I was digging through my stuff recently, and came upon my toolbox full of Epic armies! Funny how you can have over 15,000 pts in just one little case...

Not having played Epic since the Space Marine Edition, I picked up the rulebook and wondered if there is still an active community that plays/discusses Epic online...

So, any Epic players out there? ;)

This should be in "Other GW games", there you will find all the info you need.

For starters, you should google for "netepic" and you will find a very active community.;) You can also check out specialists-games' homepage.

Sons of Russ I've moved this to the Specialist games forum as it's the correct place for Epic Threads.

Also your sig is over the 7 line (including spaces) limit, could you please change it within 48hours to avoid further action.

epicomms is a good place to check out all incarnations of epic including epic armageddon, and yes their is still a communty or communities of gamers that play epic, also the specialst games web page from GW is another resource that you should check out, I personally love epic in general and I like the newest incarnation in particular, the only edition I didnt care for was epic40k.

Epic is a fantastic game!

I've recently got back into it with Epic:Armageddon which although slightly different it is a more fluid game which concentrates on formations rather than units.

Sorry to go a bit off-topic here, but I have to know: Are there official Squats rules yet (I know that there's an unofficial list in the playtesting phase) and has anyone tried them (unofficial rules)?

no official rules for squats... or Chaos... or Tau... or Tyranids... or ok it is easier to give what there are official list for

Space Marines, Imperial Guard Steel Legion Regiment, Ork Waaagh, Eldar Swordwind, Imperial Guard Siege Regiment, Feral Orks, White Scars, & Speed Freaks.

Epic has its ebbs and flows, I would suggest the specialist games website, epic40k.co.uk, dropship.org.uk (hasnt been updated, but cool). I would like to build up the community here.

EpicComms and related stuff is pretty awesome. I inherited some old Space Marine stuff a couple of months back and I am really getting into the joys of 6mm gaming. I give a hearty "pip pip" to the Incoming pdf magazine they produce. The collection of links I have built up so far includes:

I'm presuming you already have the main official Epic page logged: http://www.specialist-games.com/epic/default.asp

My advice is dont hold your breath waiting for Official lists, Andy from SGs recently replyed to an email that the Lost and the Damned list was going to be a fan list instead of an official list despite it being developed in tandom with the Black Legion chaos list which is supposed to be official sometime this fall, the only difference in the lists is gonna be the availabillity of figs fresh from GW, it is I feel a poor decision on SGs part, but there it is, SG has put in almost zero time or effort into the still incompleted army lists since the reabsobsion of SGs/Fanatic back into GW, while the volunteer army champions and their playtesters have set up over on epicomms and continued to try to ready them for release but with almost no imput or help from GW , Andy or Jervis its hard to say when any of the remaining lists will be finished, as an example despite that the army champion of the tyranid list has advanced his list several versions forward SGs has decided not to update the now defunct version they have in the playtest vaults for a period of several more months. This and other setbacks cause me to believe that many of the lists will be years in the waiting for any type of official sanction, if ever.

Also forgot to mention, there is a good squat list over on epicomms, so check it out.

Really the best option for the Epic community would be to ignore what GW says in regards to the Epic List and determine on our own when it is ready for general use. Sadly GW does not want to support its non core games.
