get any bottles past the security and bag checks.

I shall be there. If the other half allows me to go. Which means as long as I pay her shopping money then I will be fine.

Yep, I am coming. Which is a pretty significant thing for me living in Australia as I do. I'll be in the UK at the time and will make a detour to Birmingham for that weekend.

Unfortuantely we can't make it ths year, I think partially the Limited figure didn't help us this year, as although it looks okay It's not good enough to warrent the trip and sadly the figure plays a part in our decesion to go.

Would have liked to have gone to get the Warhammer releases early.. but oh well.

Hope everyone who goes has a great time, the four times I've been so far have all been reallly good fun.

I might pop along, if only for the early release Fantasy stuff.

Alternatively, I could send one of my peons with a bag of cash and a shopping list, plus strict instructions not to use their own initiative under any cicumstance.

I believe it's a slayer standing on top of the severed head of the goldendaemon.
Heard that a fair while ago and not heard anything since though. I hope it is still that the model looked great.

I'd go, enter the Youngbloods Daemon, If I werent 14, living basically as far away from Birmingham as you can be in the UK (Orkney Isles) and have superiorly Hippocritical and stingy (st-in-gee) parents:

Mother: Going away to Croatia for 2 weeks to learn to sail, much moola involved
Father: Going round Europe on his new Pushbike-for-lazy-people (Motorbike) for 8 weeks, much moola involved again.

And they wont let me go away inside the UK for one day to acheive something I've always wanted to, reason: Oh dear, it could cost over 100 pounds, too expensive, hippocritical I say!

My parents Suck!

I still may "Hire" somebody to pick up about 5 of them slayers for me.

I would love to go, I have never been to any Games Days before. I think my local Indy shop owner organises a big coach, for everybody to go up. I am going there on wensday, I might ask him about it. I really want to go too Games Day.

This year will be my 1st time at GD so looking forward to it even though people say its not as good as it used to be.

I wont be getting the GD figure unless a friend wants it but looking forward to seeing the GD comp. and the seminar on 40k if there is one.

People always say stuff isn't as good as it used to be (whatever they're talking about). Sure you get similar things from year to year so if you go all the time it can get a bit bit samey. I've taken a year off from time to time. If you haven't been before you'll enjoy it.

See ya there.

The ideal age for Games Days is between 12 and 16. Any older and you do feel very old.

I've not been since 2002, when I went as the rep for Strike to Stun. I had a great interview with Marc Gascoigne that, thanks to a whole whost of events, never did get published. But it's nice to know that everything he said has pretty much happened since then; not something that can be said of comments by members of the Design Studio!
