Dave Paints....... for Worthy Painting

Hey all

Seems like age’s since I posted anything!! I have been busy though, as I've now joined up with (as the title suggests) drum roll please........ Worthy Painting (http://www.worthypainting.com/cms/). There works easily some of the best out there so I was more than happy to be asked to paint along side them!!! I've got some interesting stuff on the horizon so stay tuned :-)

I've gone with a more battle worn look than I normally do, I’m quite happy with the results :-)

I love the aquila design on the sternguard helmet - very distinctive.

I think the two Infinity minis on the right are from the earlier sculpts, which were occasionally a little odd.

ah that explains it the scale seems to be all over the place some with pin heads others that are almost 40k style. That said they are nice mini's though :-)

Mate, you are a machine.

Incredible painting all around, nothing more to say really. My guess is that your occasional lack of replies is due to people feeling sheer intimidation by your level of painting, actually. The Infinity minis are absolutely great, so much character with such a limited palette, and the Imperial Fists have tons of character with... Well, a bright yellow high contrast palette, so not quite the same thing.

Being the proud owner of those Infinity mini's I can only say how please I am with how they came out. The French feel really comes through. Im not sure how well they will do on the table, i dont have all the high tech stuff that my meta enjoy's but at least I will look good getting shot to bits :).

Hey, awesome log! I'd seen the GW blog post but not this thread. I must say your lamenters had me almost switching my own Fists for them! Speaking of Imperial Fists, any plans for Scouts? I'm doing a Fist Scout force myself but haven't set on a fatigue/cloak colour- any suggestions?

Those Grey Knights are super too, very bright (knights in shining armour indeed!), but the weathering effect around the rhino is fantastic! How'd you do it?

as for the cloaks I'd do them to match in with the base's no point having camo cloaks if they make you look like your on a gay pride march :-P

Great job on these guys, they look damn nice. They've all got a really good, crisp paintjob, and the glowing blue parts all look fantastic. The vehicles all look well worn and beaten, but unbowed, and you've made the Dreadknight look good.

finally started work on my Vostroyan army this has been sat in boxes for years finally thought it was time to get on with it :-) no idea how long it will take to complete but will post progress as it happens....


here’s the first of them still not decided on how I'm gonna base them yet (leaning towards city fight style) so base will come later, this is my version of Nork Deaddog REALLY don't like the GW mini and this just fit the bill with the commissar wrapped in a Vostroyan flag :-) he's the 118th army cook Fork deaddog :-P

Dave, as ever a great update!!! I will never ever, try as much as i do, come to paint like you! (And that after a lifetime [40 years, i'm 48 years old] as modeler!!)
But may i nitpick a small detail? You do a great weathering on your models, but with this contemptor you leave the exhaust and the tip/front of the assault cannon new and shinning? Is that wanted by your client?
